  1. looks fcking sweet Neal!!!! what foam is that exactly??? linky pwease
  2. SCCA solo Sunday. #3 STX class.
  3. do ppl even read comments anymore or view videos? Or just read the thread topic and comment on another note the Indy 500 is also hosted here in indy..duh the track is in the middle of a neighborhood, loud ass hell for 2 days. One of the biggest events of the yr, no complaints and you can hear those cars miles away I keep editing lol. Also.... Most places like outdoor arenas, race tracks ect, the homeowners association has to vote in order for the place to be built in the first place I do believe. For instance when I was in high school we could not have field lights, so we couldn't have football games at our school. No field lights because the home owners didn't want the noise. Basically if your gonna move into a neighborhood do your research first, don't just move and then complain about living next to a landing strip
  4. How can we sleep when our beds are burning?
  5. "Damn bed caught on fire again."
  6. Instead they make fun of them...... I for see Slamology not lasting much longer.
  7. Raw drivers are cheaper than components so it is rather easy to sell what you have and buy something more appropriate.
  8. on a home audio system let's say a 2 way setup where you have the tweeter and the midrange drivers in the exact same enclosures (as in a left and right cabinet) ... Would you time align the tweetes and midrange drivers separately ??? I have all the time in the world to get this thing set up the way I want ...thats the beauty of building a street machine yourself !!! Randal, I NEVER said anything about time alignment. Just passive or active. As for your other question of passive not working, I'd NEVER say that either. However, with the amount of work you are putting into this using off the shelf crossovers is asinine. If you build custom passives based on in situ measurements then is all I have to say. Personally I am too lazy for that in a car when running active is so much easier. Off the shelf passives are designed with a TON of compromises. Considering the enclosure building, location manipulation and so many steps you are putting into this car to make it sweet not doing the same on the crossovers would be a crying shame.
  9. Looks great nem! How does the frequency response compare?
  10. Good deal. Great game. While the PS3 is capable of BluRay and DVD playback, I don't recommend it as your primary player. These units like to get hot, and longevity may be questionable. I can't complain as I have had my PS3 for years.
  11. Exactly why I stated that hopfully they do better dealing with the community over long term. It should definitely be taken seriously & approached carfully.
  12. A home owners association that is ran properly can and will get events blocked from coming back. Most of the time it is never that big of a deal, but if the call again next year...guess what show will be looking for a new place to call home. I'm not saying that is the best way to handle the situation, but I understand where they are coming from and they did take the proper action instead of just escalating the situation to a point where the show is virtually shut down on the spot. I hate to say it, but don't take it lightly when you get any kind of call from a HOA. As for the video itself. I got a laugh out of it sure..but it was distasteful as well and coming from a company that is attempting to help our industry I was rather shocked at that.
  13. No transfer brother. I am on paid vacation (using up the rest of my vacation time as I transition out) until August 27th. Already in FL and now job hunting again, as well as apt/house hunting. Also, to buy or to rent....any opinions? J
  14. dvd players... bought hardly use 160 gig PS3 with assassins creed for a 100 bucks.... i guess i did good? im not a gamer. but.. DVD bluray and ability to stream netfixs and browse the net seemed like a win to me.
  15. I find that black and white grainy look to be beautiful in it's own way.... Eye of the beholder.
  16. No, but Goodyear also doesn't make videos making fun of those who complain. I agree, those participating at Slamology were well within their right given the venue and permits issued by the city. Without knowing where this resident was and how loud it actually was at their house, I'd also agree that if they live too close to the venue then that's their own damn fault. I however agree with Stefan that the video doesn't look good for XS as a company or our hobby in general for making fun of the person, who was at least courteous enough to be polite in her complaint about the noise. Doesn't seem like the same courtesy is being extended back to her with the video. Also, I don't think you all will find that video or voice mail very funny next year if enough (or important enough) residents complain about the noise and the city doesn't issue the permits to allow the event. Food for thought.
