4 pointsIt uses non inductive passive loads. They are braking resistors for a light rail train. M5, why so condesending. I have an education. Yes I understand those terms just fine. The power measurement is done via 10 bit A/D. It's about +/- 2% for power. As far as the distortion detecting, they are calibarated to 1.0% +/- 0.1% If you are more interested in how our distortion detecting works you can read the patent here: http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=20130044886&OS=20130044886&RS=201300448864 points

3 pointsI believe we have had two or three customers who were talked into Tantric and shortly thereafter mentioned to us saying they regret selling their SSA subs.3 points

1 pointI take it you don't approve of that tool either? Did I type that? Well understood. The tool lets the user decide if they want to setup the system with no possibility of clipping whatsoever if they choose. Most people don't prefer this setting in practice though. See here you go. You got it. Unfortunately, it is not marketed that way.1 point

Tantric Sounds
1 pointThe most recent IIRC, was TimmyTang with the silver Taco. His Tantrics couldn't hold anywhere near the abuse of his Zcon's, and got sick of repairing often. I believe he recently installed Mayhems to correct the issue.1 point

Foreign members : Bongo shipping : how is it?
They are very efficient, using Fedex. And the cost is not bad at all. But free shipping from the seller is intersting, to avoid double shipping costs. Black and Blue sale FTW !1 point

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
1 pointI did that with dope. I just decided one day that was it and have never looked back. Interestingly I quit heroin and coke (from crack, to powder) without any real fanfare. I got dope sick, and still jones every now and again, but I never touched it after I made up my mind... and we are talking 12-15 years worth of habit. I have quit cigs for real a couple times. I have gone better than a year twice. But it is everywhere, too easy to get a hold of. I know dope is too, but I have to go out of my way to get it and cigs are everywhere. Another thing is, and it is no secret, I love whiskey. I have a couple drinks every day. Whiskey tastes better with a smoke.1 point

1 pointOkay, so you used the word measure which implies that you understand uncertainty and accuracy. Your nooblet customers don't and/or your system is displaying non-significant digits. For instance: Kevin is obviously VERY confused on how to use the device which makes these questions extremely pertinent. Please answer. Also note, saying you use a DD-1 to measure distortion is not a method, techniques to measure distortion are very defined and rather easy to follow. How do you implement that? What in your opinion is wrong with the testing that Kevin published?1 point

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
1 pointI am beginning the road to quitting smoking again. I have been smoking longer then most here have been alive. So I bought an e-cig last night. It is just a disposable, but I wanted to see how it "smoked". If I smoke it like I smoke a cig, it burns like crazy. My throat got sore as fuck. I take long, deep drags off my cigs, and these things don't afford that. So I have had to shorten my drags, which was relatively simple and took little effort... it just came naturally. Typically I smoke a pack and a half to 2 packs a day. Today I smoked 5 cigarettes. I decided to take the next step and buy the starter pack. This provides me with 2 batteries, a charger "pack" that you charge and keep your batteries charged in at all times and it houses 3 cartridges, 5 smoke cartridges, a USB cable (for charging) and a vehicle adapter. I decided on the "Blu" E-Cigs as they are available nearly everywhere. I know they are not the best, but I don't really care. Negatives about the disposable (still charging the starter pack)... After over 30 years of smoking I have grown accustomed to the feel of one in my hand and parked in the corner of my mouth. The Blu is MUCH heavier, and a lot more slick. So it feels odd in my hand, and working with a smoke parked in my mouth is just not going to happen. The vent hole is located just ahead of the "filter". This is where smokers hold their cigs. So roughly 50% of the time I block the hole and cannot drag on the cig. Positives; No smell. I hate the smell of cigarettes. I smoked roughly 80% less cigarettes on my first day. Other thoughts... Occasionally I like to smoke dabs, or BHO. A very good friend of mine makes it and just gives it to me. I seriously use it very rarely (maybe 2 grams a year), so it is no loss to him. I have found that I can also use the e-cig as a vaporizer for my dabs. I Usually toss a small dab at the end of a cigarette to imbibe. But I will not lose my preferred method if I can make this work. No, I do not use any other drugs, but a dab is pure happiness...1 point

