Wait till you see the production model this fall. It contains a few components and tech never used in a transducer.
  2. Interestingly he still has the "SSA Store Valued Customer" banner under his username.....LOL Kudos to you Aaron for delivering top notch customer service once again. It's unfortunate that despite your best efforts you still have to deal with bullshit like this from customers.
  3. It took a full year for mine to fully give up on twice rms. That being said, my piss is bigger than yours? lol. It just happens to different people at different times man. lol didn't mean to sound like an ass, but I know exactly what you mean. Lee swift ran his 3 sp4 on 12k, and never had an issue. Then, another iak member in indy beat the living piss out of his 4 18s on 4 m3a's for hours, and no issue. So, idk what to say haha, just shit happens i guess No I know you didn't mean anything...Yeah I see people all over when I go to shows beating the crap out of them but I guess all great companies can have fails from time to time. I just hate it when people say all items made by that company is crap....I am on my 3 set of subs from FI...I had BL 12's and Q 12's before.....Keep moving up to the big boy stuff....lol Same here I've used icon, zcon, and evil only the evil failed, which had the leads that are under suspect and it didn't fail, it was just under my abuse
  4. Sounds good too as I got me a little demo today. I was impressed
  5. Some people know how to set the gain correctly and some obviously do not
  6. Thanks for making this harder Q. If my wife leaves me because I decide to buy this, I'm billing you for child support.
  7. This is the only one and the only one ever built. This driver cost me $390 to build. It's a steal at $400. If the buyer needed recones it wouldn't be a problem.
  8. Like I say man, it WANTS a smaller box! haha just grab a 15" box with an 18" hole. May need a little bit more port, but it'll be fine.
  9. "Sorry, but we are not affiliated companies. We own Fi and Ascendant Audio." Fi AudioNot affiliated as not the same company, Fi builds speakers for SSA.
  10. Yes that is correct, they OEM for SSA but they are not the same company.
  11. This makes me wanna make a video of my current T1 in it's current enclosure before I swap out both for my Fi BL and it's Fatbox USA enclosure. So I can have a comparison video when my new setup is complete! ..Here is the new home for my Fi BL that's on it's way some day soon
  12. ^^^ I AGREE VERY HARD TO READ.I thought I was bad.
  13. ^^there ya go! Thanks Neal I'm on mobile and didn't have it
  14. Honestly you should be able to reach them perfectly through e-mail contact. Aaron usually answered pretty quick
  15. If you're in a hurry for your build, go get some wire locally. I live in another country, and all I can say is that I love to buy from the ssa store. I trust them 100%. This guy must be a young Canadian boy. First time buying online or what ?!!! I thought Canadians were cool guys !!!
  16. Two different companies however
  17. Welcome to SSA.!!!! The zcon is an amazing sub. I love mine. Let me work some numbers and see what you have allowed for space. Also what kind of power for this sub will you be using?
  18. Just don't try this with a synthetic cork
  19. ^^^This exactly. Give us some history on the setups you've had in the past. For all we know "loud" to you is a pair of 12" Pyle Red Labels in a cheap prefab bandpass enclosure in which case we would know that you have no idea what "loud" is. Or perhaps your last setup consisted of four Sundown SA-15's in a wall with 3500 watts on tap in which case you should definitely have an idea of what "loud" really is. That and everyone has a personal preference as well. While I enjoy listening and playing with big hair moving setups I find the two 12" Q's in my van to be more than adequately loud for me and we rarely have the remote level control above 1/3 of the way up. Your preference may be more like the hair moving, vision skewing, teeth rattling, breath inhibiting type of loud or at least that may be your goal. Clear definitions of what you want and what your trying to do would be most helpful. As was mentioned by stephen if you REALLY want to go as high as 5500 watts $1100 will hardly even cover a new 5500 watt amp let alone all the electrical upgrades that are required to make it operate without shutdown and output issues from voltage drop at best, going up in smoke at worst. Systems this large and powerful take a great deal of planning and support over just buying a bunch of equipment and throwing it in together.
  20. The new leads have studs with a nut instead of a push terminal, so it'd be pretty obvious it was different from the old style. Also I have never had any issues with my sp4s, even running 4k to one for over 6 months. So I still think its user error no matter what people claim.
  21. Yeah the Challenger has Wardens in a wall, with B&C 8''s in the front doors. Guys name is TheJesus on floridaspl.com if you want to check out more of his build.
  22. What a horrible thing to say after Aaron had the best business ethics and correspondence with you. SSA is the BOMB!!! No one can beat em' TRUST THIS! This thread will not affect anyones decision to stay loyal to this Awesome company or change their decision to shop here!
