People just don't understand what they're ordering and how the company works when the make an order. When it takes longer than a week or 2 to get their subs or recone they flip a lid because they didn't read the terms and conditions before hitting the order button. I've made a few orders with Fi, they've all gone extremely smooth. Make sure you're willing to wait a little longer than if you were to buy from most any other companies for the build time.
  3. I just got done drilling on J for 10 hours. We did 4 hours of drawing/design/layout and 4 hours of line work yesterday. Then the 10 hours of shading/coloring today... I bet his arm feels like raw meat right about now. I feel like the make a wish foundation right now, he is happier than a fag in a peter patch.
  4. So far, xcons have surpassed every sub I've ever owned also. Best sounding by far. Way better than w6's and with the Wiring options make them more real world acceptable. I see no reason more people aren't using these!
  5. Did it tear or come loose? Reason I ask is that it's unusual for the higher end JL subs to fail without some type of user error. Trying to eliminate any potential user error issues before you throw something else in there just to shred it as well.

lmfao..you're joking right? the problem here is people can't read the FLASHING RED LETTERS ON THE WEBSITE..that says "x number of business days" ..they think that you order it..and it ships right then and there and that's not how it works. i'm nick..i've never taken anybody's money and not shipped their stuff..i've been heavily involved in the industry for over 10 years... where ever you got that shit..is nothing short of total bullshit...point them here and ill correct them
  7. I honestly have to say that's one of the most thought out, best laid out, and complete first posts I've seen. Kudo's to that! I knocked out the main body of ur post to help with reading a few comments to your questions and concerns. I believe you're heading in the right direction for your rebuild. Though I do have to note that the sub you currently have does have the ability to do very good in the matter at hand. Perhaps playing with enclosure placement, a new enclosure, etc. for it would be worth a try before spending that much time and money rebuilding. Then if you still can't get the output and response you're looking for go ahead and spend the time and money on the upgrade. I believe I've heard those Type R's do come alive in a ported enclosure, and given you're only feeding it 300watts an efficient ported enclosure may fit the bill. Just a thought.
  8. Bro that Mayhem 12" will crush a 15" Sp4, mad deee beeez
  9. Current project: I will glass from the inside, in order to cut sanding to a minimum.
  10. Thank you! They sure make the 4runner move, I have been told when I play low notes it lookes the the runner is moving up and down. I have not seen that, but if I do I am going to video it.
  11. thanks! i wish ssa had an amp line, i just might try one. To build an amp up to SSA standards would be not very cost effective I don't believe.. Just my opinion. But with SSA's motto being built in america, I'm assuming that principal would still apply for any future products. And IIRC, an all american amplifier may cost a bit compared to what other brands offer watt to watt. Also, iirc, some pieces that are produce in every amplifier are only produce in other countries, which again, would go against the SSA motto. But if it could be done, without a doubt I would too buy!! If I'm not mistaken Aaron or Mark said it is something that they might consider. If so I'm right there with you guys.
  12. So you didn't say: I'm definitely not someone who starts shit on here, but I don't like being called out either. If you weren't trying to say...."same build house, same quality" then what did that statement mean? Only thing I meant by what I said is that from what I have "heard" their amps more than others have failed, once you fried yours, for w/e reason, I took it as to no surprise. Only because your case only adds to the other stories I have heard in regards to their amps. BTW, buildhouses offers different "options", so not "every" amp is built up to the same standards. j/s
  13. Again I am happy that you love your XCONS! They are by far some of the best drivers that I have ever owned. I would put them in my top three and I have owned a TON of different subs.
  14. Damn. Hard life.
  15. baller peng..... truly baller.
  16. It would have been too loud so I figured I better not. Actually they are all getting ready to be shipped. Well except the q.
  17. Alright, not much going on here. Having to completely rethink the amp rack, looks like I'll have to build two, one on each side of the rear. Good news tho, got the PR's yesterday!!! I want to give a BIG thank you to Aaron and Mark for allowing me to have PR's made with the XCON dustcaps and logos on them, a BIG BIG Thank You to you both. With the PR's in hand I can start on the enclosure building and now for a few quick pics of the PR's.
  18. Psh jay-cee I got 2 15 zcons 2 15 sp4s 2 15 xcons and a 15 fi q just sitting here. Get on my level! Jk Seriously this whine fest over a $2 sticker?
  19. another steer and queer cowboy lmao Nice comeback bro and whos crying about stickers, haha try again. "Help me please, if my stickers fall off my sub Im gonna have a bitch fit."funny how people with small shitty set ups know more and the ones with better and bigger set ups know less lol one 15 come on bro we are not in the 90s no more lmao
  20. So Yesterday I finnaly got time to work on my car again! Decided to redo my radio harness, when I purchased the car it was cut so I ran all my own wiring but lost things such as door chimes and such. Any how I picked up a donor at the local junkyard and got to work. Here you can see I had to work the harness up through the top of the dash where my hazard button sits. It was too short to repair it any other way. Worked it back down and into is original position. I also pulled all of the wiring for my old setup. Made a couple Mdf rings for the kickpods hopefully I wil get to work on them today.

