I just gotta tell you guys that after i think 8 months of owning this i FINALLY got it in my truck. I had never heard of you before this sub and let me just say that you definitely exceeded my expectations! This thing hits and HARD. I know exactly where Ill be going next time I need a sub!
  2. From what I heard, he was far ahead of his competition and could have easily won his class, but the recones failed him and he took 2nd and 3rd for the two classes he was in. We feel very horrible that the recones failed you Steve, and we are determined to figure out how to make this up to you.
  3. Thanks for posting the build log.
  4. Sq wise it is one of the best subs that I have ever heard. The enclosure will have a lot to do with how it sounds and how low it will play. As far as "sql" subs go I don't think you can beat the Xcon.
  5. Thank you Steve!! That means alot!! When you laid down a 155 with a blown sub I was like wow, thats serious.... Mark, my next sub purchase will be some of yours. No doubt about it!!
  6. Mark, seriously we need swift on team ssa. His truck has to be the nicest and loudest daily driver I've taken a ride in. Gut wrenching lows, crispy highs and sexy as hell.
  7. Hi I bought an Incriminator Audio I 10" about a month ago from SSA as a temporary sub while my two SSA Icon 15" subs were being built and WOW. For a little 300rms 10" this thing pounds, have about .75-1" of roof flex in my Dakota Crew Cab. Built a box I designed which is around 1.25 cubic feet net tuned to around 31hz. I've been beating the crap out of this thing with decaf songs, Young Jeezy etc and it sounds awesome, and is taking the abuse of around 400rms. Would definitely recommend this for a budget friendly sub. Bass is tight but still gets really low and loud. Hopefully this will help someone who's looking at them.
  8. Vehicle: 1992 volvo 240 brick power FTW! Electrical:Big 3 under the hood, Four runs of 1/0 gauge, custom 275 alternator, Agm superstart under the hood, Two kinetik 2400s Driver: SSA zcon dual 2ohm's Bass Amp: Crescendo 3500bel 4channel amp: MB quart Q.150.4 Components: 6.5 polk MM's times two! Headunit: Clarion vx500 Whole point of this build was a high powered individual single 18 driver tuned low which in my eyes is 32hz which was musical so the only driver that could for fill my needs was a ssa zcon! The front end of the sexy BEAST! Thats a fresh paint job 20years later FRESH! Onto the build the we have a 12cubic feet gross box DOUBLE MDF all around except bottom! Ports doubled up also! Net volume for the sub is 8.02cubic with 130inchs of port area tuned at 32hz! Just slapped the wood together all gluey! Just finished working on the port time to silicone **** ho fill her up with all that white good stuff! Test fitting the box previous box was to big when i was building it. Dimensions of previous box fit inside the wagon but would not actually get inside the wagon because...the enginers who designed the hatch opening werent that smart ....starts at 48width ends with 38-37 width at the top of the hatch. sweden FAIL! But this sexy sucker fits like a used and abused ho! another caulk photo lol just for you caulk whores! Buddy decided make it more interesting start his box build at "The SAME DAM TIME" who needs a extra hand pshhh.... All the glue squirting out i dont play around when it comes building box's i want a bond between my wood. also believe wood squirts so if you play if it be cautious for the after math!!! when it comes down to it my moto is always BONDO that HO that shut her up! no one likes a leaky box specially after using shat tone of screws smashing the mdf together for a strong bond! ****You smell that i think im high from the fumes...no its just braincells leaving my brain**** Time to make a hole 16.75 be exact! Something i have to admit i really love bondo i think we have a bond! finally got the hole cut out went threw to jigs my harbor freight one took a shit on me had to curb stomp that bish! omg a spider is near my CAULK! primer the inside of the box just had some sitting around big believer on makshuring no little holes leak air!! better look at some color in the box then bare wood that just looks naked to my eyes! WHITE WALLS i think i built a crazy house! All you see is whiteness, its the twilight zone all over again. Ordered some light swag for the wag ebay FTW!, Little break from the build 55watt HID green headlights low beam from ddtunning. 5050 300led strip 16.4feet from ebay green 18$ shipped for a tri led waterproof could not pass up that deal! is it a ufo or a plane NO its a wagon! not just any wagon! A custom 240 wagon! i never would of thought of putting underglow on this wagon lol but it was cheap and fun little project. Lights inside where previous installed and ordered from ozium, Looks really bright in real life and NO strips showing anywhere all hidden. some grill flash show them teeth off! that was a little side track trip for all you picture whores. the box was done so all i had to do was give it a good sanding and throw some paint on it, i was feeling glossy black. I sanded it sprayed some primer on it and sanded it again starting rolling some paint on it and started to realize some spots where not getting covered the paint just would not stick! i said F*** it i