  1. And after a few hours of work, door seals, a-pillar trim, some interior trim, door handles taillights, finish panel and rear bumper are on. Still lots more to do.
  2. Pioneer DEH-80PRS Helix DEP PRO
  3. Seriously not true you mean. That would be a big step down in many ways.

I am SSA, well at least part of it that can help. I have replied both on here and on CA.com. Next time contact us first so we can address it right away and not have to deal with all the incorrect information by others and I would have answered your questions and concerns right away, as in faster than having to find it on the forums later. Anyway, that crack that appears on the back of the surround is odd. Your subwoofer is out of warranty, but it can surely be reconed. Once it is, I think we need to address the enclosure it is in if you feel it is missing certain music. The voice coil is perfectly fine. If you have any other questions, please email me directly and I can help out much faster than on the forums.
  5. There are tickets currently in the loop at Invision (the forum host) for the aforementioned issues, I'll forward this to Aaron for more exposure.

Somone over on caraudio.com said it looks as if its been hot and cold a lot. North Carolina has hot summers and reasonably cold winters but your should be able to leave your system in your car year round without issues I feel like. You might have a good point about beating her up some more before doing a recone, glad you mentioned that.
  7. Thought I would update this for those that commented or were maybe following. My singer alternator was in need of a rebuild. Mike fixed it up and got it back to me in a timely manner. Its been sitting in my closet for a while now, haven't got around to putting it back in. Hopefully I don't have to do this every two years, it will get old swapping alternators.

12 days ago i pulled my 2, 15in zcons out after running them 11 months. Each one was on its own Crescendo 3500. The only reason I pulled them out was to install my too, 18 inch evil. Granted it's not perfect but first time running this kind of power. I learned about the first two weeks that I had the amp turn too high so I adjusted and been running ever since. I also bought these used and I'm selling them to a friend of mine who's going to use them right away you're right you get what you pay for and I'm not going to pay for an overpriced name I'd Rather Have My Money go to a quality product which is why I'm on my third different SSA subwoofer
  9. That was all installation, would have been real close with a BTL in similar optimal conditions. That install obviously also sounded like crap... Power is not the way to output, nor is some driver. It is all install. No matter what Speakerboy does replacing a driver with one that is close to 1/3 the Sd is not going to end up in comparable output across the frequency range. If he wants a fart cannon, er one note wonder, to replace it then we could discuss but something musical no way.
  10. Compared to an 18" BTL those are baby woofers. Will be a HUGE step down. It is really hard to replace all that cone area, nearly 3x in fact. That and the BTL in general is a better choice for his application than the DD anyways.
  11. I'm sure he was ssuggesting possible causes. As with any business he's trying verify if he's product is at fault.I've been running Singer for a few years and couldn't be happier with the product/customer service.A week to reply back, probably got busy, wether a day or a week he always had responded to my questions.

You get what you pay for, that's why I almost always run JL. All these discount dealers just use mostly the same parts for 90% of this stuff. Like the amps, they are the same amp with a different name etched on them. I was looking at 3 amps the other day, and they where identical, it was the audio legion 3500, and I can't remember what the other two where but they are here on ssa to. When your sub was ordered they probably just grabbed some parts out of a giant bin. and slapped it together half ass. I myself made the mistake of buying a crescendo BC3500, now it's been months and I can't find or buy another to match it, so I will either have to eat a big loss, or run different amps. I will say one thing for my W7's, there all designed and built different for there size, and not just a frankenwoofer built out of cheap spare parts for 3-4 sizes. Did you not notice most of these subs have the same motors from the 10 to the 15 inch? But even still some of them can do big numbers, but usually don't last, or sound like shit doing it. My last set of spl type subs lasted 6 months, and I have had my JL's for a few years now. They have already destroyed one car, and now working on the second. Yea I need dynomat I know, I'm working on it. But atleast these subs have reconesvso they can just super glue you another One together. Then six months or so down the road it will probably need another. Good thing there cheap it cost like $350 to have my dub 7 rebuilt.
