  1. So I messed around a lot this weekend fine tuning the best I can. I think I'm going to try a slightly smaller box. I don't have the best EQ to level out the freq, so a smaller box it is. This is just to flatten the low end just a tad. Some metal that I listen to, the bass is just a little off. I already know my midbass's could be better, and that would help with the kick drums, but once the freq goes lower it really comes alive. I noticed on White Zombie, there are some electronic drums that come in once in a while and they just play with more authority than the actual kick drum. I will just use up some of the space in the box right now to lower the volume, so in the future when I can beef up my front stage, I can add the volume back. However I can tell, that the sub just inherently has a strong low end, I may find that I will be forced to upgrade the fronts. Overall, I'm pretty excited that I own a XCON.
  2. Sorry I didn't see this until today. We got there around 2 after a nice long traffic delay on I-95. Hate I missed ya man. I'll definitely be going to the next one close by. Aaron, it was nice meeting you. Thanks for taking a few minutes to talk things over with me. My car will finally be paid off this summer and I'll be hitting you up for something a little more powerful. ;-) It was! First one I've had the chance to make. Definitely won't be my last! Met a lot of really cool, down to earth people there. Sounds good and no problem. I didn't demo the SSA SQ car for anyone because I was around chatting most of the time.

  4. Neal does push it for sure. Last time I was up and the Evil was in the 4Runner, I am pretty sure we achieved standing air time in the drive way.
  5. hell yeah they do,you keep the power clean
  6. Little picture show

CT sounds = Coleman Thedinger ... That alone should raise a "red flag", the guy has no idea on how to design or engineer a thing. His past actions on his so called sound dampener venture was enough to know to keep a distance. Shop elsewhere, you'll be glad you did.
  8. A tuning like that would be good for rock and general electronic music. But for anything else would fall pretty short on the low end. Typically I would suggest tuning around 35Hz to get the most out of music.
  9. For Shizzle. I've had TOOL lyrics in my sig for all 10 years of my Internet forum days.
  10. Little vid of the mids and highs playing a little bit of everything. Filmed with iphone 5s, obviously sq is not as good as it is in person. But its pretty damn loud and sounds great IMO. http://youtu.be/V8QIZ4oweCU Song 1: Riff Raff- Dolce & Gabbana Song 2: Dillon Francis- Who the Fuck are You Song 3: Justin Moore- Sunshine Babies Song 4: Rebelution ft. 11. Little bit more... Made a ghetto jig, wish I would have done this when making the rings for my speakers, woulda been way easier. One down... Test fitted... Decided they needed to be thicker, so more cutting... Gluing... Done!
  12. More catch up... Got all my speaker wire ran, and got the IA 6.4 wired up... http://youtu.be/1VoifafdF1I Then re ran my power wire... In the last build it was run under the truck in conduit and up into the cargo area, had to pull it out Decided to run it across the engine bay and into the driver side grommet (much easier to access and my RCAs run down the left side of the vehicle. Then got the carpet back in... Got to work on the A pillars, no glass (yet?) just used a hole saw to punch out holes for the tweets (soldered up the leads and xovers last night) and did the back doors too... Threw the A pillars in the truck... Loaded the doors... Finished running the power wire runs into the cubby where the jack goes (under rear seats, relocated jack to roof box) and got some power to the 6.4 ... Used some double sided tape to secure the tweeter xovers behind the kick panels... Got the rest of the interior put back together. Got the door panels on... Rear w/ tweeter Fronts, hiding the 8s and still fit perfect! Still needs some tuning work, but it is so much louder than with the components!
  13. Obligatory new equipment pics... Psi 8s, beefy little guys... Crescendo s1500 is tiny, pretty crazy looking at the guts of this compared to my old BC5500... Mids and Highs Toolmaker blocks
