My subwoofer?
3 pointsTime out....why any of you are in here arguing is beyond me as it has absolutely nothing to do with any of you. His sub has been repaired..it was 100% totally his fault that it broke as it is, and we are not charging him to fix it. (Because it has taken us longer then 15 business days to get it done) The suspension was completely shredded on the sub...we went over trying to figure out how he managed to do it because the spiders were cracked all the way on the outside roll of the suspension, which I have never seen before, especially with the short coil that the SSD has. So, due to our mess up..he is getting the recone done for free...even though it was his fault. I believe it left yesterday if it was packed up and it is addressed to his father, not him..which also caused a great deal of confusion with us as well. To "Worstenemy453": How about you ask all of those "Competitors" of ours for pictures of machining their own parts in house..and seeing what they actually do or do not do and also ask them why their products are more expensive then ours are? Because we do all of it here in house here in the states; and they do not? (there is a great deal more of "do not do" rather than what they "do" for what it is worth, ie: Manupackering or re-boxing something that got tested for 15 seconds and being so proud that they "Did something"..and associate their brand with it. )..Man that is hard work, I would not know what to do with myself if I did that...clearing over 200% profit on something that took zero effort other then putting it in a box and slapping a label on it. If you put any of them (with the exception of DD, I'm sure they have somebody capable of running a lathe there) infront of a lathe they will wrap themselves around it and bang the part out of the machine and chuck it across the room, if not hurt themselves when they wrap them selves into the lathe because...they have never used one, and odds are have maybe walked into a machine shop at some point in time in their life. What we do here is different then what anybody else does. Occasionally we mess up, and we take care of the customer accordingly when we do so. Considering the sheer amount of work we do ourselves in house..I say we fair pretty well.3 points

1 point- Ssa Zcon 18 power handling?
1 pointIts relative to your enclosure volume, material being played, and time length being played. Also assuming your not taking impedance vs frequency into consideration. Catch my drift?1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 point- My subwoofer?
1 pointDifference between those companies is that Fi does almost everything from the ground up on all of their woofers.. no direct drop in bull shit.1 point- My subwoofer?
1 pointYoung newbies thinking they know one iota about the audio industry, thanks for the laugh. Of course those company's can whip out recones quickly, they drop soft parts directly into their imported motors all day, all they DO is recones, literally.1 point- My subwoofer?
1 pointUnless you want them to hire a huge staff which means prices shoot waaaaaaay up, one day a week is fine. People buy Fi because their product is awesome and they everything they can to help you. With all the business they're getting nowadays they do the best they can. People also forget they they're Ascendant Audio too, so they run two companies out of the same house. I'm not trying to make excuses for them but if you've ever had or heard a Fi product you'd know why people buy them.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointNo I think u covered it, although some heat is lost due to internal conversion, it's not significant enough to say scramble the egg, that was due to what u said was heat soak That's what I get from your explanation at least1 point- My subwoofer?
1 pointRecones are done once a week, if your woofer is not sent in with the warranty card filled out it sits in the shop until they are contacted about it. Nick will chime in with details soon.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 point- Woofer arrangement
1 pointAhh If you are referring to non-isobaric drivers mounted in a push-pull configuration (i.e. one driver mounted cone out, one driver mounted magnet out and wired electrically out-of-phase) then the even-order distortion is reduced because the distortion components are now 180o out-of-phase even though the drivers are acoustically in-phase. Though I've seen widely varying claims in the amount of reduction.....anywhere from 3db to 10db+ As far as subwoofers mounted at opposite sides of the vehicle; I wouldn't worry about it as long as they are both wired to pressurize the airspace simultaneously (i.e. don't wire one out of phase, unless you have an extremely wide car). The dimensions are still "close" relatively speaking compared to wavelength in the subbass. Figure a 50hz note has a wavelength of 22.5 feet, so even if they are 3' apart as they might be in a trunk the amount by which they are acoustically out of phase is going to be very small compared to the length of the wave. The main thing in a car is to have them simultaneously pressurizing the airspace. And just to make sure there's no confusion.....Isobaric mounting arrangements and DVC subwoofers have nothing in common. Isobaric was popular before "small" enclosure subs were plentiful, not high power handling drivers, as isobaric allows an enclosure half the size of a single subwoofer and back-in-the-day most subwoofers required larger enclosure volumes. This is where Kicker got the name for the Solobaric subwoofers.....they were supposed to work in enclosure sizes half the volume as comparable drivers on the market at the time without necessitating isobaric mounting, you only needed one driver instead of two....hence "solo".1 point- My subwoofer?
1 pointThey upgraded to all U.S steel. Usually the problem is one of the suppliers is late or out of something they need to complete your order. Also depends on what you bought and such. Have you tried emailing? If not go ahead and do that,1 point- I royally have f'd up this time.....
