  1. This makes his company shoddy/shitty: What about the thousands of dollars in stolen parts from RE before Scott sold, then the sudden start up of DC with identical RE parts? I would never buy anything from that thief, he has no clue how to design anything. He worked for a great company, stole their parts and designs, and has profited from it.
  2. I don't understand why people wouldn't get their woofers reconed with the parts from the manufacturer! They made the sub; they know best!
  3. Ok so here is the info on the sale since all of our dealers are up to date. 4. Is there a brown month so me and other Mexicans/Hispanics can buy? lolHahhahah exactly

  6. I am offended by this thread's tittle.
  7. I bought some recone from them, and from PAP for SS XXX subs (15" and 18"). They deliver fast, for sure, but I can't say their products are the best of the world, like I've heared ! some of my friends don't want to use them at all, now. But those friends are not really taking care of their equipments, so I can't really judge. I needed a recone kit for a DD sub recently, I did not try any of those PAP or PSI. I contacted DD directly and made the deal from an official dealer. DD put me in contact witht the nearest dealer. If I had to buy a recone for a Fi or an SSA sub, I would always get a manufacturer recone first. I'm currently waiting for a Fi btl N2 rcone and basket : original from Fi. Nothing else !

  9. a woman bringing you more beer? Just got the Happy Gilmore image. Yep, woman bringing more beer ftw
  10. David was part of RE, but don't be fooled, he didn't design or invent anything. He still does not to this day. He knows enough to be dangerous and make a buck.
  11. if i came off like a prick im sorry i was drunk...
  12. Lay flat seats ftmfw
  13. you gotta make compromises when you stuff 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag.
  14. Wow, so much hate. I've had two subs with PSI recones, and besides my current Sundown X-12, they were both the best subs I've ever owned. One was an RE MT 12 and the other a RD Alpha 15. David is a great guy and has answered questions for me concerning potential purchases quickly and sometimes after hours. Quality products at a great price that don't take weeks or months to get built and shipped, like some of the OEM manufacturers y'all are referring to.
  15. IIRC there was that whole RE fiasco too.
  16. Agreed. If there is an OEM recone available for your sub, rather stupid to use anything else. This whole frankenwoofer thing that caught on with the internet crowd is one of the many ridiculous fads going on right now. Having a "custom" sub isn't "cool"...in most instances all you end up with is a turd of a sub that doesn't have any engineering behind it's design or even have known TS parameters.
  17. Some of their higher up staff changed, and suddenly felt they didn't want to have an online dealer anymore. So their online presence is back to zilch.
  18. trunk box for (2) 15's 5.75 cft tuned to 28 hertz 32 x 32 x 15.75 box is single layer .75 wall thickness. The 6 ports act as bracing. Enclosure has one brace on back wall.
  19. They are completely ordinary drivers. That's not an insult, just a fact. They behave identically to any other transducer, meaning they comply with all applicable laws of physics. They do nothing that can't be explained, and at small signals they will behave as the models predict. Also, 4cuft for four isobaric subs is identical to 8cuft for a pair of non-isobaric subs. For 10s, that's fucking HUGE. So saying they are "only" in 4cuft is a little comical.
  20. Many of us have had issues with their crap tastic soft parts. I myself and another forum member had some recones go completely soft after about a month of play.
  21. There is no real engineering involved, the sub is basically just thrown together. Do they know the t/s parameters of what they build? You can't just throw parts together and just expect something good
  22. I'm jealous, I wish I never sold my two pair of AA carbons. Sounds like fun
  23. Honestly at this point in a direct swap out with the sundown, I am very happy! My front end sounded pretty good on the sundown, but the zed made the sound tighter and crisper with a hint of smooth highs. I am only running 2 channels on the zed and all settings on the amp are flat the same as my sundown was. I need to pick up another pair of rca cables to use channels 3 and 4. I also need to get a pair of jumpers to conect 5 and 6. Going from a 2 channel to a 6 channel will give me a little more room to play.
  24. Looking good! Mine just shipped out a few days ago, cant wait.
  25. That is right a ZED! More pics to come...
  26. What would be one of the most awesome Birthday gifts ever?
  27. I think PSI is a better choice for woofers that don't have recones available. JL, Alpine, kicker, sound stream, exc. Of course they know RE, cause its the old creator of RE and the XXXv1-3 right? But still, they won't make you a drop in, they want to have you to send it in. Am I saying they can't measure coil gap, height of gap vs coil and make something work? No. They can, but your PSI sp4 is not better than Fi's sp4 reconed woofer, just because you are burning up the tinsel leads by feeding 4k to it with f'd up electrical.
  28. As with EVERYTHING in audio, buying an unknown is stupid. Sure, you may get lucky but considering how scientifically everything else can be compared hopping on to the I want something different JUST and only JUST to be different is absurd.
  29. How is it hate? I can understand if they did not have some sort of reasoning, but they do. Some people rather have a woofer work as it was originally intended to work, there are no gaurentees that you will have anywhere near the same sub if you go with different parts.
  30. This is what I've been trying to tell them the whole time. Just because the sub plays music again doesn't make it good. Does David provide T/S parameters for his recones? Does he know the T/S before they do the recones? Its just a bunch of parts thrown together without any engineering behind it, like said before.
  31. http://www.youtube.com/caraudiofabrication'> Something I have always enjoyed integrating into builds or seeing used is back lit plexiglass. You can use it to light up a sponsors logo, or your own, or just to simply highlight an area of your build. In this video tutorial I show you Step by Step how you can use plexiglass and other techniques to create an awesome panel. The possibilities are endless, use it on an amp rack, use it on a sub box, use it on a console whatever! And yes, there are other ways this can be done, I just have found this way to work quite effectively! Lets learn how to make this: http://www.youtube.com/caraudiofabrication'> Enjoy, and please leave me a comment letting me know what you think or if you have something to add!
  32. I can say that I dont use psi products, not because there is anything wrong with them but because ive had no need too, yet. I do have a few friends that run their recones and I have seen them perform very well. I can say yes, going with a recone from the original manufacturer would be the best bet but unfortunately some have rediculously long turn around times, some have rediculous prices. If it was not for psi pricing and speed they would probably not be used as prevalently as they are. As for stealing parts and designs I wouldnt advertise that info unless you have actual proof. As for me, I have no problem with their products. If it fits your budget and you want to run it, go for it. If you find out you dont like it you can always sell it and try something else.
