  1. OP is either trolling or is a complete dumbass.
  2. Also, To the "You need to sell at OEM prices" argument. Absolutely not. OEM work does not involve anywhere near as much work as the Fi product line does. OEM clients buy hundreds of speakers at a time and they are all the same which makes it easy to build and do. Margins are VERY VERY VERY slim doing OEM work in the USA so you have to sell hundreds and hundreds of them in order to make a dollar.. I don't know about you, but I don't think you would like to bust your ass for 10 hours a day and walk home with 50 bucks in your pocket. That doesn't exactly pay the bills and earn you a living.
  3. Consdiering a 20 dollar hunk of neo previously is now 114 dollars..I wouldn't be bitching if I were you. It's still cheaper then anybody else on the market, you can go pay 1800 dollars for a Z series woofer if you would like...that's known as raping the consumer. The price is only adjusted to the cost of materials going up..which EVERYTHING has gone up. We ate it for quite some time while I was there and the reason was waiting until the SP4 and Team versions of the subs were available, or near available. If you don't like it..it's as simple as not buying it. Go pay 1800 dollars for the Z series woofer or 1000-1200 dollars for the DC neo woofer. (and no, i don't work there any longer)
  4. 4 sa-8 v2s tuned to 29.5 hz. amp is a older RF bd1500 pro.

  6. Another quality thread from chris the man.
  7. What is a good answer? You want somebody to agree and say that Fi is ripping people off? Shit well if that's the case then DD is gettin you up the ass with no lube. If you want to attack one company because of their pricing (the CHEAPEST company...cmon now) then you have to attack them all equally. If you dont like Fi Car Audio anymore, I'm sure your business will be welcome at Digital Designs. They have plenty of Neo for WAY MORE MONEY. EDIT: Where's your price sheet to prove us all wrong homie?
  8. If you acknowledge the fact that the cost of materials has gone up, then how can you justify your stupid ramblings about an increase in end price? Profit margins still need to be met, and in this case you seem to think that their margin is quite high. You fail to understand basic economic principles. I fear for our future because of people like you.
  9. I know when I speak to them on the phone.
  10. How about you read this or just even take a glance at the chart and that is how people know how much neo has gone up. If you bought that sub only a year ago it would have still cost nearly double the price for the magnet only 2 months later and this does not even show the continual price increases that are happening. If you read this article it basically explains exactly what you are after. It even talks about how companies were eating costs for a while as they tried to figure out what to do which is what Nick explained Fi was doing also so just get use to the price increase as it will not be going down any time soon. http://reefbuilders.com/2011/07/09/neodymium-prices-magnets/
  11. Go fuck yourself. Don't like it don't buy it. Nobody owes you an explanation
  12. Typically people will use more power than they're rated for the overhead. Due to the dynamics of music even though the amp is capable of much more power output than the speakers are rated they rarely ever see it and when they do it's for such a short amount of time that the heat is dissipated quickly and nothing gets hurt at all. As long as a person is sane and careful with the gain volume knobs everything is generally pretty peachy. The speakers usually get a little louder and sound much cleaner than with rated or less power, usually. As for an upgrade in speakers, that's a completely subjective subject. In other words, what sounds good to you may not sound good to me, or anyone else. You'll really need to try to have a good listen at the sets you're interested in to have a good feeling on what sounds GOOD to YOU. Online reviews and recommendations are always far too biased, tainted, or misrepresented to be blindly trustworthy. That being said, I've gone out on a limb many times and bought something that reviewed well, or was highly recommended, but I knew what I was getting myself into, knew the risks and costs involved and made that decision accordingly. If you can't listen to them before you buy them be prepared to take a hit and sell them for different ones.
  13. Glad you are liking them.
  14. Nice and I noticed as you were smiling when Jordon was expressing some pain. Great work! I love my job!! Nice work sir. I will make it out at some point. I will DEFINETLY make it worth your while. The tender spots just 'have a little extra love'. Its healing up well tho. J

