  1. breaking in the table saw and getting back into the swing of things with the sub I am using and the design this build is like putting a front end loader into a mail box......... LOL
  2. All of the answers you get will be subjective unless A/B tests were done under controlled conditions... Model your driver choices in the enlosure you already have and compare the response curves...
  3. I'm not going to waste any time to paint or carpet this one it's only temporary until I get my hands on a 2nd W10gti
  4. got the fiberglass done , drop on the top with a bit of sanding and I will no longer have to listen to that Rockford Punch HX2 anymore ( thank gawwd ....LOL ) listening to that thing bang for a year was almost painfull

  6. Fuck yeah! Pop some Molly and wait for teh drops. Untz untz untz.
  7. Uh yes I am very aware of that..lol
  8. The speed of air does effect unwanted noise....More port volume slower the speed so that does not mean less port noise? think of it like using a larger gauge wire (more current), larger port area results in lower air velocity. That results in less unwanted noise.correct? larger area -> lower port air velocity -> less air turbulence/chuffing Ok.. so are you agreeing with me or not..Lol

  11. "For example" Moving air from "point a" 100ft to achieve the same CFM at "point b" at the end, You have to reduce the volume/area to keep your desired speed. larger volumes for longer distances loses speed And IMO would create less unwanted noise..
  12. Air velocity was more the factor than "cosmetics" and less port noise VIA "more port area" with the octagon ports.. Port area is what you said. Air velocity was more the factor than "cosmetics" and less port noise VIA "more port area" with the octagon ports.. Port area is what you said. Well maybe I should have said volume You know what I was getting at Smaller the volume faster air travels..Larger volume slower the velocity is what I was getting at. air speed is related to the cross sectional area not volume. No No read up... the distance has to be calculated as well "for example" for you total..If you would like I could snap you a pic of my degrees in this field. http://www.dwyer-inst.com/Products/AirVelocityIntroduction.cfm

  14. No disrespect brother...But I studied this field for years.. Then give arguments that are based on facts and can be checked. (maybe even provide a source while you're at it.) How are Octogonal ports ever going to give more port area that the same size circle, not to mention a square port. EDIT: yes, I actually made this in paint. That is a pic of surface comparison .. Volume I guess that would depend on the desired frequency as you have to figure in the Length of the port walls as well.Correct?
  15. No disrespect brother...But I studied this field for years.. ummm shit posting is meant for the hop. Ummm I am out of hear I am tired of getting disrespected by a few of ya'll and criticized on every post I make..Way to run people off..congrads

  18. The op asked for advise for the ports....stay on topic if you can't help somebody can...
  19. Maybe you would like to post this on your site so they could be more than 2 sections to search...Never buy a used sub!
  20. I would not never recommend buying a used sub..As you never know what abuse it has seen for $275.00 you could get a brand spanking new woofer at the SSA store..

  23. x2 More less I was showing how he could do a L port design..This was by no means finished but I thought it might help..
  24. lol...I fell ya..maybe i can help let me look more a your post..
  25. Yes you usually change the thickness of the loading wall, height of the port or width of port just like any other enclosure to adjust the tuning.Yes this is correct genius...And quit neggin all my post your just making yourself look like a little bitch!!Mike, please stop accusing people of "negging" your posts. Do you specifically know JayCee is doing it? Nobody pays attention to reputation points and even spam accounts can click the negative buttons.
