  1. The color in mobile is very nice!
  2. If you were to utilize the Gcon, just out of curiousity, how high would you have the Gcon /Dcon play? Funny you would ask. Its in my daughters car and I used a punch 400x4 trans-ana J hooked me up with. It uses the xcard so whatever one is in there. lol Not to mention I used a Epicenter to tie into the factory stereo.

some of you may know i have had a new car for a while now.. and i just started working on it, i would like to share some of my updates with you so far, 2 runs of 0 gauge + 2 runs of - 1 orbit cell under hood 4 D31T batteries Pioneer FH-P8000BT 2 neo pro 8's 2 Bohlender Graebener Neo-3 1 sundown 100.4 1 sundown 4500d 2 nightshade V1 D1 chrome baskets, OG. but i have these sold this week and im picking up a pair of the ns V2's and this list will grown this is just a starter list more pics to come,
  4. I can now view videos on my iPhone, and like the new look also
  5. Showing how it failed repeatedly, isn't really a testament of greatness. More like showing a weak spot. That's just the way I'm reading it anyway.
  6. Think you need to charge that cell bat.lol
  7. Again, I will reiterate, a testament to how much abuse this subwoofer can handle.
  8. Appreciate that I am in audio for a while still -- I have discussed with several people about my desire to eventually sell the company and start a craft brewery, though. Could be a while, though!
  9. From what i hear, the owner of that company, Sean(can't remember his last name) is also the same guy who is going to take over Sundown Audio completely once Jacob transfers ownership over to him in the near future. That I can confirm is incorrect. Sean is in charge of the Team program as I do not have the time to appropriately manage it any longer. As of right now ownership of the company isn't going anywhere.

  11. No. The voltage doesn't split, you are sourcing more current, not voltage. The gain knob position is meaningless, having it cranked all the way to the right to get the level you want is exactly the same as having it cranked all the way to the left to get the level you want... It means nothing... You don't need a line driver. When you add it, you may be able to turn your gain down, but you will have an increase in distortion since you added another gain stage (the line driver) into your signal chain.
  12. This seems like a good place for this.
  13. Look man, there's no way possible for any of us on here to do any sort of real testing on an amplifier. Testing an amp with a resistor bank still isn't even good for a general idea. These tests are 0 worthless.Sad that your sarcastic statement is the most accurate thing you've posted in the thread. Trying to make amends would be to actually do what was discussed and think about the test. Backpedaling is not doing that. Probably better you quit if you are too stubborn to actually think. Good luck running a business that way.I don't need to backpedal or think about the testing as I have said several times and obviously you're not intelligent enough to understand what I posted. I guess to come on here and explain to you again that I don't support the testing and or results again is futile as its obvious you can't comprehend it the many times I have done it already. But I could always bring the chalkboard in here and treat you like a grade school child and put it in a larger format and break the words down for you but doubtful you would understand it then. You aren't man enough to admit when you do something wrong even when you get caught and called out publicly so there again your character remains at the bottom of the barrel. Good luck with your ventures forward and have a good life. I'll continue on in this industry as I have for the past 26 years and making accomplishments as something that no one has seen from you...
  14. Wouldn't it be better to educate the people instead of continuing on with saying the test is flawed. Seems like a better use of your time. Here we are once again bickering about the test that was given instead of using our time to move the subject forward instead of sideways. Makes more sense.
  15. I wasn't defending anyone or anything if you read my posts. I was just making a point of instead of bashing anyone or any test it would be more tactfullnes to say that the results aren't interesting to you for the equipment used should have been x,y and zip parts and conducted this way to be more accurate. As far as taking this thread personally theres no way, but the direct attack on me about my product was uncalled for and unprofessional.
  16. Yea, 10k with a clipped to shit wave. So that's hardly overwriting the previous results.
  17. Like ive stated plenty of times, I don't agree that the clamp are accurate samples of output power of an amplifier but im not going to attack the person unless I have viable information to back it up like the correct equipment to use to test correctly. Truth is is that their isn't a perfect way to test these amplifiers as is theres no perfect way to test speakers or spl as there are to many variables to be perfect. I ( like someone else stated ) remember plenty of discussions in my engineering courses that ended up like this thread has. Its not my place to give an equipment list of what was used to do the tests cause I don't personally do the testing. Everyone seems to like the new amp dyno but I can see where it can be off as well in testing. Im not taking anything away from anyone or any equipment as long as everyone can understand that there are variables in everything with testing so take testing as something with variables. I will concede that M5 has viable points as long as the understanding is there that there are more viable points out there. We don't all have to agree all the time and I will apologize for anything that I write that comes across the incorrect way. Everyone here on this forum deserves to have educated threads and this one has gone way off course. In the future can we all try and work together for the better instead of bickering, that's all im asking.
