$800-$1000 Budget on Subs/ Amp
2 pointsI personally would get the subs I want now and focus on an enclosure as well, then use the extra money to buy a cheap used amp to hold me over till I get the amp I want.2 points

Is my SA-12 defective?
1 pointI think we have found your problem. Turn the bass boost off, and probably turn the gain down too until you read up on how to properly set it. If you have any bass boost or "loud" features on your deck turn them off as well.1 point

- Thoughts on Boston Acoustics???
1 pointI wouldn't, for the cost you would have into a cobbled together passive set you would be better off to go with something like those Alpine's that you can get off ebay for $160 shipped that are designed to work as a system. And I highly doubt any of those speakers would perform any better than the Alpine's. I'm not trying to sell you the Alpine's, but I also don't think what you have listed there is any better of an option.....it's more than likely a worse option.1 point- Thoughts on Boston Acoustics???

1 point- tips for building a wall
1 pointlol thanks... actually the car stills moves pretty good after putting the subs in.... i can already do a hairtrick... i just think with a bigger box/bigger ports... it will do a even better hairtrick lol Yea i can imagine even with the extra weight that the car can still fly, bet the brakes were a pain the first time after the subs went in!! I know they were in my car, had an Integra with H22, with 2 12" SI Mags and Hifonics amp, all fiberglassed in hatch area, first time i installed everything and went cruising around, the brakes felt like they went out on me!!! Well any ways back to original topic!! As for measuring the space, if you are planning on going around all the nooks and crannies, you are going to need to dissect each section into its own portion. Well take alot of time and some pretty good math, but it is one of the best methods(that i am aware of) to measure everything. If you were to just stay inside the struts though you should be able to make a good rectangle area out of that and probably have enough space. But there will be no set in stone solution for your problem, it may require a rebuild or 2 if the first ones dont pan out to exactly what you want. So just be aware of that. My opinion would be the try and keep the box inside the struts and just put a sealing wall at the front baffle to reduce the cabin space and reduce the need for all the extra measuring, but that is just me, and what i would most likely do. Best of luck man, would love to see if once finished!! Keep me updated, please. haha ya the brakes felt the same with me... took me a lil while to get used to... definetly can tell the car has more weight to... takes more gas to get up a hill now... and with having 8:1 compression its soooo slow til the turbo kicks in lol...nice on having a h22 in a intergra... i was thinking about putting a h22 in my hatch... but after all the money and time it would of taken i just decided to rebuild my motor and turbo it... way more hp in the end lol... and ya that does sound like the best solution to keep it in between the struts... ill measure and see what how much room i have to play with... ill definetly keep you updated thanks for the help i was thinking if i cant build a good wall with 2 18s i wanna switch to 4 12s or 4 15s... but i just love saying i have 18s in my car lol... IA makes 21" drivers. Oh shit!1 point- THE SSA BASSTRO VAN........EPIC REBUILD!

Ill have some pics up for you btw have you checked out your build log I believe the first five pages or so are chatting. this is a rebuild so what you want me posting pics of a van you already seen? thats a waste of space hey wait you and that have something in common a waste of space I can dish as well as receive but throw a smiley in there once in a while bro and dont come at me about what I drive. I did it for the simple fact I have kids and want to have a toy but if I need to drive them somewhere with my wife being gone in hers. Thanks for the confidence IAK!1 point- THE SSA BASSTRO VAN........EPIC REBUILD!

This will be one that takes a little while as it is getting the whole 9 yards..... Custom bench seat for the front with a media console in the center that will house the playstation 3 with custom charging station for the controller. with radio for volume controls in the center of the bench. The dash will consist of 15" LED tv with 4 2.5" speakers for center channel. A-pillar will have 2-4 soft dome tweeters. The Front doors will consist of 8 8" for midbass and possibly 4 2.5" for tweets....thats per door. Behind the front bench seat will be a 32" tv for the rear passengers. The backseat will be an L shaped sectional custom built to match the front interior. The bottom of the sectional will be plexi so that the Juicebox batteries are able to be viewed. Contemplating if I want to do the plexi floor and mount the amp on the floor or place it mounted into the bench seat still in the air on that. interior amps will be hidden behind the sectional. The roof will be fiberglassed and painted the piano black to give it that sexy shine. The substage will be 2 18" zcons powered by the stetsom 14k at 2 ohms. I was going to run 4 but I love the way the 2 sound and I already have them so why not just dump the money into the appearance aspect. But I will be rebuilding the box one last time and it will be made of birch and have resin 45 degree angles. The Exterior will be getting the matching piano black paint job as to match interior. Replacing the windshield and tinting it 20%. I will have pics and videos the whole time but with 913 Customs taking off faster than expected I will have to take my time with my baby......... Bare with me fellas!1 point- THE SSA BASSTRO VAN........EPIC REBUILD!

-1 pointsalright finally got some pics and a vid of my car... i know the cars dirty lol i just installed the alternator so i havent had time to clean the grease off yet interior. engine pics from when my bumpers were black... engine still looks the same today. so ya i ordered a fully loaded fi btl 18" i ordered another sub exactly the same from Fi ... and got this... the whole sub was pretty much different...i know they look alike but the cone was a different texture and so was the rubber surround... Fi told me they are making a switch from using parts from overseas to getting them made in america... some pics of them together... installing the alternator wires Mechman 220a Alternator.. had to make a custom bracket for it... but its worth it lol XS Power d3100 battery hooked up Hifonics BRZ2400.1 Amps installed.... underneath the amps i screwed 2x4s into the body and then covered it with the carpet and mounted the amps to the wood... pretty damn sturdy lol. grounds for the amp... the car already had places for bolts so it worked out perfect for the grounds.. bracket i made to hold up the boxes... heres the subs mounted in the car... right behind the driver and passanger seat... looking back from the rear view mirror. and ofcourse got to have a flexx video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJiRcInOyI8-1 points - Thoughts on Boston Acoustics???
