    I think you need to just take it to a professional mechanic to get an accurate diagnosis. If you are in need of a trustworthy mechanic I can give you the contact info for my dad's shop. I think you'll end up chasing your tail trying to figure this one out on your own.

    I would have the transmission fully serviced before making any drastic changes. At least then you will know what you are dealing with.

    A water pump at 100 to 150k was the norm I thought. Water pump, alternator, plugs, wires, suspension, brakes all in the same range.