  17. It was on a race track and the military, police, fire and EMS were there... Hell.. who else do we need? the NSA?
  18. Slamology is one of if not the biggest Mobile Audio/Car shows in the US. It is in the middle of Lucas Oil Raceway and the NHRA track. The track has been there for years and they have races there all the time. If you don't like the noise through out the summer, then probably a good idea to not live by a major race track in Indianapolis.
  19. Thanks, guys. Several weeks ago after a good wash the last thing I wanted was to hit a wall while backing up. Well it happen and things snowballed from there. The damage was much worse, but this is after some hammering. Before I start shaving After a few days of welding, putty, sanding and paint this is what I ended up with. Filler relocation Gas tank cover gone Shaved the emblem and third brake light. Damage and LPG cover are gone Washer and wiper blade gone too. If you see some color difference, well the paint is 16y old, and I am going from gloss to matte white. Blacked out my tails Nice and glossy There used to be a gas tank cover and 3 damaged places, used to Thinking about painting the middle/license panel black too for a long line of darkness. Photo was taken with no flash, stop light test for visibility. Blinkers too. You can see it pretty good considering how black they are. I also rolled my fenders while I was at it.
  20. I will throw RX8 stuffs in here as to not be selfish and have two build logs going at once. RX8 update: Before: After: Side view: Zoom zoomz: Idle video by request: After video of exhaust, please excuse the unsteady 7 year old camera man: In cabin:
  21. Ok here we go I finally sat down to upload some pics here for an update. Hope you guys enjoy. Other things planned for this week are a alarm and maybe finish up the interior. If all goes well I will be installing my stereo next week! If there is any Alternator guys out there that want to get on board with this pm me a price on a H.O. alt for 92 Honda civic!!! Ok here we go.!! Abra ca dabra brake lines be gone!!! Getting lost in tucking the engine harness Wiring up the injectors! Got bored with the wiring so I painted and bolted on my headers. DC 4-2-1s with a carb stamp! Yummy! Painted the timing cover gloss black! Ok back to lame ass wiring again! Wait time for some more wiring. For some reason I feel like I have already mentioned wiring.! Hmm maybe a little more wiring. Still not finished with the wiring!!! This is were I got fed up with the wiring and we are going to fast forward a few days!!!!! BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! She's in also got a new slave cylinder, new clutch master cylinder and if I didn't mention it earlier brake master cylinder.... Side shot! Another angle Notice the slim fan here.... I really hate my intake but it will do for now... Its getting turbo charged so it will disappear soon enough. Just another one... I needed to get away from the engine bay. I was going nuts with all my time and effort going into and still having so much more to do...! Onto the interior it was! Dirtiness everywhere!!! Here you can see the back half of my interior is blue. I already switched the dash, door panels, and center console to black so it was time for the rear half... So I tore out the back seats, and the back tailgate cover. As you can see these panels were pretty beat up. Here are the black panels. They are not perfect but way better than what was in there. When I come across mint ones I will switch them out again. The other side. Tail gate cover and all the misc. little covers too. That's hard to find on hatch backs here in Phoenix for some odd reason. Cleaned and armoralled up. See now it matches.... This was when I noticed part of my counsel is blue! you can only see it in pics lol... Time to search for a black one. Started cleaning up the front. Here is my thrashed ass rear seat that is going to be ditched for some leather seats when I finaly get my hands on some. The only ones are 1.5 hours away at the moment. Back seats in and tailgate shut. One of daddies babies. A new Steering wheel and short locking hub are to come shortly. I hate my current setup but it was all I could afford back when I got it. My SI seats that a due for a shampooing. Lol she said she was going to the store... "Hey bring me back a soda will ya!" So started with a stock insert for the back. Wrapped it up nicely to match the front! MMMMM! In she goes! Here is what it looks like from the side. I also did the other side I just don't have pics at the moment. I was bleeding the brakes so I took a quick picture of the rear suspension setup. Currently I am running skunk2s with tockico blue shocks adjustable camber kits up top on a full GSR rear Integra disc brake setup! Shitty photo but out for my first cruise 0 miles on the engine at this point. I currently have about 450 on it now. She has some power for a single cam. easily hit 90 before the end of an on ramp shifting and 5krpms. My redline is 7.5krpms so there is a lot more locked away. I have yet to hit my Vtec crossover which I have my computer setup to engage at 5.5krpms. Now this next picture was a proud moment for myself. ABC 15 new decided to come out and shoot some footage of the car! They loved the breast cancer theme and thought it was crazy a 21 guy was driving around with a Pink engine bay and what not. The car is no were near don't but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have something I have built with my own two hands broadcasted on T.V. I am awaiting a copy of the footage when I get it I will be sure to post it. Crappy Ipod pics. Enjoy all and tune in for updates. The car will be headed out to shows here in AZ soon.