1 pointI agree the going by looks is not fruitful, which is why I came back and asked you guys.lol Figure some of you competitors had seen them. The Sub pricing is very reasonable....I was just curious. I think I am going to stick to SSA.(just bought another xcon to put back in my Vitara.)1 point- Tantric Sounds
1 pointshopping for subs by the look is the silliest thing i see people do... you can not say a sub is the same as another because the back plate or the basket looks the same. i had no clue they had components .. i have only seen there subs... they are very proud of them.... as you can see by the price, they do ok ... i have seen plenty of them fail... i have also seen some winners....1 point- Looking for a monster sub
1 point- question
1 pointDC did a great job with my enclosure for the 2 ICONS.I would recommend him to anyone1 point- New Component Speakers <$250
1 pointchoice of front speakers is pretty subjective, you need to hear them in person to decide which sound best. unfortunately, speakers mounted to a display in a shop will not sound the same when installed in a car (but you can probably determine your tweeter preference). for the music you're listening to you'll need a set that can handle midbass frequencies pretty well. strong midbass also requires deadening the doors correctly. you can read up on proper deadening techinique on sounddeadenershowdown.com installing the tweeter close the mid is probably a good idea. you could try other locations out as well. making assumption about tweeter aiming prior to installing and testing is incorrect. no way you can make any conclusion concerning performance beforehand. loud exhaust will not help the situation at all. Its like watching a movie in a noisy movie theater, doesn't make any sense. also, I would not bother buying rear speakers, this is another area that will only hurt the install. If you're concerned with space in the truck you could do an infinite baffle subwoofer install. this would involved a particular type/designed subwoofer(s) mounted the the rear deck via a baffle.1 point- Need help picking a Sub
0 pointsMaybe not better, which one will get louder/deeper? 12" Q sealed or 10" BL ported Louder and deeper are contrary goals.0 points- Need help picking a Sub

0 pointsDefinitely need more than a cap. I'd actually take the cap out and sell it, worth more than it does.0 points- Tantric Sounds
0 pointsI heard Murphy has a boner for Scott Atwell and any companies related. I don't know of and guys who went from ssa subs to tantric. Closest thing was Kurt sold the zcons and now runs CT sounds stuff. Not my choice in subs but it works for him I guess.0 points- amp dyno

0 pointsI do NVH consulting. Do me a favor, ask your brother where I should eat, lol. I seemingly find bad German food and not what I am looking for.0 points- sundown audio x15 d2 1800woofers.com

-1 points- Looking for a monster sub
-1 pointsi run a sp4 15 and only on a saz1500 it gets down and sounds clean and clear doing it. i've heard mayhems and they also sound very good and get down. but if you want beast sub go with some ssa evils i'd even say go with some sundown zv4's just because of that sexy look and monster surround-1 points- Newbie from Germany

-1 pointsI see a few people round here using their Components. What about there subs? I got a qoute for there HD and HDD line... Just wondering what you all thought of them...as a company and performance. Anyone running their subs? Ther look like everyone elses(Sundown, Fi, Etc)-1 points- 79 C30 Dually
-1 pointsGonna be doing a simple but effective build in my new dually. I just want a decent sounding setup that doesnt break the bank. Plans........ Big 3 Pioneer head unit Probably JL components (i really liked the C5's I put in another build) Custom glassed sealed kick panels 4 channel amp on mids/highs BC 2000 on sub(s) maybe.... unless I choose a big 4 channel to power it all. Looking at running a single 12 or two 10's sealed (space very limited), Sub choices are limited to somewhat shallow subs. I may do the Sundown SD's since I have heard them first hand and they sound ok. Vehicle and photos of interior-1 points - NEM's Evilinator!!
