I would make sure your setting are correct on the amp. As in for the back channels on the sub is the amp set to low pass? If your buddy knows much at all im sure it is, but double check all your amp settings, even post a pic if you need help.

First of all, what caused it to fail? Need to figure that out first before you fix it.

I'm actually in the middle of getting mine back from Tenney. Sounds like it could be a fishy regulator as well. I would see at what RPM's make the alt start charging and it could definitely be resolved with an overdrive pulley if it isn't something too high. I would say if it starts charging around 800-1000 rpm then an overdrive would pick up the slack. I'd have to ask if you know whether or not your vehicles alt is internally regulated or external by your vehicles computer. That would be the big determining factor on if you could use another external regulator as well.

You MUST run more than a speaker is rated for to make it boom loud.

Not a manufacturing issue..a speaker is an input device, if you do something wrong it smokes and stops working. It only does what you tell it to do in the environment in which you place it in. It's no different than buying a brand new car..taking it 100mph in 1st gear on the interstate and the engine flies apart..that's not because it is a bad car, or the car had issues. It's because you did not shift to the 4 other gears that the car has. Again, it only does what you tell it to do in the environment in which you place it in.

Well, on Friday, I beat the hell out of the Evil. Did a lot of driving around town, about 5 hours worth totatl and gave the evil all I had lol. Took everything with no problem. She got hot of course, really hot on the magnet and the coil. Then today was a show, was really bringing in a crowd around my vehicle. A LOT of people really liked my setup. Kept getting complimented on how clean the installation was. Gave a lot of demos. And pretty much all the responses were great. So overall I'm very happy. I got really upset though because I did poopy in the DB Drag Bass Race. Was my first time, so it whatever lol. I did win a meca event though.

You can easily blow that (and any car audio sub made) sub with a 2 kw amplifier if you try hard enough. Nobody can tell you what is safe. Additionally, there are no gain settings you can accomplish that will keep you safe under all conditions. You need to use your head, and your other senses, to tell when the driver is getting too much power...

Audio is on a hold for now. Other upgrades will be made to the car first. Some new suspension parts: H&R Springs/Bilsteins Shocks This car does not have the self leveling suspension, so installation is straightforward and easy. The new springs will provide a small drop to the ride height. Nothing to crazy

Small update. I am scrapping the spare tire enclosure. I will be using a standard box that I can remove when needed. New enclosure pictures soon.

So, I'm pretty sure my d3100 finally took a shit on me. Last year in Indy, my alt died, and I ended up driving on that ONE d3100 for 60 miles while running around troubleshooting my electrical problems during that time. I've notice a big difference in voltage for about a week now. I haven't checked the voltage of it independetly yet, but I've come to this conclusion because while troubshooting my current electrical problems, I noticed that when I seperated my 2nd battery, the deca in the rear cargo area, that my interior lights would dim immediately and noticably, and my stinger volt meter flashed like, 9.4 volts or something like that and wouldn't even power on, just showed "LoV" or something like that. So anyway, lol, I grabed some Platinum batteries from Swift's build, one for under the hood, and one for the rear, see pics below. I think I may have room to slide one more under there. I hate adding more batteries, when I already have 6, but I just don't have the money for the alt bracket right now.

You only need 500rms or less unless your planning on a upgrade.