  22. Ok ... Time for a few updates !!! Took out the headlight assemblies and gave them to Mike (Hyper) to see if he can come up with some type of upgrades for me ... Yes, I know that the driver's side needs alot of work before the headlights can be permanently installed. We are going to french in the bessels (chrome trim pieces) so this should not be a problem for us when we get to doing body work on the front cap ... Also ... gonna take that grille off soon and see what is salvageable (rechrome) or neds to be replaced. The marker lights will be filled in. State law on these cars do not require signal lights if they were not and origional option ... Mike stopped by and delivered something to me on the way to Scrapin the Coast !!! These look AMAZING !!! Can't wait to see them on the car !!! Thank you Mike, If you get a chance ... please quote this post and give us some details on these lights !!! EDIT: Mike is on CA-F, so as soon as he post his update for this ... I will copy and paste it to hare !!!
  23. Get a single set of components and use one of the sundown amps as a two channel bridging ch 1&2 and 3&4 to each side; or two raw 6.5s and two tweeters for an active setup.
  24. ok ... Small pic / info update !!! Chevy (74 Chevy truck) alternator installed on the old Ford Flat head 6 !!! 80 amps charging should have no problems with 2 batteies in the trunk (to be set up at a later date). Considering the plans are to add air conditioner and power sterring to this 6, I'm hoping we will not need a larger alternator (gonna have an Astron power supply added to the electrical for shows and events) ... Wired up VERY basic until I can get the new wiring harness installed, but charging good !!! New fuel lines installed !!! I know, should have been braided lines, but just need her running good until after October ... We have plans to pull the engine and trannny for updates over the winter !!! So the only thing we NEED to do to the engine and tranny is fix a small water leak near the water pump (hope I can find the gaskets) and install the floor shifter ... Got me a temporary Gas Tank !!! 5 gallons should do the trick for small rides and back and forth to the friend's shops ... Got plenty of plans for the trunk, but gonna keep it very simple until afer October ... Hopefully you will see quite a few upgrades to this trunk area before October, but nothing in stone ... Look at all that room in the trunk area !!! almost ashame that there will not be a large sub driver enclosure in there ...
  25. Fcon 12S2, aluminum coil, dual nomex spiders prototype in a 1.1 sealed.
  26. We heard you were fans of B-Stock Damplifier Pro, so we went ahead and gathered all of the odd-shaped pieces we could find and put them in 40+lbs boxes and put them on our website so you can buy them. If you missed your last chance to get your hands on some seriously discounted, seriously excellent sound deadener, don't miss this one because quantities are seriously limited. Check it out here in our store
  27. I cannot grasp how it is difficult to choose the proper hammer with which to pound a crimper with. Maybe it's just that complex. I digress, carry on.
  28. This company is out of Florida and makes CNC machined enclosures of all types. From pre-fabbed to vehicle specific, to custom. Ask them any questions you may have about enclosures. Website: https://www.soundoffaudio.com/ A new LaFountain Design built web store is in the makings as I type. SSA will be selling their entire catalog after the new site is launched as well. They will be around for quite a while and we look forward to building a great business relationship with them. Welcome!