want hear this monster it doesnt look absolute shit its bearable for the time being. Any ideas please chime in. Didn't mask out the port wont see it anyways side port. the box is done for the time being till i redo the finish on it. photo of my fail box with two 18inch zcons in it 4.5cubes net each sub after port with 175port area tuned at 40herts. Was really peaky and major port and box flex sounded LIKE GARBAGE nothing to do with the zcons it was my improper building and thought process at the time. Enclosure is most important thing when it comes to the performance of the driver never forget that if it doesnt fit go smaller! plane and simply i learned it the 150$ way. on the bright side some one is going to be a proud owner of a zcon 18 cause im selling one of them no need for two if i cant utilize them both. took that box out and used it for the stash area for all or tools for the box build lol served a great purpose for that so much space to work with 9cubes to be exact. Temp 18 box ughhhh so small and blah! Time to throw the real monster in the shagging swag wagon. Little insight at the power behind this conspiracy. not that clean looking specially the two rca's with masking tape on them but its just for reference not to use them since they dont work anymore. The speaker bar with a bundle of wires four runs of 1/0 gauge not that easy to make it look pretty but i think it looks tamed. Another great thing i can fit another 2400 in the middle if i ever needed to fit nice and snug Threw the box in and wired it up OMG is thing bad A*S. Loudest i ever had in the wagon hits the lows like a monster and all other notes makes you laugh at the things it can do to your favorite song! Hard to see going take some more photos on a bright day just started feeling like fall down here in the south now..... well thats i always like pointers or insight on what yall think i want take offence to anything crazy!

  11. Congrats on your success brother. Looks like the sky is the limit for you!!! J
  12. You know at the end of the day I had a good time. I met some cool cats. Swift, dbsupra, hank, all of the iak fellas and their friend and familys. Zack metts helped out in a pinch, swift also. Couldn't have had a better core group of guys to hang out with and help with the car. Thanks to all you guys for trying to cheer me up. As far as the car goes..... Amps are for sale $900 each w/ box Zcons are sold.
  13. im trying to get this guy to use them, if he can use 9 Gcons in a spl set up then this will greatly help the Gcons standing in spl use,. ..... like the SA.
  14. Curious why you even think there is a potential downside to the Gcons? Be a complete win if you ask me.
  15. Welcome, I wished I had found this site before getting back into car audio. I would not have bought a 5 channel amp. I wouldn't have settled on what the local shop brands were. My ultimate goal is a get a 10" or 12" Icon/Xcon in a ported box in the trunk pushed by a ZED minatour. I am happy with front stage- older German made MB Quart 6x9" component system getting 75 watts and EQ'd by an Audio Control unit.
  16. There might be a double din in my future....
  17. I have been looking around and can't find any info on this unit. Anybody else have better luck finding information on the features? Digital Time Alignment w/ 3-Way Crossover: Digital Time Alignment assures that the sound from each speaker reaches the listener at the same time for perfect sonic imaging. The 3-way crossover separates the sound into different bands to match each speaker's output range. The head unit provides various settings based your system's speaker configuration. 18. Some guy just called me baked out of his mind asking about an amp I had for sale on CL over a year ago. I don't know if we talked a year ago and he saved my number or what. Anyway I was laughing my ass off. He offered me $100 and a 20 sack
  19. I like making faces at you while you are working.
  20. If your having a hard time deciding between a Q or BL then pick the BL.
  21. What we have in stock is available on the SSA Store. You need to get the dang black hats back in stock !!
  22. Actually your voltage is 14259. You should get that looked at.
  23. That way, I have 0 voltage loss, more power. you also have a bit overkill in the selection of ladies available to you... just sayin'
  24. That would only prove that the louder sub (which we will assume that's what you're trying to achieve) works better in the install than the other sub. In another install it may be switched around. So one sub isn't ever "better" than another. That's why wer figure out what the install is going to consist of before we figure out drivers.
  25. Here are a few videos of ONE Xcon 12 on 600 RMS. I know it is hard to believe that a sub rated at 1750 RMS can get loud on low power. This is for all of the people that think they need a ton of power, or the subs RMS to get loud. Remember this is a single 12 on 600 watts!!!
  26. S. DeYoung was awesome. It was my first purchase from any online classified, ever. Went way better than expected, look forward to future business.
  27. Looks good and by my guess it appears like it may have gained some efficiency. curious to see a test!
  28. Sounds like a good idea.... Get it started there Steve.....