MMMmmmmmmm haha. gotta love them jello shots. me and my girl went to a party last night and ya we did drink a good amout (of busch light ) and the whole time we were just talking about all this. she says shes not pregnant and to stop worrying but something inside of me tell me i should still be worried.... so she might be pregnant... and shes drinking.... wow... Damn.. i didn't catch that.. good point. I mean the first initial problem which was reason for thread created but doin it again.. NO. I do not have kids but mentioned this story to a friend of mine who has like a 1000 kids, lol... He told me it could take up to 30days before she knows if she is or not. I will go back to a point i made earlier.. YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO DRINK AND SO IS SHE. OBVIOUSLY TOO YOUNG TO MAKE DECISIONS OF RESPONSIBLE SEX. If you take this as an attack, then you are also too young to accept wisdom. If you take this the way it should be taken, then please stop partying. This "Freak" incident hopefully was a warning. Regardless of what it is, you need to just learn and move on.1 point- PORT NOISE HELP
1 pointIt's been said several times, but for your power level, you don't have enough vent. I love JBL, but they always list such ridiculously small vents. In their defense though, they designed the enclosure to sit in the trunk of a car, not in your home, so 9 out of 10 people will never hear the vent noise.1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
well i got a little more done today. I seemed to have kinda hit wall (no pun intended) on how to make all the angles match up right. i had boy wonder (CcnncC) come over to help me out. We built the front 2x4 frame that the front baffles will attach to and fit the batteries in also. Not huge progress but I have a better plan now atleast. heres a few pics. Here is where i was having problems visualizing how to make this come together. should get it finished tomorrow i picked up two 145Ah powerware batteries from RAM designs to add to the couple batteries i already had. In the back now i have 2 rebadged group 34 dekas, 1 group 31 deka and the 2 powerwares. thats about 500Ah of reserve for now. i have room for more in the future if needed. Once i make all the trim panels fit right and make a few new ones it will all kinda blend. im not sure what marerial im wrapping everything in. maybe black suede. A few of the factory panels trimmed and placed just to see how its gonna lay out. . Well thats it for today. maybe more tomorrow.1 point- Review of the Sonic Soundlabs Subsonic10
Your first post on this forum will NOT be to spam your product. I don't care who did the review, you've already violated the TOS you agreed to when you joined the site. You can stay and contribute if you'd like, but no more pushing your product. If you want to purchase your own sub-forum, contact admin, but this shit won't fly.1 point- Question about power, and impedance.
He hasn't mentioned anything about tweaking crossovers in both cases though. See now? hmmm, either way I don't know1 point- My subwoofer?
0 pointsWhether its apples to oranges or not, its what Fi/AA faces as competition. Some of their competition is SA, DD, IA and DD. All of which will do a recone in less that 40 days and dont have near the low reputation for customer service that they have. Im not doubting that their products are top of the line because they simply wouldnt be in business if their products weren't. But i think with all these complaints coming up about them, they need to do something to alleviate whatever is causing this issue, whther its hire more people or shave excess off the companies. No matter what the excuse is or the comparisons, 40 days for a recone is absolutely ridiculous and horrible. DD has a MUCH larger staff then every company you just named. Alright bro, check this, you and one person are to re-cone 100 woofers, ship 500, and assemble 1000. In two weeks. Think you can do it?0 points- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
You're right. If you were close, I'd come punch you in the face, but it IS your car, so have fun! Just do me a favor and put some subframe connectors on there before you stuff all that weight on the rear subframe. You're just asking for trouble and will soon find you t-tops and window don't seal, and your doors won't open or close, not to mention the safety factor.-1 points- My subwoofer?
-1 pointsIve had seemingly way better service from other companies. Ive never owned a Fi/AA product so ive never dealt with the customer service so take everything i say from the outside looking in, but 2 companies is no excuse for poor customer service. If CS gets sacrificed so they can push two companies then one needs to be shut down so they can serve their existing customers better. Jacob doesnt do recones once a day over at Sundown from what ive seen. Nick over at IA hasnt had an issue either. I dont know IA or SA's employee line up but they definitely dont seem too large. I think something needs to be done so these existing customers dont get put on the back burner for 4 days out of the week.-1 points- My subwoofer?

-1 pointsI would hope if a random subwoofer appeared at the doorstep that they would do the appropriate actions to find out what needs to be done to it that day. Whether its apples to oranges or not, its what Fi/AA faces as competition. Some of their competition is SA, DD, IA and DD. All of which will do a recone in less that 40 days and dont have near the low reputation for customer service that they have. Alright bro, check this, you and one person are to re-cone 100 woofers, ship 500, and assemble 1000. In two weeks. Think you can do it? Yes DD is much larger, hence their prices. But they make an excellent product with excellent customer service. And a dealer that isnt trying to make $200+ off every subwoofer sale will give you a DD price close to all these other companies. But thats not the issue here. No i dont think 2 people can re-cone 100 woofers, ship 500, and assemble 1000 in two weeks, so responsible business practice would tell me that i need to hire more people so my company doesnt fall on its face.-1 points- My subwoofer?
-1 pointsI will admit that i jumped the gun here without knowing all the facts. But my point was 40 days without a woofer is ridiculous, and blaming it the number of employees is even worse. DD is different from every other company i mentioned but they are still competition. This isn't an Fi/AA vs DD arguement and i was never trying to make it seem that way. The question would be how much is an Fi recone and how long will you wait vs another company. I understand your point because its an easy point. You say the actual numbers dont matter but if its within $50 dollars or so then it changes everything. 2 days compared to a week also doesnt compare to 2 days and 40 days either. But yes, in your example the $50 company would be the best one to go to in that situation.-1 points- My subwoofer?
-4 pointsAnd your point is what ? That they can push equal if not better quality products to Fi while maintaining a cheaper/quicker repair ability thus maintaining almost flawless customer service feedbacks across several forums and thousands of customers while Fi/AA struggles to maintain a good CS standing because they want to be unique ? Is that what im getting here ? And Jacob has put a complete custom sub together for me piece together raw parts in less than a week. He reconed my Warden in i think 2 days. Customers stay happy and recone time is minimal. Damn those drop in recone kits for those imported motors for making Fi/AA look bad huh......-4 points- My subwoofer?
-5 pointsWow, 40 days is ridiculous and doing recones once a week is even more ridiculous. Its amazing anyone even buys Fi at all.-5 points - XCON & ZCON 2011 Product Photos
