That's cuz u ain't got no loud wufferlers i now demo 40 hz test tones from youtube in my car.... i took a tip from the pros over at skar, then used the DD1 and now im SMDSKARD

I doubt that any of us saying that a DD1 is useless use a scope to set gains. Then what do you use? Just a DMM? Which has no sense for distortion? You obviously didn't read this thread.

Not my reason at all, it is a waste of money.

Super legit seller! Bougbt the Fi SSD 18 he had for sale and from the start there was great communication. Shipped immediately and VERY secure! Better than Fi's packaging. Wouldnthesitate to deal with again!

What amount of clipping is important to you? I removed your efficiency comments as they don't make sense and until we conquer the reasons why you are so interested in clipping it is pointless to discuss anything else. i agree its pointless to discuss this any further .So you will come in blazing and attacking and won't answer a very rudimentary question? Even if you don't on the forum you should for yourself. My only goal was to try to make you think of the answer yourself as then you'll actually believe it, but either you did realize that your whole logic is flawed and don't want to post it or you are so brainwashed by the morons on SMD that you won't post. The first is okay, the second really sad.

I don't hate Steve Meade. His spot is just down the road. He's a marketing legend. People love to see his demo reactions and his work. He's a good guy. Doesn't mean the DD-1 is any less worthless. I'm not going to buy something just because someone tries to sell it to me. That would make me the sheep. Everyone here is a wolf.

A couple points. Yes I read the rest of the thread first, but this post highlights the misconception you are having. First, ignore whatever that shop told you. They no jack. Second, if you want to detect a "moderate clip" to use your wording then please tell us why. I guarantee the DD-1 will still NOT be the tool to do so. I am also pretty sure that once you think about it you will realize how absurd it is to even want to, but perhaps you have a reason we haven't thought of and we'd love to hear it. After you express that then share with us how you will detect it on other songs that aren't recorded at the same level of the song you were just listening to that had the "moderate clip". Then perhaps contemplate the answer to the why I had you answer above. DD-1 is absolutely useless. Terrible if you want to compete and absolutely useless for something you just listen to music on. Pretty much means it isn't good for anything that I can think of. Did I miss something?

statements like that are plain ignorant so only dumb pepole use an o-scope? Did I say dumb anywhere? I was told by the shop where I could turn the volume and I listened, I was confident nothing would happen and it did. Is that the scopes fault? No it is my fault. I like how you say that I made an ignorant comment and then you put words in my mouth.

all im saying is by ear can get u close but no way it can be set dead on .There are no tools you can use to set it "dead on" either. Music dynamics, Hell even power supply dynamics are enough to never have the ability to be constantly level matched. This is the basic fundamental flaw of the dd1.

It's very useful when used as they designed it. Their design principles however, are the foul here. It's just another one of those "tools" that people think is cool and will buy on ignorance. This guy who is on Youtube and has done nothing more than stuff a bunch of woofers in an SUV on a bunch of power and run around recording people listening to his shit, and people think he's cool and he knows what he is doing. The fact of the matter is, he's done nothing special, in fact, anyone could have done this. He's taking advantage of his "popularity" to make a buck. It's that simple, but people see his videos and they automatically assume this guy is really good with audio and knows what he is doing, so they'll listen to whatever he says.

Even Steve and his designer ran from discussion here as they realize they are selling a worthless POS

The reason why one track is louder than the other, is because music is dynamic, and so is the source from which you obtained the song from. That being said, it is clear to see why the dd-1 is a waste of a tool. Sure, it may sound great on Track A, but on Track B, its not the same, so are you gonna reset Track B to sound like Track A? Maybe, but then when you go back to play Track A, you blow a woofer or two. Do you see where I'm going with this?

  26. The ONLY time you should break something in is if you need to measure the T/S parameters for modeling as they will change after the suspension loosens up.
  27. Was looking for a bad ass sub. Thought that would be a sundown. Was directed here via the all powerful interwebs. looking at subs in the store and just happened upon the forum link. Been here soaking it all in ever since...btw I never got the sundown sub ...I am running SSA!!!