  18. that's why its been stated several times that he doesn't claim the tests to be perfect but to be used as a general idea. I hope after this thread is done that people learn how to truly comprehend what they read before they attack people and make themselves look worse than they should. This is supposed to be an informative thread not a bash on something without giving anything positive to further the education of the people that don't understand thoroughly the subject at hand
  19. Going through I don't think they meant you were bashing the company/nick but others. I don't see how they're being sarcastic. Impious, tirefryr and shizzzon were trying to explain. M5 was the only one being sarcastic and was only doing it because tenacious is annoying and ignorant. I don't understand why you guys don't listen to these guys... Zero tact and constantly talking in circles rather than being direct. Discredits whatever they see fit without truly explaining why everyone else should discredit. They act as though they're %100 right, but fail to fully disclose why they are correct and someone else is incorrect. They scream tolerances and calibrations yet never give any real numbers. They never ask what the given tools tolerances are and if they have been calibrated or when the last time they were calibrated. Just because you have technical training behind you and some real world exercise, doesn't mean you have the right to discredit everyone else. It's easy to sit behind a computer and seem all so intelligent. There's a common factor of why a lot of people don't like this forum. Maybe you should go and seek some education and then you might understand just how much money, time, equipment, etc... goes into testing, measuring, certifying etc. Right now it seems that all these guys are "talking circles rather then being direct" but you clearly do not understand this subject. Once you go out and find the necessary knowledge, then you will realize how right these few guys are. Until then, argue on and have fun!! I more than understand this subject. This shit is simple, yet you tech team dick riders and "tech team" want to make this complicated. Maybe you should take some laxative and the rest of the tech team to get rid of the bull shit you guys are full of. I swear you guys could ruin a wet dream because one of her nails was .05mm too long. Yet, every post you make shows how little you do understand and your inability to comprehend. If you understood what was happening and comprehended what has actually been discussed and challenged here, you would never have posted. You keep stating people are typing in circles, yet the ones whom keep complaining about it are in fact the ones doing it. Everything has been explained to you; you just won't allow yourself to understand it as you would have to admit to yourself that you don't really know as much as you think you do. Don't get upset, this happens to us all. How about taking a step back, and just thinking, these guys ARE right and why they are. The simple fact is, the man who did the "testing" and posted this information is simply a hobbyist. His results can not be relied on, yet many people whom don't understand this WILL rely on his "testing" simply because they don't know any better. As long as there are uncontrollable variables, the "testing" is pointless. If ANY of us conducted this "testing" in a similar matter, the "tests" would also be invalid. If these "tests" were being conducted by a lab, by a professional, all testing parameters would have laid out, explained, and discussed in length before any testing had begun. Than and only then could the results be relied upon and only after many amplifiers had been tested not just one or ten. What you idiots don't understand, is I understand what you guys are saying. It's not I'm trying to understand swahili. I've not claimed I know everything, I've not claimed you guys are wrong, I've not claimed Taylor is %100 right. Most of the information requested is readily available. Even if you're testing in a lab, there can still be unforeseen variables. Slight change in humidity, maybe the temperature dropped two degrees. First test netted you 9,620 watts, then all of a sudden your next test nets 9,800. This test wasn't to be accurate down to a millionth. Just because it didn't go directly over second base, doesn't mean it's a foul ball or of the park. CEA testing is about as useless as tits on a hog.

  21. A lot your guy's responses remind me of soup sandwiches.
  22. Exactly. If you challenge them, then you're %100 wrong. This whole thread is dancing in circles. The tools used to do these tests are published. It's not like they're hiding... If you're so worried about certain things, go fucking look them up. Also, it wasn't just a "clamp test" But lets only focus on one aspect of this whole damn thing. God forbid we open our eyes wider This shit reminds me about the argument over linear vs progressive spiders. Shit was completely ridiculous. You guys focus on one little aspect.