  22. steve didn't say anything wrong..... jesse is local to me now.... i should go talk to him i need more high profile friends
  23. Steve, there you go. You just need a TV show and Jesse James.
  24. nothing in this build has come free. I work very hard to build this car. I don't expect any freebees... All though it would be sweet Haha.
  25. No wonder the hatch got messed up... You guys can't handle your liquor!!! Hope it all gets fixed man!
  26. Has absolutely nothing to do with performance but i saw it and had to have it lol. Makes it look so much better to me at least.
  27. It's VERY LOUD in Florida...I heard. J/k I'm being an ass lol.
  28. i am still having issues but went to a show for demos anyway to represent. even not at full power its still very impressive. I did a pretty cool 4 bottle, bottle trick bbut my video missed a lot of it. i didnt burp it but i did a 155.6 streetbeat run and took 1st. another 1st place for team SSA.
  29. Need to take a step back. You need midbass to lower midrange, not sub bass. AND you need it up front. The real question is what can you fit up there and what will it take to make your chest pop. For the style of music and budget you like I personally would recommend an active setup with some pro audio mids up front. Assuming you can sandwich an 8 or 10 up there. The rest gets tricky, but metal is completely different than what most people ask for and I think your focus is being misdirected by reading a lot of threads by bassheads. As for the rules comment, SQL isn't a term that is used on this forum. It means nothing and is just stupid. No offense to you. Think of it this way. SPL is about making a box as loud as possible which in turn means having the peakiest frequency response as possible, SQ is making a box have the flattest frequency response as possible. SQL would then be a compromise of two polar opposites. Makes no sense. Would sound like shit with metal too. Definitely buy SDS. Bang for the buck and helpful response from the owner are WAY beyond all other brands. Some other issues with your plans. An epicenter is a useless joke, the SMD is even worse, it is actually a shame those asshats sell it as it is a complete waste of money that does NOTHING positive. Truthfully almost any sub will do, but I'd definitely find one that is suited for a sealed enclosure and roll that way. You DON'T want an IDQ, way overpriced for a mediocre driver. I like your goals. I like the fact you've done a bunch of reading, but now I am going to challenge you to think about the reading you've done and hopefully allow you to realize that it's been biased by bassheads. If you are truly a metal head you have a complete different set of needs to fill and REALLY need to focus on the front stage. The rest is easy
  30. Ok guys I have good and bad news. I am going to sell my truck, but not before I make a couple more videos. My next build will be my Toyota 4runner.
  31. gotcha i'll take one back at 209native kind sir

  33. Tell your 'friend' that this supposed no name sub shares some DNA with the BTL. They are in the same class and both are great values for the amount of material, machining and very high quality made in the USA fact compared to Chinese copies for the same or more money. No name sub, hahaha.
  34. soundigital is one of the best brands out there for amps... very good amps... got to make sure you have the electrical to run those amps though.

It could have been settled before it was started. Until the next time. . . .
