By far the best forum. If you don't like it leave. What Sean meant by if you have to ask don't do it, is if you don't understand what it is don't jump into it right away. Learn more about how 4th order band pass enclosures work and what it would do for you. So stating your goals and what you want from a system would probably be a good start with your post. Why do you want a 4th order band pass?? Most likely a standard ported enclosure will be better for your application.

What doesn't make any sense is your crappy, never thought out questions. Same question different day.

That's don't make any since...Well how is anyone supposed to know about different subs and enclosures if they don't ask?
  5. Like it for what?
  6. Used it when I was a little more ignorant. The above statements are correct; you're only going to be able to measure for distortion at particular frequencies. In the DD-1's case, that's 50Hz and 1KHz. Also, to follow instructions to the letter of the DD-1's usage, it requires you to set max volume of your HU on a 0dB tone, then use a -5 and another -5 (or -10)dB tone for adjustment of your speakers and/or subs. I honestly don't know how this made sense to either D'amore or Steve Meade considering you're essentially running everything full throttle by using this method. One bad recording, one excessive voltage drop and things will go pop-pop-fizz-fizz. Tune by ear. Start with subs, then mids, then highs. Same exact method taught to me by Steve Mantz and if he's comfortable with using it, I sure as hell am as well.
  7. And watch them seriously puke and die below tuning. OP, you NEED a sub-sonic. The questions you are asking are too rudimentary to think you can get by without one. If you had a better handle on what happened "perhaps" you could, but it really wouldn't be a good idea. As for the comment on actually answering the question, that is a bit of crap as well. Anytime reading on the site including the terms of service you'd realize that versus threads aren't acceptable here and it is for a reason.
  8. I used to do shit like this seven days a week. I cut down to one or two
  9. He's still a customer..He's just young and not getting this forum thing.
  10. There's a very big and easy to see difference between the old UFO style BTL, the N1, N2 and N3 subs. The UFO style is just that, the bottom looks like a UFO, much like the motors on the SSA XCON's. The N's are NEO magnets sandwiched in big blocks on the side of the motor. The N1 having only one magnet slug on the side of the motor, the N2 having two opposite eachother and the N3 having three of them around the motor on the back. It shouldn't take much searching on Google to find pictures of any of the BTL series subs and match them to your's.
  11. Did you say Funky pup!?!? Maybe this will clear things up for the funky pup. 1 watt to a funky pup is like 10000000 watts to a DD Z. These are Chuck Norris’s choice, not for bass, but to replace the engines in all his WalkerTexasRangerMobile’s… 1 funky pup = 500 horses, 2 funky pups = 1500 horses, 3 funky pups = time travel. There was never an atomic bomb, there was 4 funky pups in a .25″ particle board sealed box. They stopped making funky pups because the warehouse they were stored was quickly shifting the earth’s magnetic field. As a result, most of the world’s funky pups are now stored in a secret underground warehouse below Santa Claus’s Elf sweatshop. Its not certain what exactly makes the funky pup’s so much better than everything that ever existed, but it is absolutely certain – THESE ARE THE BEST W00FERS EVER MADE BY MAN OR SPACE MONKEY!

Sometimes I just want to put on a forum that I am running a 1,000,000 watt amp just so someone can ask me is my electrical up to par.

If you have to ask, you shouldn't do it. Seriously.
  14. The ONLY reason this isn't done is because we are waiting on other people. Waiting on our CNC machines because 2 of our machine shops went out of business, waiting to get the vehicle back that we're using so we can finish the bracket, and that's it. Plain and simple.. This has ABSOLUTELY nothing WHATSOEVER to do with us and our customer service, NOTHING! We've done everything we possibly can to get this done in a timely manner and Randy damn well knows it. I've spoken to him almost on a weekly basis giving him updates and he knows everything that's going on so if anyone has any ideas that we're not trying to resolve this, I assure you that's not the case. If any of you had any idea how hard prototyping is, and then dealing with losing a vehicle mid-stream and having a machine shop going out of business while your doing it, you would understand! If any of you think that we're just blowing a customer off and not getting it done because we dont want to your wrong. I dare say that any of our previous customers know how fanatical we are about maintaining the highest level of customer service and know there's just about no length that we wont go to to make sure our customers are 1000% happy. We still ship 98% of our orders within 48 hours, and the rest within 7 days max as a general rule. If that's not good enough, then as the owner of the company I dont know what else I can do. Sometimes despite our best efforts to avoid it, shitty things just happen, and this is one of those times. But, on the upside... Reasons like this is why we spent $250k on our own CNC machines, moved into a new 5k sq foot building, dropped another $50k on a new test bench, and now have 3D laser scanning, rapid prototyping, and an engineer with an MBA in mechanical engineering from MIT on staff. Do any of you really, honestly think that we did all of that, and spent that kind of money because we dont give a shit about our customers and when their things get done? No, we did it because we build the best high output alternators on the planet, and we're NEVER satisfied with what we have and we're ALWAYS trying to be better and we wont ever stop! We also realized that we cant rely on other people and businesses to have the same desire and relentless pursuit of perfection that we do, so we are bringing all of that capability in house so WE are in control of it. I promise you, as sure as I'm living and breathing that pisses me off MORE than it does the OP that this isn't done, and anyone who personally knows me knows that. Anyone who thinks otherwise, you have my apologies but you know absolutely nothing about me, about our company, and what we really stand for because what happened here, just doesn't happen here unless it's totally out of our control and it's something we take extremely personal..
  15. And you think you have ANY room to comment on this how Austin?? This coming from somebody who bought an alternator second hand, someone who was STILL going to get their alternator fixed free when we are under NO obligation to do so since you were not the original purchaser.. You've been shown nothing but good customer service by us and yet you still want to run your mouth about something you have no business commenting about?I guess have finding someone else to fix your alternator because it sure the hell wont be us. I'll make sure your alternator ships back to you tomorrow..

you will probably be waiting almost 2 months or so. about 15 business days build time each.
  17. I feel like you should get the sundown. If you get any SSA subwoofer and WHEN (not if) you cause damage to it, you'll come straight here and complain about how poor the product is. LOL!
