Yes you do. But you're assuming way too much. Your speaker is not a perfect 1 ohm deviceYour amplifier has some sort of impact on that resistanceYour amplifier is most definitely not 100% efficient. And all this is besides the point. As others point out your settings on your amplifier and the signal it is receiving is what determines your output. It also takes power to make power. It's possible that your electrical system isn't up to the task to provide a proper amount of current for your amplifier to make it's rated/claimed power. To your original post, I ran two 15" dcons and absolutely adored them. Ported with aeroports like you were suggesting tuned to about 33hz. They are delectable woofers
  2. Finally closing on my first house. Feeling accomplished!
  3. So now that pretty much everything is available in the SSA store and pictures are up, what do you guys think of the new stuff? What else would you like to see IA offer in the future?

  5. no carpet in hatch area, it's all vinyl/plastic, and is greyish/charcoal mix. Exterior is Silver. Think I'm leaning towards silver right now, but my adhd won't let me make up my mind. Million ideas a second flying around in my mind, and can't decide on any of them...

  7. Time to go drive a CTTS.
  8. Did you divide by Zero again?I read an article that the number zero is actually not nothing, but is actually the value of all other numbers including the infinite in both directions of numerical value. Mind blown!!
  9. I've done 415 in a hair over 4. Personal best has to be from Montgomery Alabama to Oklahoma City on one tank of diesel fuel in an E350 van, in about 8ish hours I think due to zero stops and 4 pills of ripped fuel.

bigger box helps power handling and keeps impedance rise down the downfall of a larger enclosure is the sub has less back pressure therefore losing its ability to stay mechanically in control... say you had a 3000watt sub and a 2000watt amp if you put that sub in a larger enclosure it will move more and keep impedance rise down therefore allowing you to get more power to the sub. Spl guys build smaller enclosures and put shit loads of power to it...
  11. according to winisd, you need 46.5" of port for 31, 40.5" for 33. I doubt you'll audibly notice the difference.

  13. to your dimensions...~2.95Ft^3 after displacements....tuned to 33hz...31hz required too much port length- 11.5x4.5x40" of port as it is.
  14. I Fucking love it and I am going to duplicate your entire process. I will shop up with packages some day and I will force you into labor.
  15. Didn't see that. Rattles aren't usually helped by a constrained layer unless you actually constrain the rattling surface, but any tape would then do that. You need to isolate the two vibrating surfaces from each other. Normally a closed cell foam or the like is used for that.
  16. http://youtu.be/BhjGD-zgoPU I'll definitely make a roll bar cage for my car. Tho with a crash like that I don't know, if anyone will be safe.