  23. im glad you like to misconceive everything that is written and argue so much. its a perfect example of being closed minded. there is more than one way to skin a cat. seems as you would rather be condescending upon people than anything else. thanks again for proving my point for me. I hope you are not the hero for anyone on this forum as it would simply be self condescending upon themselves.
  24. Its funny that if I wanted to I could get the same measuring equipment that zenon uses for just over 10k including two 400 amp power supplies directly from the same company they got theirs from. my point was he uses several fluke and ue meters all which are 1% tolerance by manufacture stipulations. and incase you don't know both ue and fluke are the same company both of which are owned by matco tools. Im not here to argue but as I stated before I believe tfade is just getting an idea of the power and has never claimed itt was or is an exact measurement of the output of the amplifier. His testing methods are consistant and he has plenty of amperage and voltage to back up any amp. I believe everyone is forgetint the fact that he has stated many times its not exact and is meant for just an idea of power.
  25. Being a business in this market I'm curious.. I don't think you guys make amps but let's say you did. You spend a shit ton having it properly tested and this guy goes telling everyone it does xx and spreads it like wild fire. Would you question his methods then? Im with you there but on the flipside, why go through the trouble of multiple people questioning the method with no input on what would be the proper pieces to use. it would be the same as going to the optometrist and him telling you your glasses are wrong but not giving you the information of why it is wrong and how to fix your glasses.
  26. Instead of talking about how inaccurate tfades test equipment is lets think about telling him what you might think he needs to have more accurate testing. There has been no talk of this equipment and or better equipment. I can bet I can go to korea with an amp in hand and go to all the manufacturers and put the same amp on their testing equipment and get slightly different results. I believe tfade is using the best that he can get his hands on and being as fair as he can. We all know its not perfect or 100% accurate but it gives an idea and that is his intent. All the bashing isn't going to help him be better. If you guys have the knowledge of better testing equipment then tell him instead of just going on and on about how his equipment isn't up to par.
  27. Going through I don't think they meant you were bashing the company/nick but others. I don't see how they're being sarcastic. Impious, tirefryr and shizzzon were trying to explain. 28. Yeap, I have no idea what's going on. I'm completely clueless. By no means have I been bashing or soiling Nick or IA's rep. I have no reason to that. Maybe you guys forget what they've done for me. I haven't. No one has answered my questions yet but I knew that would happen. It's always a dick measuring contest. Who can be the better sarcastic prick! Soup sandwich.
  29. More useless information and talking in circles. Had there been no validity to the test, I doubt Nick would have responded in person on facebook and CACO. At the same time, it shows Nick truly cares about his product wants to further investigate it. Had this test been complete bull shit, would he have bothered with it? I don't think so. So there's good and bad coming from this test.
  30. Since everything was done wrong even though none of claim to have read the review, please enlighten us as to what he did wrong? .9 volts is not going to net you another 2k+ Like I said, I'll wait for the retest.
  31. It wasn't just a "clamp test" There was a "clamp test" done. Taylor has a new scope on the way and will retest. There's very few people whom I would trust in the car audio world, but Taylor is one of them. I've seen his amp test setup. It's not a red neck garage. Hopefully the retest will reveal some better results. The NS-1 didn't do so well either, but it's also designed as a high voltage amp.
  32. Here, use one of these turbos. lol....
  33. 1 point
oh a sweet mark very nice. what color,. thanks guys. i just got most everything installed ups fucked me on my 4500D remote gain.... so i gotta wait for that. im ordering new subs from sundown this week. and these tweeters are very nice!
  34. I will once again throw it out there that it is one hell of a bad weak point when mounted non inverse and inside of an enclosure with any kind of screws. In the event you do not have a screw driver/drill it could be too late and your car could be engulfed in flames if they are really getting that hot. Especially for some idiot doing phone book tricks just adding ignition to the already molten hot leads.. lol I love you Senchez!!
  35. Um.. i just read the whole thread as of 2:46pm EST and i see nothing wrong with the amp.. The amps "blew" because of human error. The testing wasn't done at RATED voltage. Lower scores = human error\ sub malfunctions. Wait until the people providing you with information has facts. Also, owner of IA would not release something like this if it were bad. IA is a lot bigger than you can imagine.
