  1. I would probably have to agree...best sounding sub I've heard. No doubt about it!
  2. In an ideal, perfect world......yes. One thing that isn't accounted for is the difference in power compression. Having four drivers would allow each driver to receive half the power compared to only running a pair. Due to this, the four drivers would experience less power compression. How big or small of a difference this creates is going to depend on many factors. And since no car audio manufacturer that I know of publishes power compression figures (Quentin is close with his Ethos since he's publicly stated how much power compression there is at rated power, but a lot of pro audio manufacturer's publish power compression vs power input over several ranges), it would be difficult to predict. But it's theoretically possible for power compression to tip the balance from "negligible" to "audible". Then there is the other consideration of the four drivers having less excursion, which would lead to lower distortion. The difference is relatively minor still though in this particular comparison. On the other hand, in the case of the Xcon, it only costs an extra $20 or so to step up to the next size compared to the many hundreds of dollars it would cost to purchase 4 drivers instead of 2. So the cost-benefit is probably not there.
  3. OMG, no! Do not ever use Champion, especially in a mod motor. Motorcraft, Bosch, or NGK.

I've dealt with Tantric Sounds a couple of times when purchasing drop in recone kits and have had nothing but excellent CS and products. People do not realize what drivers the owner of Tantric Sounds has designed and engineered. All the hate over a little grammar etiquette is plain asinine. It's a forum for cripes sakes, get over the narcissistic ways that has plagued this forum for years now. As to the minion follwers, get informed before posting ignorant remarks just because an authoritive ass hat has replied. The Ti basket issue is not an issue when you look at it. So many brands have and continue to utilize the Ti basket. So many new cookie cutter brands are coming out with a new sub and they all utilize an open tool bakset. Welcome to the world of "Made in China". It's not about to change anytime soon.

I believe we have had two or three customers who were talked into Tantric and shortly thereafter mentioned to us saying they regret selling their SSA subs.

The most recent IIRC, was TimmyTang with the silver Taco. His Tantrics couldn't hold anywhere near the abuse of his Zcon's, and got sick of repairing often. I believe he recently installed Mayhems to correct the issue.

Everything you say, type, how you type, etc will reflect on your company. Get used to it.

So when someone acts like an idiot and someone says, "you are acting like an idiot" it is the person who calls out the idiot that is at fault? Do realize you are the owner of a business and typing something that is permanently logged. EVERYTHING you type you will be judged by. If your skin isn't thick enough to take both constructive and destructive criticism and just adapt perhaps owning a business isn't your thing. And btw, I am not affiliated with the forum at all. There is one thing that sets this place apart in the car audio world and that is bullshit doesn't fly. Obviously the remark hit home since you changed. You could have left it at that.
  9. OMG, no! Do not ever use Champion, especially in a mod motor. Motorcraft, Bosch, or NGK. i prefer motorcraft or NGK .. but shitty more popular plug was used IMO
  10. im going to get with another one of my shops in the morning, they should have a core ready for me to pick up.. and it has the same injectors, they owe me a favor.. so ill grab a few injectors from the core, and replace it.. and see whats up
  11. i know what you mean, if the lifter is collapsed then t he valve wont open correctly
  12. so i picked up another navigator, when i test drove it was missing and had some other issues... we agreed on a price, and a list of things to be fixed before i picked it up.... a tune up being on the list, so i assumed the mechanic fixed it because he called me to come get it.. so foolishly while the mechine finished up some small shit, i went and put the money down and signed the papers, as is of course, i go out to leave.. i start it up .. and its missing! so i jump out and tell home boy its missing. put the computer on it.... cylinder 7 not contributing , same as before, so i assumed it was the coil, ( a very common issue with the fords) so i ordered a coil, today i finaly had time to replace it.. so i went down to the dealer.. barrowed some tools, .. removed the asshole of a coil cover, then i was scared to see a new coil was already in #7 .. fuck!. so replaced it anyhow... still missing, ... shit! so i checked to make sure the coil was getting fire.. yup. checked for crank case pressure ... nope. used a stethoscope to try to check for the injector firing, and it sounded like it was opening and closing, no smoke, steam or anything from the tail pipe, no oil in the water.. no water in the oil... so i went in and talked to ole boy, and were going to do a compression test in the morning, but.. unless its a valve i cant see how the cylinder can be dead. so at this point im praying the injector is clogged,.... its a 32 valve 5.4 dual over head. any input
