  1. The boat's getting an Xcon. Won't be doing any hair tricks, but I might actually post a vid when it gets finalized of a wave trick. Pretty sure it'll get my hull going enough to make some waves.
  2. I called Don at sds on Monday for some advice for stiffening my doors to help my scores. His advise was for a product he doesn't even sell. That type of service should be offered by all companies. Not just sell some high priced product that is not needed. He took a lot of time explaining different avenues I could take and how each would affect different things. My hats off to Don, thanks buddy. I did order 40 tiles to use to seal up the doors and help tame some of the resonant noises. Ordered Monday morning...arrived today on Wednesday. Super fast shipping.
  3. finish up the new panel for the amps today, and i'm going to make a piece up cover up the gap i still have to repaint the port

Fixed at 24 dB now. SAX-1500D v.3 PHOTOS AND SPECS: ORIGINAL THREAD SAZ-1500D: 8.30” x 2.32” x 16.53” -- WITHOUT MOUNTING FEET Little bit of testing in Derrick's Explorer -- using my Extech power clamp meter (which always reads low vs. separate meters method) : 26 Hz 46.6v 43.7A 2036 Watts 1.06 ohm 27Hz 48.2v 40.4a 1974 watts 1.19 ohms * The fan blows through the board to expel air out the sides of the amp. 5. So ive been at it since april but i just finished on saturday...took me forever cuz i have had so much work...
  6. Today at the car shop, the owners wife is a real estate agent, so we got to talking and so now im actively house hunting!! Woot woot the first few house we looked at are at amazing prices, talking like, 500 a month! And some have 2 or even three bedrooms. Some even have phreaking garages at that price! Ccrazy lol sometime within the past two days, my zcon managed to knock down some interior lights my shop owner is a virgin win it comes to current under ground equipment, and is totally aposed to the equipment i speak of. You know one of those old timers who believe if its not a dollar a watt, then its not real. So tommorrow i will bring in one of my nendos and the zed l3 and the icon to show him whats up hehe
  7. What kind of enclosure do you have those SA15s in? If you want more output I would get a little better amplifier and work on the enclosure to ensure you have what is working best for your application.
  8. If so, bad idea. Depending on the coil configuration on the drivers, you would be better off wiring all three together on the existing amplifier. Before purchasing another driver, how do you feel about your current enclosure? Did you build it, or a shop? Do you know the specs as far as volume and tuning? Reason I ask is the enclosure plays a HUGE part in the end result.
  9. We sent him a gift basket to help lift spirits a little.

Tuning is preference based, generally based on misconceptions as to what is best for daily, so I won't suggest much there. 10ft^3 is pretty big, so be sure you don't need the space. Volume = width * height * depth. Take into consideration the wood thickness. IE: using 0.75" MDF, and making a 12"x12"x12" box would be 12 - 0.75 - 0.75 = 10.5" 10.5"^3 = 1157.625 in^3 Divide 1157.625 by 1728 to get cubic feet. You end up with 0.669921875 ft^3 Don't forget about the displacement of an additional panel for "double baffle" if that's done, driver displacement, bracing displacement, and port displacement. Port area for a slot port is width * height, or 3.14*radius^2 if using an aero port. Port length will dictate the tuning, but it's also dependent on the enclosure volume, so if your off on the volume, then your tuning will be off as well. I would choose the amount of port area based on the port speed when modeled in a program such as WinISD. Too small port = port noise & possible reduction in output. Hopefully this gets you started, and others can chime in on other specifics such as how much port speed is acceptable, or how to calculate for port displacement. Don't be afraid to use the search function.
  12. That last photo looks awesome!
  13. Nice install. I love it, I love it, I love it!!!
  14. Time for a new one. A boob trick. Props to those that can get them oscillating out of phase with each other and with an amplitude of more than half the diameter.
  15. That is in the storage area, not the passenger compartment. If they state differently their lawyer sucks. Of course, being it's been more than 20 years since I competed or read any rules perhaps going by my reading of that isn't such a great idea.
  16. This thing gets better everytime I see it. Congrats on the windshield!
  17. I will be sure to get in your car next time man. I'm not sure what Anthony said, but most people who judge SQ are far to nice with their comments and never say anything about needs/should be done to improve the score. I'm not like that, I am nice, but I do my best to offer constructive criticism. As for SQ, it has been about the same for years now. The issue was and still is the amount of work and funds it takes to stay competitive. The other issue is that SQ is very subjective and is never scored the same.
