  1. The enclosure is going to make a HUGE difference. How much space do you have? Are you thinking ported or sealed? What equipment do you already have? We are going to need more information to offer you good advice.
  2. If we wanted someone gone, they'd be gone.

No disrespect taken Jon. I am with you an misconceptions as well. I was trying to work with the info I was given. I have watched your car being built on the forums. I have always enjoyed your project. I retract my statement about it being a waste.
  4. Grandpa J, he shows up and is quiet and observes amd then says something wise, but probably forgot to wear pants. Because he is grandpa and generally an awesome do anything for you guy, we pretend he has pants on.
  5. Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he phrases certain things, but we know he has a point in what he says. He also has the cool toys most of the family doesn't. -Tirefryr is the cousin we talk to who is much like M5 but minus the toys and who doesn't drink so much. -Sand is the great uncle. A bit cranky and will tell you how it should be. No fucking filter, no sympathy. He lays it out for you and you get the advice you need to hear. If its also what you want to hear, cool. If not too fucking bad. -Nem is the crazy cousin who is ALWAYS doing something to make us say WTF in a good way. He is a jack of many trades and a master of terrifying the children. You.........your the new brother in law that somehow got in the house and drinks all the beer and bitches when we have none left even tho you brought nothing with you. Calls us cheap asses for not having more, while telling us of your life and how shit has fucked you up. Secretly we all wish she wouldn't of married you, but since we are now stuck with you we try to help you as best we can. Too bad you never fucking listen and always bitch when shit turns out so wrong. J
  6. Hey guys, I am officially starting another build. Rather than post only pictures I am going to take you guys along for the ride with video updates! Enjoy! Phase 1 is making my amplifier rack. Starting with making some insert pieces to hide the amps.

  8. i found a SSA sub on my plunder too day..... i serched "dat ass" and a SSA sub poped up .. http://s1263.photobucket.com/profile/iChrisTucker
  9. I would measure out the area you have to work with and go from there. The Gcon gets my vote. We have built many enclosures for them not heard a single negative review on those drivers.
  10. I have been running a 12" gcon d2 with a 2.5 cuft. box tuned to 36hz on 750rms power and the sound is fantstic. Can get loud but it has awesume sound quality. plus you dont have to use that much power 500rms is plenty.
  11. That would be hoot. I am not good at frightening people. Well..... at least not in the way your customers want to be frightened. We learned something this year, people enjoy being startled much more than frightened. I think what happens is when you frighten some one they shut down and hide their eyes and don't see anything after that. When they are startled, their senses are heightened and looking at everything and wanting more, which makes their haunt experience much more entertaining for them. Matt you would fit right in and have a blast! That is the word. Startled. I don't do that so good.

no dount friring forward and sealing it would help with trunk rattle, but IMO only if the back seat is never used,. and you can keep it folded down. and as far as firing thru the back deck.... dont do just the port. you will run into issues, cutting the back back out and putting a falt top on it would work better.... chris i was not trying to atack you ..... but in the car audio world.. a young man will tell all his friends that deadner is a waste of money and blah blah blah.... i just hate furthing misconeptions. thats all..... i too have almost a G in just deadener and MLV and in my case firing forwerd is not an option... but i am exploring that in my g/fs car. a honda. seems to be most popular
  14. Don't worry about him, it appears he did not get the responses he wanted to hear and wanted his account deleted.
  15. A bit cranky? Fuck that, I am downright nasty until I get some bourbon in me. Yep, I got a ban button right down there.
  16. As a guy who doesnt compete and really knows nothing about belonging to a Team in audio competition, my common sense tells me that someone worth the company giving special pricing to doesnt need to search out contact information....
  17. i understand man. i really like it here and it feels comfortable to be here. i don't bring anything because there are alot of people that either take me wrong or i know somebody else will chime in who has alot more "seniority" i guess you could say. i use to hang out in the RF forums years ago and felt how i do here, then the SMD forums and couldn't stand it because everybody was a know it all even when they didn't know jack. i know that a lot of you guys here are very close. i know that i'm different, but i hope that i'm interesting enough to want to keep around. i really like it here, but if you guys would rather just stick to what your comfortable with and get rid of the unwanted "brother in-law" then thats alright just tell me and i'll walk away. your sister and i haven't had any kids, i have no ties. i'm not gonna lie i'll miss chatting with you guys and reading all the funny shit, but you know how it goes. i'll tell you what, if you don't want to just post it here on the board i'll keep an eye on my PM box and if a few of you guys who have been here for a while like M5, Nem, Godsmack, tirefryer and a couple others send me a PM, even a blank one, i'll be quiet and walk away without any hard feelings. i respect you guys and who you are individually, each of your personalities. You worry too much, just ChILL.

