Just remember, port area has nothing to do with box volume and everything to do with driver displacement. If you are running designs and see an increase in output when you change port area (especially making it smaller) it is because you are manipulating something else unintentionaly. When you make a box smaller you make it less efficient, 100% of the time. It isn't that the driver likes the smaller box better, it is that you have lowered system efficiency with the by product of increased mechanical power handling. It will never be as loud as a larger more efficent box with proportionaly less power due to thermal compression. If you are modeling, shoot for lowest vent velocity possible while keeping you port a managable size, that really is all there is too it. It has nothing to do with the volume of your box...

  4. lol I agreed with you guys yes, but you can't say any one way is better than the other. And not once in my life did I ever sell anyone anything more than they needed just make money on a product. Actually I wasn't even a salesman I was the guy doing the install and I usually saved them money with what I learned over the years. I even would tell customers to return items that were vast overkill for what was needed. Anyone who has talked or worked with me will agree I am sure.

  9. if you keep it square, double top, both sides and the front, you have under 8cuft GROSS. So right off the bat, no 2 15s if keeping it square. Using the slant, you would still have under 9cuft GROSS. I do not like this. That would estimate the NET volume to be somewhere around ~6.5-7.2cuft. Why not just one devastating 18?
  10. Awesome score. My first was a VERY long time ago and did a 140.1 burp 138.9 music so ya got my first beat. Keep up the good work. Higher scores will come with time and tuneing.
  11. Good news!! Chop's grandbaby is coming home today :-) Thanks to anyone that offered prayers.
  12. Ok, please end the past dealings in this topic. I am getting a number of messages about it. 16k, if you feel you have something still to be resolved with Steve, can you please keep it to a separate topic or preferably to PM's instead of ripping a tear into a build log that is not related. Ok, back to the build, I hope.
  13. Nice scores, way to go!