  18. People learn and people teach in different ways. What you perceive as "knocking down" may not be so at all. You have to remember that true emotion can not be conveyed through type. For instance, you've changed your screen name to chill, yet the way in which you post shows much animosity, You've typed about people showing respect then also typed about not giving a fuck, so there's blatant hypocrisy. So what I see is you talk about change, but deep down, the demons are still there. I applaud you for making the change, for trying, for realizing there was a problem. I used to get into fights all the time, not give a fuck about anything, etc. . . It sucked. It's hard. I don't know what changed for me, but one day it's like I just got sick of feeling like that. But my demons sometimes poke their heads out and no matter what. they are always there. It's all a matter of how you control them. Good luck to you in your venture towards happiness, just remember to keep an open mind and remember that everyone has a different perception. Well said. A bit more detail on the teaching part though. A teacher that does the problem for you is a fail, a teacher that makes you think, ask the right questions so you learn how to solve the problem yourself is a win. It is never the other way around.
  19. Couple more pics, of these beauties.
  20. Thank you everyone who keeps our team moving forward!
  21. Keep up the hard work and positive directions!
  22. Damn bro, you had a couple days that are pretty much the norm for myself...LOL I'm in a hold pattern on my build currently. I have some other issues within my personal life that need addressed 1st. Glad to hear that you were able to recoup your money on that amp.....even though you had to take that long drive. Happy to hear the great news for the new job you'll be starting......always learning is a good thing
  23. I got some 1/0 welding wire from a local welding supply store to replace the cadence wire for my battery in the back next im going to redo the cover for the amps, repaint the port, and rear deck
  24. Went to a comp today and place 2nd in AS3 and got phat install. @37hz with my car off and passenger side door open playing lil wayne thats all i have
  25. the vertical brace came loose again and started to rattle really bad so i just took it out, until I come up with a better way to brace. aslo i am having alternator problems so i put my stock one back on but i still have the same problem just not as much. It seems that my alternator just quits and shut off at random times. I went to a local car show today at The Speakerbox and they had a DB contest. They had 2 class, less than 3000 watts and over 3000 watts, I came in third in the less than 3000 watts. this was my highest and it was on music playing dj monsta bass dropwith driver's door open. the mic was meca style at the headrest.
  26. 2 more pics with a better camera, also im going to put another coat of paint in the port
  27. I took out the vertical dowel rods and just replace them with this, and it sounds much better.
  28. Did a little work today, and I had a real bad rattle and I finally realized it was inside of my box, so im guessing one of my braces broke, so tomorrow im going to pull it out and redo it. Also I'm thinking about carpeting everything with black carpet later too.
  29. The guy at lowes was giving me tips and told me I should build Labyrinth port "because of the more vibrations it would be louder" I used my jig saw to cut out the metal. i bought me a corner clamp made & it made it alot easier, i should have bought 2. test fit, nothing went as planned it wouldn't fit with the top on the t nuts came out when i tried to screw the sub in cutting my 45° rounded over the port wall i painted it black for right now, i want to add carpet to the front and try to clean it up a little the rear deck scrapped when I was pushing the box in thats it for tonight
  30. how it arrived, but nothing was broke I redone my terminals & put some 8gauge wire in How it look now until I build me another box and clean everything up Now at 1ohm my lowest voltage drop was 11.8v, i'm going add another battery too.
  31. old school lanzar midbass, im going to make a pod from my super tweet and put it higher up on the door later My attempt to put my amps in my backseat. originally I wanted to carpet it with old carpet, but it wasn't enough to cover the whole piece of wood so i just painted it black until I would have bought some more carpet but I like the look of the black paint, so im probably going to redo it with 1/4 mdf and paint black also I should get my xcon back monday too
  32. I would go back to 2 ohms or keep the volume/gain down until you get the other battery just to be safe.
  33. Refurbished saz1500 from db-r, it came in the 3 days. "It's your lucky day, we had gotten an extra 1500dv2 in our last refurb order from Sundown, so yours is going out 6-9 days before schedule. Tracking says you will have it Friday. Thanks!" the sundown felt heavier at 2 ohms it sounded louder then the brz at 2 ohms, and now i have it wired at .5 ohms and i my voltage drops to 10 at 4 clicks on the bass knob also i'm going to add another battery