  19. So I have been thinking about putting a Dcon 10 in the wife's car. The current sub is very shitty IMO.
  20. Acting weird is something I do. ;0
  21. yes sir.. i sold them to him over a year ago for 600..... i felt kinda bad but it was his idea... so i gave him a run of 0 gauge before he left... i guess i should not feel bad it was his idea.
  22. i just dont get this guy, where do you get off??? if you go to walmart a bag of chips is 3 bucks..... when you go to the gas station same bag of chips is 5 bucks.... do you get all pissy and call fritolay and tell them that the gas station is trying to rip you off... and you eat chips in your city so you deserve a special "asshole" price " bro"
  23. well i guess crossfire is the same as fi and AA too then right, your a fucking dipship. and you THINK YOU KNOW some shit you have no fucking clue about,... if you were as good as YOU THINK YOU ARE> teams would be approaching you. re evaluate your self worth. how about taking a step back and fucking LEARNING a thing or two, maybe then you wont sound so fucking foolish when you sit down at a keyboard
  24. Wait a moment. Let's back up a tiny bit. Do you seriously think Brad (impious) is a troll? He is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced on this site, I might know. Also, the price that the brand sets and tell's a shop to sell at, is not being ripped off. It is called an NDA, meaning we are bound by contract to sell at that price. I would prefer not to piss off AA just to make a few more sales, I'll always leave the undercutting to the shady / slimy types that keep popping up trying to make a quick buck in car audio. As for team pricing, owning a brand and being a past competitor, 90% of the time, if you have to ask for a competitor discount, you probably don't deserve it. Meaning, it has to benefit the company, and most of the time, they will search out competitors that they feel would be a positive addition to their competition team. Just a little food for thought.
  25. If you're only comparing RMS rating and price you really shouldn't be getting team pricing for anything.
  26. thanks man yea i tried thier email but no response :[ yea i would buy from ssa if the price wasnt so high im buying a bunch and im a competitor so i have a ton of stuff i have all ready thrown money for on this hoping they can get back to me So you basically want to get them at a discount because otherwise they are out of your price range? Simple solution is to either 1) buy what you can afford instead, or 2) save up more money. SSA isn't expensive...they are selling them for the price they are supposed to be sold for.
  27. I'm a little confused when you say mounted to the door, and not door panel, but have mdf baffles on the door panel?

I'll start this off with a list of equipment used: 4 12" SSA Gcon Sundown Audio SAZ-1500 Alpine 9887 6.9 ft^3 Net 35 hz tuning with 12.3in per cube with 3 6" flared PSP aero ports On with the review. I bought 4 12" Gcons the hour they were released, and have been using them everyday since having them show up at my door. Competitive burping, ground-pounding, demoing both spl and clarity, and I'm more than happy with my purchase. If you can see through the vlurred bision these subs cause you can literally watch your car shake apart! Gcon left, Fiday X right Turn the bass knob down to blend with the front stage to really show what bass can add to any music. The Gcons bass reproduction is pin-point accurate. The tight double drums or the beat of a bass guitar will leave you with a smile on your face every time you really listen to your music they way it was meant to be heard. After about a month of use I broke down and upgrade to the Gcon's rated RMS power via a Sundown Audio SAZ-3000. It was an instant upgrade in overall performance, but the biggest gain I saw was the lows. I was finally able to really get these subs moving and "wake the lows up". Even at low volume I'm surprised how authoritive these subs sound. I can hear every note these are meant to play very clearly, and distanctly from each other. I've yet to hear any sort of distortion from these subs, no matter if I'm demoing or burping. Every time someone new gets in my car, the first comment is how low these subs get and how great they sound. They truly do pack a punch, don't let their price tag leave any doubts on quality, performance, or spl. These will do anything you ask of them. And do it well. If I can't express how these sound or how top notch the quality of these subs are in words, just know that I'm truly happy with the Gcon line. I don't care if there are cheaper products out there, I don't believe SSA products can be touched for what they are. American made, clean, and loud. What more can you ask for? @ ~ 26 hz.
