The SSD is an excellent sub woofer. Very versatile and can perform very well. Quite a good value and made here in the USA.

Impedance is not highest at tuning. There are two peaks one above and one below tuning. The impedance graph would look something like this (Blue Line) for a ported enclosure, this one is tuned to about 31hz. OP, I have that enclosure figured at about 0.94ft^3 @ 44hz after port and driver displacement.

You also decrease the capability for them to take full power. No output gain. Just a waste. If a driver is so poorly designed it needs that setup then it's a stupid driver to buy.

Optimus was a low end brand sold through Radio Shack. Like I said though.....just look around & find an amp rated either 100-125w x 2 @ 4ohm or a mono amp ~250w @ 2ohm and you're good to go. That Kicker is at the upper end of your price range, looks like it's around $150 shipped on most sites. Should be not too difficult to find one that's still reasonably decent for a little less $$ but nothing wrong with the Kicker either....they build reliable products.

Both. You want to apply the CLD to both the outer & inner door skins/panels. Typically Don recommends 5-6 CLD tiles on the outer door skin (half of those on the top portion of the outer door panel above the brace and the other half on the bottom portion of the outer door skin below the brace). Then typically another 1-3 CLD tiles on the inner door panel (based on how much surface area there is, etc) applied to the most resonant areas of the panel. The purpose of the CLD isn't to block noise, it's to reduce resonance & vibrations. The MLV is to reduce road noise.

Larger motor structure means nothing if its not optimized. There is some serious refinement in the SA's motor and it shows it in the performance it puts out. Ive seen direct swaps from much larger subs to sa's with significant gains.

You will get some of the same questions I was getting back in the early 2000's I"m sure lol. Why did you upgrade the turbo setup on your DSM when you have a wall.... Mine was setup for racing then it ended up with a wall for a few years. My response was normally, so I can beat your car with almost 3/4 ton of extra weight while playing my system.....all while only using a 4 cylinder.....and a huge turbo haha. Should be a nice build though. Let us know what you think about those subs compared to others when you get it all done.

What do you have for suspension upgrades?

I'm not sure without seeing the actual dimensions, but I doubt you have room for the proper size aero's with 3-18's. Even though it may not be the most cost effective for you, changing to 18's with the proper coil configuration would probably be best to maximize the Stetsom.....or even go with the 15's. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though as I'm inexperienced with wall builds. I could be completely wrong in my thought process Hope it works out for you regardless of what your decision may be. I'll be watching your progress with the build

I can't decide which I like more. The audio setup your building or the big ass turbo. I agree with the 4 15's and the port going l That would look nice. If you go with 2subs I would do O l O I think 3subs would look better in a straight row. With a round port under each one. If it will fit. OOO ooo

Very nice build so far, I likey, a lot of money invested for sure, I would go with the 3 18s, but could another option be to ask stetsom to trade your 1 ohm for a 2 ohm? that way you could stick with the 2 18s?