  23. Wow. I apoligized for the stocking mix up, offered a quick soluition, and when rejected we refunded your order instantly. But thank you for the nasty post and changing my email wording to make us look bad. Oh, don't forget you're asking to have SSA reward points given back to you as cash. Again, I am sorry there was a stocking mistake, but we tried to instantly correct it and refunded you right away when asked. BUT I WILL NOT sit here and have someone change what I said to hurt my business. You can run and tell your friends that you got great customer service despite the stocking issue. You were not wronged, it was a simple mistake on communication between us and XS Power. We apologized, tried to correct the issue instantly, sumbitted refund asap, and this is how you act. I will gladly warm other vendors of you if I need to.
  24. I didn't neg you and could care less about that rep system crap, but I clicked positive to even things out so you can feel better and enjoy your day. You got a simple answer to a simple question, so don't go crying about it. And I asked a simple question back, why does it matter where things are made? People all in their feeling these days, sheesh.
  25. Obviously has no idea how a business works. SSA is hands down the best business I have dealt with. They will do everything they can to please you.
  26. 1 point
You kinda sound like the Alpine Type R kinda guy. Just buy the component set for front and coaxials for rear. This will sound like heaven compared to what your looking at. And they are cheap. Lol
  27. I didn't come for good reason. family is more important than anything else. Even we are family but this story pertains to my actual family. I go to Cape coral, fl every year for 2 weeks to spent time with my 2 cousins, aunt and uncle. One of my cousins just got married while I was down there.. my other cousin, she has a boyfriend going 3yrs and a 2 yr son. i typically stay with her while down here because we are close and i care more about her because of her past life experiences. She's had rough life. currently they are stuck.. He can't get a job on the books because of child support, she can't work because nobody to watch their son. They have to live minimally to just get by. so while I'm on vacation, I help them watch their son, clean their house, PAY for their GAS, buy them food, etc... She thanks me much for doing this... Well, the day before SBN, they had a big verbal fight in the car and he jumped out the car.. After argument out of the car, they returned and I was hit with a hurtful image of my cousin in this situation... I couldn't take it.. I left once we got home. I went to her brothers house to cool down and tell him what happened. I can't take to see family hurt. she got upset at me for trying to mediate or over - care the situation. They get in plenty of arguments, I did not know this but they always resolve them.. again.. I didn't know. so I was talking to her all day the next day via text because she was too upset to talk on the phone.. I didn't want to leave here not having the last memory be good or just say bye! So I drove an hour out of my way to go back there and spend the ENTIRE day with them during SBN to ensure we, as family, are just as strong as we should be. We are definitely stronger than ever and for good reason- Anyone here ever do something for someone that was inspirational? You know the feeling you feel when you do? That relief that everything is going to be ok? Take a moment.. The following is a good conclusion to this story... I am also looking at purchasing a house soon in South Florida and moving their eventually. I will buy it in KY and pay on it til I move into it. I offered this proposal to which I received a big smile, , something I haven't seen from my cousin other than me telling jokes. A serious smile... When i purchase a house, I want them to move into my house, rent free, and pay only utilities while I pay the mortgage down 50% They live 1 hr away from family in BFE and no jobs around.. This will not only get me a house, but get them out of this shithole location, closer to family and with less bills. Call it fate for all of us but I forsee moving forward in the right direction for all of us.
  28. Please refrain from post dumping in others for sale thread. If you don't like the price, keep it to yourself. Good luck with sale OP those are some great amplifiers My apologies. Thought I was simply making funnies. Won't happen again.
  29. You're gonna get an "ouch, 1000 bucks for 3000 watts". Just a fair warning lol.
  30. Here is the deal, they weren't using any crazy materials that failed. The lead material has (had) well known and documented properties. Unless something was mechanically assembled wrong, which I doubt with FI, it is known what it takes to ruin them. If the rated current carrying capability wasn't exceeded then the problem was caused by a mechanical failure (over-excursion) which lowered the current carrying capability of the leads. When you get into the realm of drivers with that much stroke and that much force, you can do this. Bottom line, I honestly have not heard of that many subs failing this way. Think of how many they have delivered and have been abused without any issue. I just think it is silly to slap a % or number of failure rate on these when we know that only FI has the data to back anything like this up...
  31. oh you got your self some FI flame logs huh ?
  32. Perhaps we could be 95% sure?
  33. So you know that for fact?
  34. Saying 95% of Fi speakers catching fire is due to user error is a pretty bold statement sir.
  35. found a leak in the tank, along with 2 others but all good now. the door pods look like shit atm. I had to throw them in to get ready for a comp next week and this will give me an idea on how they work out before i get too into it. will be a lot more "prettying" up after the comp in a week. Just trying to get where I can get points and atm I have no garage and the rain is killing me.
  36. starting the battery box.
  37. Glassed the corner in. Mocked in the front baffle. Mocked in the baffle and port. Brackets set in. Layed a few more layers on the door panels. Would have gotten more pics but I was covered in reain all day.