Just received an email from Don. Very descriptive and thorough!
  16. Cool, I hope you get it on time!
  17. mow the lawn, clean flower beds, wash her car, cook/clean dinner, and vacuum the house/clean the windows. takes a whopping 4 hours but they love you oh so much more. my mom is 59 and loves to do all that except vacuum since i have a black lab in a house designed for a golden retriever. She also enjoys being able to relax on her day off and just enjoy playing with the dog and having me do what she usually does. I am employed though and pay some of the bills around the house so she is already grateful. easiest thing though, buy her a card, write a heart felt note in it telling her how grateful you are of her, and make dinner. moms are awesome like that, the simple stuff is what they love more than flashy stuff (from their kids anyways).
  18. Violent! Zcons are so beast. Need more voltage
  19. didnt get much done today... got most of the wires ran... no pics of that though... did get some good pics of the amp though
  20. Should be plug and play pretty much. One side connects to the output from the radio, flip a switch for rca, and other side on loc has rca outputs. Radio - LOC - RCA wires to amp. It should also come with some instructions, should be straight forward if you haven't looked at it in hand yet.

I keep turning my bass up on the stock stereo trying to get some kick out of it. Lol I even considered buying a cheap amp just to run in the mean time. I had the same feeling when I was addicted to heroine--I feel your pain. Apparently drugs mess up your spelling as well.
  22. Anymore info on this? I'm reconing soon and would love to rock the new caps.
  23. I've been following your build elsewhere.. good stuff man!!!
  24. Looks good man! I'm also a Dayton audio fan.
  25. And I can't wait to listen to it to get it reviewed, lol! :D :D :D Thank you! Thanx man! BTW, need to get info from you on the IAK T's..... They're alot like ported, shouldn't be much of a difference. Can't wait myself to see how the XCON performs! Will be starting on the box ASAP, or as soon as work quits kickin my ass. And don't worry, I always post the pics as I take them. If work doesn't have me tied up AGAIN this year you can count on it!
  26. Threadstarter cracks me up. Cost to build a subwoofer: $100 The price the thread starter wants to pay for that subwoofer: $80 Makes no sense?
  27. Lol. I asked because...why would he ask someone with the screen name 16K who has Soundigital in his sig who ALSO has a build log posted where he shows the amp...So make sure you know what's goin on before you assume that I'm just post dumping.
  28. First off...you seem like a genuine Fi fan, which is cool, but at the same time you seem like you REALLY don't like Fi. Which is it? I've never seen either Nick or Scott boast their product over another company's product unless directly asked "which subwoofer is better" in which case they reply with the FEATURES of their sub, not downtalking the other sub. I'm not sure why you think that the guys at Fi think they're better than anyone else. Secondly...the price of neo has more than MULTIPLIED BY FIVE, and you're complaining cuz the price ALMOST doubled? Are you serious? They're making less and less money off of each sub and you're upset? I ask you this question, as a serious question.? What do you want them to do? Make less and less money until they go out of business? Just so you can feel better? Look around bro...look at DD prices, look at DC prices. Not Team prices either, because you're not looking at the Team price for the N3. If you feel that Fi is trying to steal from you then just buy a sub from a different company and be happy. EDIT: And if you think people are getting rich off of building subwoofers.....then nothing we say will change your mind.
  29. So do you expect them to eat the cost of the neo and other materials going up in cost? It cost them more to build them now so guess what that means... ding ding. You pay more...

  34. I'd save the $1200, keep the JL's and put $$ into the electrical or other items that really matter rather than dumping it into a new amp you don't actually need.

Please, do keep us informed on how it goes. So yeah, we finally got the infamous powdercoated blue 390 XP. It is sexy as hell. Wished we coulda got it closer to when I paid for it back in July. But, guess I'm one of the "bad luck" customers. and the hell with biebers car. lmao. You would have if I could have paid attention to what I was *supposed* to be building.. I cant apologize enough for that.. Soooo, got the alt hooked up. About exploded my front battery. Its showing 19 volts. We called Stan, he is supposed to talk to a tech. Maybe its the wrong internal regulator? We tried the "sense wiring" and that didnt work. Its not the blue wire for my truck. Any news on this, Rob, Stan, Kyle? If it cant be a fix that I can do, I need it sent back in to get fixed asap. thanks.