  36. I posted my comments to this already, alot of this is blown out of proportion. I find humor that someone can do a test and yet everyone on the net thinks that we all of a sudden we make a horrible product. Look at the post and read the comments, the test in my mind isn't valid. But the amps still makes between 7300-8600 watts depending on how you view the results.
  37. Objectivity is out the window with most car audio... People who don't understand what is actually going on perpetuate all this BS.
  38. Not even clicking the link because it doesn't matter what it says.....a clamp test is meaningless. The rest of it...meh. Just because you read it on the internet doesn't make it true. As 95Honda correctly stated, majority of the internet car audio crowd doesn't understand objectivity. They do one thing, assume it's a foolproof method of comparison when it was flawed from the start, and then the rest of the sheep hop on the bandwagon with them. Having access to equipment that produces numbers (clamp meters, SPL meters, etc) only makes things worse because the assumption is there that if they post numbers, those numbers must be valid. Which couldn't be more wrong.
  39. It makes me feel old to pull the "back in my day" line.....but it wasn't that long ago $1/watt was reasonable and $.50/watt was a pretty darn good deal. Now you have all of these internet rebadger a selling amps for pennies and suddenly $.28/watt is expensive. Well sure all of the other guys stuff are cheaper when they're ordering amps like it's a Chinese takeout menu......order an OEM buildhouse board, make a couple small changes and throw their label on the heatsink.
  40. Testing not done in accordance with manufacturer specification, un-calibrated cheap test equipment, questionable load (I couldn't see it)... I have never tested any IA equipment so I cannot comment on their quality. What I can comment on is a meaningless test. This is the problem with the mobile audio world...
  41. If he used a clamp and drew ANY conclusions then anything this Taylor does should be taken with a grain of salt. Obviously clueless.
  42. But, but, but, it didn't do rated. It has to be flawed.... But but but.. the owner said he will retest because all testing prior to marketing is correct and will retest.. However once he said that.. many people started bashing the "potential" for his other products to be flawed, etc.. I only trust the owner and\or companies who do this for a living. If one person can be trusted to "fail" an amp publicly, then all companies might as well shut their businesses down because you know what they say.. The customer is always right... So professional testing must be pointless.. We don't care about getting close We, as a business community, care about doing it right. Why would a business rely on a customer's test as the official ruling of their products potential. That is the dumbest thing i've seen this year so far and that's pretty damn bad. But keep supporting the "close testing". We'll support professional test results.
  43. Some of you guys are missing the point. It has nothing to do with the power made. Even if there is a retest and the results are different it is not a valid test, that is the point. If the amp would have made a gazillion watts I would have taken one glance at the test equipment and laughed... I have had brand new, un-calibrated other than factory cal, Fluke 97 IIIs that were off by 30VAC (while reading 120VAC)... These were true RMS, $500 DMMs... It isn't common, but it happens... Is the load non-inductive? Is it cooled? Is it rated for that kind of power? How much ripple is on the DC input? Then you throw in all the really cheap garbage test equipment that you can't really trust... The stuff is good for troubleshooting, but not for validating performance measurements... I could care less about IA's amplifier performance. But when I see tests that are obviously flawed, I think it is worth pointing out... Stop riding the internet bandwagon and use your brain...
  44. That is the point, the equipment in the video wasn't that of a professional. It was mostly cheap, run of the mill, hobbyist grade stuff. Again, great stuff for troubleshooting, but not for trying to give accurate certification of claimed specifications. This kind of why most "clamp" tests are out the window. And, for the record, the equipment is out there to do proper testing, it just costs a lot more and isn't really justified for 99% of us... Who knows, that amp might make less power with the proper test equipment, but it is irrelevant... But this is falling on deaf ears, so I won't try and get you to understand this anymore.
  45. lol.. Nick? no.. It sounds like you do not know IA well enough to say that. But by you saying that.. it sounds easily like you care less what IA says in their upcoming retest just for the hell of it. So i'm done.
  46. Finally, someone with some sense. Or two people without sense, just depends at how you look at the glass.
  47. are these your song's, open access, or are you selling someone else's work?
