  1. Even if it was old, he was trying to help and save you some money.
  2. looking good. congrats on the new build.
  3. One more pic during the amp install. I have some alternator whine with the phone un-powered and the mini-dsp powered from the rear 12v wire I found and stupid loud alternator whine when I charge the phone. Powering both the phone and the mini-dsp from a 5v phone charger cures all the noise, today I will run a USB cord all the way to where the amps are and install the 5v charger there. Also need to build a turn-off delay circuit for the mini-dsp, long enough to turn on the engine.
  4. for $500 USD I would have built you a massive Kerf flared port that looked like MickJaggers Lipps tuned bang on 30hz
  5. No. #1, there is no rule for port area vs. enclosure displacement. #2 Even if it were a 40in2 vent it would still behave 100% as a Hemholtz Resonator (a port). You may get compression at full output, all dependent on drive power. Just verify tuning with a source that plays test tones. Tuning is where the cone moves the least. The only way to to know if that vent is too small is to model and look at vent velocity.
  6. If things on here didnt work out between him and SSA thats one thing but from what I saw he did nothing on here but try his best to explain every detail of his subs, kippel results, graphs, etc and was extremely helpful to anyone. More so than anyone else I have seen, he even would help design enclosures for his customers. So this statement in my opinion is very false! You are misrepresenting my commments. He was/is very eager to edit comments, hide information and proved over and over again that making a sale was more important to him than providing the right information. It is really too bad since he had a lot more on topic intelligence than most suppliers. Sucks when someone hope can be an asset turns into another Ant or Ben Milne.
