I've got class d on my fronts and am old too. Probably as picky if not the pickiest on the site too
  2. Unless your amp power is connected to a relay to activate when the key is turned on or a button is switched or something (it probably isn't) the amp will always be on. Regardless of whether the car is on or if the key is in the ignition. This can drain your battery over time which is why the REM lead exists. Yes, you can do it and not harm the amplifier (most likely). But it isn't smart and it isn't advised. Just a very, very temporary solution
  3. Two ported would be louder than three sealed if the enclosure is the proper size.
  4. looking good nem!!
  5. Just disconnect the rears
  6. seems like some bootcamp punishment stuff lol
  7. who did you murder to get that color, Neal???
  8. Holy Fuck was I drunk last night
  9. After 6 years in storage I finally have time to build a new table for grandma's 60 year old sewing machine. I'm going to copy the old table and build it in Baltic Birch:
  10. Sounds like it'll get down. You might need another d3100 in the back. Keep what you have and check to see how you voltage is then decide. If its for daily, I would still get the 3500. No need for 5500 daily. But that's just me.
  11. Damn sharp brother!!!!! J
  12. That is some blood red paint.
  13. i have to share the fucking mistake i just made with yall, so i went today to apply for a new job. .. i text my boss to let him know i had somthing to take care of today, then after i applied i text him back saying i was done,..... well my chick text me to ask how it went.. and i told her... and when i hit send i noticed that i had actually text it to my boss ... so of course he text back " if your planning to quite give me a heads up" lol/// fuck me!
  14. Do you mean plug in the door boot, like a molex plug? Sometimes if there is room, you can drill a spot big enough in the plug to sneak some wires through, but be carful no to hit any other wiring. Pain in the ass, but can be done. Or drill new hols and install aftermarket boots.
  15. really? thats bullshit imo. we should have the same chance of running fom a cop as they do catching us. I'd be more worried about outrunning their radios. Or their helicopters.
  16. btw, when both eyes are open I can't raed the screen
  17. maybe a red led strip to light up the back of the sub so you can see it through the lexannnnnnnn??
  18. Damn fine work sir!
  19. How many amplifiers are you running? If you were running two amps, for example, you might be able purchase THIS and THIS which combined is 46A but only $100, 20% cheaper than the one you linked. Good thing about PE also is if you wire them up and run into noise issues, you should be able to return them pretty easily. And their tech support is awesome, if you wanted to call & discuss the supplies with them.
  20. The tracking number is: 1Z6759270392723919
  21. you may not need to if you plan to keep it at a low volume , but if your going to be listing to it loud or moderately loud for long terms then you will, other wise it will cook the power supply ..im assuming you will be running a sub ? i learned that the hard way,
  22. That looks like a Meanwell. You have to make your own AC power cord for those. also, look at the required AC voltage to so you know which phase to wire to. I run a sundown 100.2 on just a 20a power supply. I didn't need all the power so i used an ammeter to set current output to not exceed power supply's capability. Pulling more than 6A from the sundown amp, things start to move and eventually fall off the shelves so i keep it turned down.
  23. you will need batteries for a reserve, i have done this a few times, even built a few sound rooms for audio companies this way.. i have learned alot the hard way.
  24. I feel that way every time I rub one out.
  25. It better be cheap then. 100 more horses and a 1 second slower 0-60? It'll still have shitty chevy interior too.
  26. Not a big fan of the plexiglas in the subwoofer box. I know you will make it look cool. Post up some more pictures! If not here, in the huddle
  27. Oh, we have already fallen, it's just taking a long time to hit the ground due to such great heights reached from our predecessors.
  28. If you have the budget, the ZED is killer. But the Crescendo is very strong and worth keeping in your consideration.
  29. you do NOT I repeat DO NOT need that many tweeters.
  30. No wonder you were peaking so high...your enclosure volume looks much better suited to a single hx380d than a pair.....
  31. Are you saying $250 is too much for this amp? I would gladly take this $250 650 watt Alpine over any of $250 1200 Korean or chinese amps.
  32. Alpine is A high end brand name. So they charge more.
  33. 4.2 cubic feet is a bit small for an 18, I would say go for the 15.
  34. Those holders are known to get hot enough to melt. For the few bucks it would cost to replace, its a no brainer before you lose your entire car/system to fire...
  35. troll? Absolutely not! He is on the Tech team for a reason!
  36. damn... maybe i should buy about 40 of them and get my own underbody kit and massive soundstage all at once

Lots and lots of deadening. I also stuffed foam and carpet in the very back of trunk that had open spaces. I now have two layers of deadener on my trunk everywhere i could get it and it makes a difference. Only other thing i can do at this point is weld the trunk shut. also trunk lid now weighs alot so its hard to open for the wifey so be careful.
