Simply speaking I am having an issue with the VCM going way over the supossed 15.2v limit. Sometimes when I start the car the VCM is so high that every aftermarket electronic device installed turns on and off over and over including the VCM. While doing this pulls my idle up and down also. Very bad for the electronics in my car, and being that its a 2013 300, I don't want to fry all the computers and such. The dip switches are set how the instructions say, and everything is installed very cleanly. Everything is soldered and shrink wrapped. It also sends everything into protect when im on the highway and there is a break in the bass, voltage spikes up like crazy. The other thing is it doesn't stay to what I set it to, it will often either drift down from what I set it to or up over time while driving. This thing seems extremely unstable, and the fact that I have to constantly babysit it just adds stress to my day. Hopefully you guys have a fix, although Ive heard lots of people have issues with XS and the mechman units. Thanks

Singer said it sounds like a bad VCM. I'm going to use the regulator in the alternator for now, and buy one of the big blue external regulators that you sometimes see.

No just no, I'm not sure if you even read the post. Your post wasn't helpful at all because I already knew all this, and normally you'd be right but it's definitely not me turning up the alternator past 15.4 when I've been driving for 30+mins. Sometimes when I start the car the voltage is 12.8, sometimes it's over 16.

That's a waste of forum space, that's my opinion. You asked for an 2krm subwoofer. Take a look at an SSA Zcon, the terminals are to fit 8awg wiring. So are you saying they made an wasteful decision? What about Obisidian, their OA line allows 4awg, same can be said for B2 with their XC line. It is an safety hazard to have too small of wire. As questin said, use an calculater. You have been on this forum for too many years to be spoon feed for ANY questions you have, especially when there is calculators readily available.

My hds210 sq subs can take 10 gauge. does that mean I need to use 10 awg. lol. Ok, we can play that game. Crescendo Audio BC5500. Dual 1/0 inputs. So tell me what happens when you only use half the inputs, or attempt to use 4awg vs 1/0.

Final thoughts, 6 awg pure copper OFC is like 47 cents a foot. Just call it a day and buy that. No need to do any extra math at that price point.

Of course it makes sense. SSA Zcon, comes with 8 awg inputs. If you buy Welding Cable, 6 awg = Car Audio 8 awg. And point B, You're only spending litterally ONE dollar per foot for the pair of cables. In a daily system, that means it'll cost less than 5$ per subwoofer. So at what point does it NOT make sense?

Sound deadening is very important but why does it affect the amp recommendation? The sound deadening should be done when the speakers are installed if your budget allows for it.

Haha. I wasn't going to sound deaden my amp. It was just a quick question instead of making a whole new post. I was just making a point that the amp shouldn't depend on sound deadening.
