ok well lets do this 16k never got the amp I was the one who got stuck with the amp so it actually never made it to him it was mailed to me. I traded my 14k stetsom to 16k for the 10k he bought and some money, He told me he would help me get the 10k repaired so that I could use it. I got the amp fixed out of my own cash and never got anything from 16k after he told me he would send me more money! I was informed that he will not be paying my becuase the amp i sold him was modded to handle 18volts and that I lied to him telling him it was the 12volt version. which it is but its just modded to be able to take in 18volts but thats a beast of its own. I feel if anyone got ripped off out of this deal it was me! 16k your a chump bro and calling somebody out for the same problem you have is kinda janky bro! Steve actually offered me money since i had to get the amp repaired and I told him that I appreciate him offering up the money but it wasnt even like that the aggreement was between me and tim(16k) so if anyone needs to be put on blast its definetely 16k! Enough of the BS! Great score steve I am glad to see you doing what needs to be done with them zcons! This is a great build log! You are a great guy always willing to help out and I will vouch personally that to anyone! Now lets see some more sex out of them woofers!

Fi does in fact build SSA subs, but you have to think about how much money it is saving the SSA customer. Instead of SSA having to purchase, or lease a large warehouse, employee 4-6 people full time, setup multiple accounts with multiple distributors, and fund all the over head. All they do is have a already VERY reputable OEM assemble the woofers based on SSA spec. Saves a lot of time and money, which is why we are fortunate enough to be able to have this awesome forum and communicate with the owners so directly.

It looks small for 2 18"s. One in an optimal box for sure, or 2 15" ported.

#1 amplifers made today have resonably flat frequency response and do not "put out more power at higher frequencies" #2 clipping does not increase heat, more power does #3 the only thing to lower heat it to lower power #4 every gain setting tip in this thread is meaningless, O Scopes are useless in every situation posted on here. Just a few points... You turned the volume down somewhere, that is it.

I have a feeling playing this game will probably turn out to be a poor decision on my part, we'll see. If I were a typical stereo shop employee working on commission I would determine the customers budget, talk him into spending 15-25% more than his budget for items he "absolutely needs", and then sell him anything and everything I could in order to maximize commission/sales figures. Gotta pay the bills somehow. If we are operating on the basis that "honesty is the best policy", I wouldn't sell any of them more power (well, except the last guy as he apparently doesn't have an amp, so any power would be "more power". Though I'd only sell him what's necessary to reach his output goals with the selected subwoofer in the selected enclosure for his needs, unless we are going for the "headroom" route). I'll focus on #2 because I'm assuming that's the bated "more power" question. I'll also assume that "regular street competitor" means he's a parking lot hero showing off for his friends and not competing in an organization since no specific class or competition organization was mentioned. The reason I wouldn't sell him more power is because I fail to see the cost and time effectiveness compared to the return on investment audibly. By the time you factor in power compression you would need to more than double his power output, plus the associated upgrades to the electrical system and wiring to even approach something considered "audible". What's the cost on that? Potentially several grand, before labor cost if it's necessary? Just to have an audible change. Equivalent yields could easily be gained by evaluating his enclosure design relating to his goals/constraints/listening habits/etc, evaluating the subwoofer selection for his enclosure space & other constraints, acceptable alterations to the vehicle, system settings, current electrical system, etc etc. Adding power generally has the highest cost and the lowest return on increase in output, and that ratio only gets worse as you move up in power. You reach the the point of diminishing returns much more quickly in this area when we are focused on increases in audible output. About the only time I really see "more power" as an acceptable answer is 1) SPL competitors seeking every .1db on a meter, by all means upgrade power until you can't gain anymore or you reach your class limitations, 2) the unusual & extreme circumstances where someone is running a mega-small amplifier on a mega-power subwoofer & looking to gain output. Increasing from 300w to 2000w on something like a BTL should obviously net positive audible gain....but really how many people with a BTL are presently running 300w on a permanent, full time basis and can't figure out why they aren't as loud as other BTL owners? Once you get up into the multiple kilowatt range to start, I fail to see the advantage of increasing power for anything not chasing numbers on a meter when gains couldn't already be made more efficiently and effectively by other means. The required increase in power and added expense doesn't make sense for a daily driver, unless it's an unofficial penis measuring contest based on amplifier power. There's more than one way to skin a cat. There's not so much a "right" and "wrong".....responses will fall on a scale between more effective/lowest cost to lower effectiveness/highest cost. You'll have a hard time convincing me "more power", in all but extreme cases, is not going to fall on the latter end of that scale. Just because cone area can not be increased in a specific scenario doesn't mean there aren't other avenues to pursue outside of "add more power" that will yield not only more effective results, but also do so at a lower cost.

It's as he sees it happening. The amp did have issue but still played. He sold it before I shipped it and refused to have it fixed. The next buyer received a broken amp, not him. He still made his money. Only reason I wouldn't refund the money is he made payments on it knowing it was going to still use it and it was going to see .5 ohms. By the time he finished paying for it i had already spent the money on my new amps and didnt have all the funds. That's why I offered to have it rebuilt. It's the best I could at the time. Everyone seemed ok even the new buyer. I won't get into all the trade details because it isn't mine business to air out but in the end everyone made out ok. matter of fact he didn't want me to tell the other buyer, who I figured out who it was. I call him and said the amp had a burned spot on the board but no protect light and still worked ok as far as i could tell. I even made a video when I pulled it out verifying it worked before I even opened it up. Just because I had an issue when I bought it and didn't want any troubles. Now I'm sure he will come in here and say how I'm wrong and ripped him off blah blah blah. Use your best judgement. I've never ripped anybody off here.

well i found a few minutets to wrap this thuing up and get a initial score. this is still on 2 5ks @.5 each. no tuning, and wall is unsealed as of now. here are the runs in order. im happy as fuck!

Well this is what i woke up to this morning. everything torn out and no wires ran yet. goal today is to put it all back together. as of 2:00 pm everything is back in and all 2/0 cables ran. seats are back in. the singer alt is all wired up in the aux location. still waiting untill after SBN to talk with mike about my 2nd alt. pretty much the only thing left untill its playing in hooking up wired from binding posts to the amps and put the fuses in the holders.. maybe next weekend or late tonight. ill be gone next week and busy the rest of the afternoon.

6 fused runs of 2/0 from alternators 5 batteries. will be 6 when all is said and done 4 positive leads to amps. will be 8 leads once i get all 4 amps and 4 holes to spare.

well i fired it up today and as i suspected the large 350a unit busted the line again so.... i moved it up to the 2nd alt location. fits like a glove. ill have Singer send a smaller 270a unit to fit the factory location. i also started mocking up my amp rack/ power distribution center. was getting eaten alive my mosquitos so i had to come in and watch jersey shore. heres a few pics.

the same dude designed both subs and given that they are priced similarly i doubt you will even hear a difference. sounds like your just itching to spend (waste) money. Jacob has posted before that the SA and VVX lines are quite different. I think I'll take his word on that. As far as wasting money, I'm not going to build a box, so I'm looking about $150 for just a box. Or $380 for two subs and a box. I think I could sell either pair of tens for $230. So then I get to demo subs for free, and decide which ones I like better. For the same money.

I'm hoping this staff meeting took place at a titty bar, and the pics will be of the naked women.

So the missing link audio is nothing but the same as described above and thy charge $100+ for them.. I think i need to start making my own and selling them.
