  1. Communist or anarchist. I like extremes.
  2. About all I do is work Sean. I work 40 hrs a week tattoo'ing and could work ALL the hours my body can stand beyond that. I also work 20-40 hours a week gardening. Yes I make more money gardening then tattoo'ing. I hit the ground with my feet running most days and do not stop until 9-10 at night. So to answer your question, I honestly would be putting in about half the days (not hours) as the painter to reach the dollar sum. Not to mention I don't have alot of freetime. As far as being a perfectionist, it would not stop me from using the car. Yes it will hurt alittle more that first few scratches, but thats about it. As far as supports, I already welded in the subframe connectors and added all other possible bracing. Time vs money is a great topic in and of its self. I am getting to an age I realize the less shit I need, the less I have to work. Now just to minimize all the bullshit. Of course that requires reevaluating my needs and eliminating anything wasteful. (harder said than done with a family) Guess you could say I got wrapped up in lifes BS, woke up and realized I was just another sheep in the crowd, going through the motions. What a dis-attached, vague meaningless life 95% of the ppl around us are living. I am to the point i really just want to button up all the things I am committed and not take on anymore pointless projects. Get on to enjoying my time, and get out of the hamster wheel. LIFE is a limited time engagement. I try pack it with as many meaningful experiences as possible.
  3. J-Road, I'm finally on a computer and remember your music question at the same time. After seeing others responses and what you are looking for; I don't think I have much to add. Spotify is awesome, but it costs. I did get a 3 month premium membership for $0.99 and I enjoyed it, but I wasn't going to pay $8-$10 a month for it. One of my co-workers uses it and he absolutely loves it. But he's single so hes got the money I usually casually listen or listen for a specific mood (work out, rap before I play basketball, calming music at work etc.) Most of the time the Radio feature on Spotify or just normal Pandora is good enough for me, though getting rid of commercials would be awesome when listening to calming music. I also think that Spotify streaming is higher quality.
  4. I would do it right the first time. If you regret not doing it full tilt, what happens? You either live with regret, or spend the money to re-do it. If you do it to the full amount, and look at it and say you could have skated by with just the paint, your out less than re-doing it.Plus if you decide to sell it later it increases the resale amount, and it would show great at the car show. J Just got off the phone with them. The total is 14,065 for show quality. I honestly have put so much work into this car, I know I would regret it. So ya, pretty much just pulled the trigger. Will have it media blasted by next Thursday. The dude don't mess around, and is on my level. What about doing some of the labor yourself? To me that would be tripping over a dollar to pick up a dime. I am not trying to reengineer the process or the guys job. The headaches involved could easily be avoided for a few dollars more. I picked a very competent painter for that very reason. I do not want to have to micromanage the job, just keep a hand in there enough to know the pulse. You have to remember I'm in the service field, and understand the creative process. Me trying to micromanage it is only going to fuck shit up.
  5. A vehicle he said he would never own again after his Silverado.
  6. Something similar to this, only lower and with an LS motor!
  7. Be sure to get the newest version of WinISD (version 0.7.0.900) its much better. You can get it here: http://www.linearteam.org/download/winisd-07x.exe When you try to enter in the T/S parameters of your sub, you will have a lot better results if you do it this way: 1. Enter Mms and Cms This gives fs. If either is not available, then enter fs and other parameter. 2. Enter Sd, Bl and Re Now, you should get all but Qms (and Qts), Vas. Please note that Vas may not match exactly what is specified by manufacturer, because exact value of Vas depends on environmental parameters. See FAQ. 3. Enter Rms or Qms. Either one will do, although I tend to prefer Qms over Rms, because it can usually be measured in driver measurement procedures. 4. Enter Hc, Hg and Pe. If Hc or Hg or either is available, then enter Xmax and optionally either Hc or Hg if available. 5. Enter number of voicecoils. This procedure is most accurate. Also note that it also calculates true SPL (1W/1m) value. So it might not match the marketing SPL value, which is generally somewhat vague. Not in all cases, though. 6. Correct Znom, if necessary. If there are several voicecoils, then you must be careful when entering parameters in that case, because many manufacturers give Bl in voice coils in series, because it yields double value for Bl against parallel connection. If driver manufacturer gives Qes, Bl and Cms or Mms, then you can check how Bl is specified. For that, you can enter following parameters to calculate Re: Qes, Fs, Mms or Cms and Bl. Connection mode can be changed by changing the combobox selection. The driver editor then converts Bl and Re values accordingly. Equivalently, you can check for Bl by entering: Qes, Fs, Mms or Cms and Re (for desired connection mode). If you enter resistance for parallel connection and get about half of advertised Bl, then you know, that Bl was specified that way. Like in Driver-tab in project window, you'll probably noticed the driver icon in bottom of the driver editor window. you can drag the driver object into some project by just dragging the icon.
  8. didn't do much today....but reinstalled the fuse block and hooked up the + wires from the Singer. Hope to spend a few hrs at the body shop tomorrow with their lift to run the grounds, and the 2 runs from fuse block to fuse block. Question: I have 3 runs to the frame off the battery bank for ground. And I plan to run 3 runs to the frame off the Singer in the front. Do I need to ground the body? Amp is grounded to battery bank as well. Pics- Looking good!
  9. I am not arguing. I am simply asking a question. Telling me to sell/return most of the equipment i purchased isn't teaching me anything. Or telling me that what I have is overkill/no good is not helping either. I am not saying he is incorrect, i am simply asking for explanations.
  10. Ok fellas well I stopped being a lil hoe and just finished the rest of the install best i knew how lol. Here is how it turned out. I have to say I'm very impressed with this driver. For a ten, this thing sounds fucking great!!
  11. After chilling out yesterday- I got some work done on it today. Dual alts are installed! Took the Cande Shoppes 280A out and reintalled my stocker. then installed the Singer 350Amp. Didn't wire the 350 up yet, but being used- I was glad to hear zero bearing noise with the truck running. a few crappy cell pics. Can you spot the Singer??lol Bracket installed, mocking up the alts... belted up! Hoping to get the wiring done tomorrow...
  12. You're arguing with one of the most knowledgeable people on the board. I'd give what he says a try before trying to dispute it. The board is here to learn from, remember
