Ok, this is just a test feeler for SERIOUS interest. We have not finalized the added cost or pricing yet, so don't ask. Weight wise, they are nearly identical to the current caps being used on the SSA Icon and SSA Xcon (possible convex cap for the Zcon). Below is what the 10" Xcon looks like with the Carbon Fiber cap installed (thank you to Duran for the work and Sean DeYoung for the picture). If we were to offer it, it would be a limited edition, upgrade option. Tell us your thoughts. We really like the looks of it.

im not sure how many times i have told him he needs another battery before running that amp at a half ohm,......... he knows the risk... if not because i told him .. be cause eveyrone else has! but hes young, and you know what it was like .... you wont listen until you have a paper weight to be honest i have been expecting a topic reading " my amp burned up " or " my alternator is bad" you will rape that new alternator this way,. bridge rectifiers will fry, right now, your pulling a load straight off the alternator no good.

Up next, work on the plexiglass. The plexiglass is half inch thick. Since it's a small window opening I figure it'll be good. As for cutting the plexiglass I used the trusty ol' table saw. Once the glass was cut I laid out the mounting hole locations. I started the holes with a brad tip drill. Since my free hand drill isn't worth a damn I decided to try a guide to keep the holes straight. Here is a pic of the silly contraption I used. Once the holes were drilled I installed the threaded inserts. I'll be using 10-32 machine screws along the narrow edge and 1/4-20 bolts on the far end. To get the holes in the plexiglass I'll be match drilling the holes through the box panel. I mocked up the box side and clamp down the plexiglass. I first drilled a pilot hole using the insert in the panel as a guide. I was extra careful not to booger up any of the threads in the insert. To drill the actual through hole in the plexiglass I used my little ol' drill press. A tip for drilling plexiglass, use the fastest speed as possible. If not the drill will grab when it breaks through and make a mess of things. Here is a shot of the plexiglass test fit.

I've only got 250 watts and the Gcon is at the very top end of my budget (wouldn't have any left for a box). Otherwise I'd love to get one. The output of the 10" Dcon ported was insane for what it was and I'm not really looking for more (at least not until I win the lottery ). I've always ran sealed in the past and in crappy boxes, and they did the job, so I think a single 12" Dcon in a quality sealed box would suit me just fine.

i'm sure ppl wud have noticed that even master experience builders doing monster systems & showing them here in build threads sometimes do ask for opinions & suggestions , to me that shows how humble a person is i think we all can agree that not everybody knows everything & it cannot hurt to ask a opinion in spite of being knowledgeble & experienced
