The part that is sad is that most noobs that come on here and ask questions would be much better served by a B&M store....but the stores forgot what their job was. Probably because the average consumer is so confused and stupid they had to switch, but either way it is sad. In the early 90's there were tons of great stores everywhere.

Thanks. Im a maintenance tech at a medical plant. I work on big injection molding presses. This is my old wired clamp set up, the one i have on site is really nice...... I just like knowing what my shiz id doing. Its probably my favorite part of all of this. Ya, we dont have a noise ordnance so the arseho gave me a disturbing the peace. I had to go to court, in front of a judge and everything. I got some council, and all charges/fine were brought way down, but, i am still on probabtion. I even had to get a mug shot..... was a pucking joke......The thing was? was i was not even close to any residential. Oh well. Isnt going to stop me, ill drive to the next state if i have to. We are just saying over the years they have packaged there recones alot better than they just did. Wondering why its different now. . I think ssa has the best subs out there

Small update- Went back thru my emails with Singer and realized I wired the damn thing up wrong. DOH! So I repinned the connector right, and viola! charging. Started the truck up and had 13.6 on the meter. Alot better than the 12.5 I been looking at for 2 days. So I headed out to bring my boys home., and during the 40 minute drive, it slowly made it's way back up to 14.0 by the time we got there. Figuring it had been charging its ass off for 40 mins, I hung out for a while to let it cool. Then when I left for home- I saw that glorious 14.4 on start up, and 14.1-2 when cruising. at idle is sits on 14.0 hot. I can deal with that for sure. Nice thing is- Even when I pound on it, the voltage doesn't go below 13.0. Also bought a cheaper Volt and ohm meter this morning to make sure it wasn't a bad reading. Checked the ohms on my amp...I am seeing .8 at the outputs. the are dual 2 subs. I was expecting .5. Does it affect the reading when they are hooked up to the amp? Also how do you figure out the impedance curve? These Tantrics pound pretty good though. I am still running the factory Bose highs, Can't turn the H/U over about 20. so the amp gain is turned up a bit, and just playing it by ear. They have a slight electrical smell, but I've read that Tantrics are known for that. after beating on them a bit, the amp and subs get luke warm, but no where near hot. Going to try to start on the front stage this week.

If i were you i would just look and ask questions and if you see something you like go home and order it online. You will save a ton of money and have some sort of idea what your actually getting.

I would say their prices may be a bit higher due to the number of employee's they have on their payroll..If they are not making a bigger profit margin then their payroll deductions how could they have stayed a float for 40+ years... Great company though and sometimes the customer support is worth the few extra bucks

I seen that.. I thought that someone on here may have a trick or something i haven't heard or thought of.. I was thinking maybe instead of useing the the parking brake maybe they used the transmission or a speed sensor? I would try the ground wire but it only plays while the truck is in park with the break on or off..

Do you guys know how i can simply bypass the safety feature for the dvd so it will play while driving ? On most units you just geound the parking brake wire but from what I've read online this wont work? Its the factory dvd nav system. Any help would be great. Thanks

that is for an aftermarket radio, the stock unit does not have a "park brake wire". The info is fed to the radio via data Yeah i went ahead and decided to try a lockpick.

Well I guess the real question is how far are you willing to travel, just saying the Dallas area can be kinda vague. Im in Arlington, less than 20-25 minutes from downtown Dallas.

No wonder the good shops are closing down/closed down.They pay for the rent, and having things in stock, you ask for their advice and then order it off the internet... You go spend $1500 on some fosgate p1s and a 500 watt amp.

90% of shops are out to screw you over. A guy i know went to a local shop to have a box built for 2 12s. $700. Had a guy at work go to the same shop and came back woth 2 10 fusion subs and a fusuion amp. Prefab box and 8 guage wiring. $900. The only way i would feel bad about doing what i said is if there were a decent shop reasonably priced. And like /m5 said I've yet to see a educated employee.

I personally wouldn't mind paying a little extra just for the have it right now factor. I've bought a ton of smalls from audio shops. Distribution blocks, fuse blocks, wire and stuff like that. I can't be paying double for a subwoofer or an enclosure. It seems to me that most audio shops make their money from remote start installation and window tinting.
