  1. Just because you read it somewhere on the internet doesn't make it true. Amplifying power consist of basic electrical engineering. Just because boards are similar only conclude that they may have the customers wallet in mind. To have a board manufactured isn't just pennies on a dollar. Many internal parts may look identical through pics on the internet, with that in mind they may very well not be identical. I found this out a while back during my first attempts of fixing an amp. Some parts are actually special order & design. While the actual "technology" might not vary, the real world quality of every tiny resistor, diode, mosfet, tranformer, chip, ect.... makes each brand/ product unique. Electrical engineering and the actual physics behind amplifying a signal are pre-determined laws. In order to become more efficient or even have a major break through in the science would be worth billions to the patent holder. Not an easy feet. In order to gain a large jump in any aspect either power output or efficiency, something has to be sacrificed. Most often it's the cost of materials or the size. I'm not choosing sides, just trying to help anyone understand what I have learned about very little to do with building an amplifier.
  2. He doesn't know his head from his ass. My 7 year old is more capable of a logical discussion.
  3. Haha WOW I just remembered that I posted this years ago and had to update! Well the bad news is that I ended up getting all of the way up to 535 pounds a few years ago...the good news is that I am currently 315 pounds and steadily losing! I hope that everyone is doing well! I truly miss my SSA family!
  4. Perhaps you need exact Dick & Jane sentences to get it. Nathaniel J. Victor owns Sonic Electronix. Nathaniel J. Victor owns NVX. Nathaniel J. Victor IS Nathaniel J. Victor. Sonic Electronix and NVX are owned by the same person. ...you should really stop posting it just continues to make you look like a moron.
  5. Hey dickhead, once again: NVX is Sonic Electronix house brand. The same guy that owns Sonic owns NVX. It is not sold exclusively at Sonic's website obviously, even SSA sells it in its store.
  6. Have you tried nvx yourself? Brands being more budget friendly doesnt necessarily mean they're total turds. If your looking for the cheapest copy of a bunch then go for it man. Like we all know internals/build quality could change. It's a gamble out here lol I would say just choose a vendor wisely.
  7. BJ, the door for you is on the left
  8. Lol, like who owns NVX. You mix up facts and opinions, not I.
  9. I went from 382 to 260 in a little over a year. The catalyst was when my wife of 20 years walked out on me and I just stopped eating, so not the best start... I began walking, 2 miles everyday and my diet was spot on. Lots of veggies, whole grain cereal, and no junk food. I've had a steady girlfriend for the last 9 months so I'm up to 285 because we dine out once or twice a week and I drink beer those nights. The big challenge will be to find a good balance of happiness, exercise, and diet. Best of luck to you! http://imgur.com/L9DTQJQ
  10. Great job Brotha! I will be in the 2 hundreds by February, and am planning a few marathons this year! It's funny to me that my original goal was 275 and now that is laughable. I will get down to 215 this year! I think that the last time I was this weight was around 2002 and I was 5 inches shorter haha. Can't wait to see how I feel at nearly 6 feet and 215 pounds!
  11. Holy smokes. I got exceptionally sick and hit about 530 myself. In the last 2 years I got down to just under 300. First time in a long long long time.
  12. This is the only store I will order from. They move so much product there supplements are the freshest possible from the manufactures. They ship Fedex Express and only charge regular ground. I got a $300+ order from Wisconsin to Houston to my door in less than 24 hours and only paid $9 bucks. Now that says something right there.
  13. Excellent progress man! With the dedication you have given, and you have a good structure to build, I'd highly suggest bodybuilding. You don't have to turn into Jay Cutler, but when I body build its the best I've ever felt or looked in my life. Its awesome the more muscle you have the more fat you will burn even at rest, which means cheating on the diet here and there isn't really a problem. Build for strength not just size, strength can equal size if you want it to.
  14. What happen man? You started with a question over who makes what and now you have all these fun facts lol i have a synergy amp WFO 35.1 to be exact. I have nothing to complain about, it does a well job for daily listening and it's been reliable since spring 16'. Its worth the money > In my opinion <.. In comparison to the 2.5k shok industries ii amp I had before, shok did sound bit cleaner. Probably due to the fact that it needed less juice??.. anyway I noticed some of those amps price is higher due to it being able to handle more volts. Then again I'm no expert lol...
  15. Nice thank you. May need some of that for something non-automotive deadening related
  16. Again you type a meaningless uniformed book. Perhaps some amplifier 101 would be beneficial so you could actually state something educated about engineering or design.
  17. Just wanted to update for anyone that looks in the future, I ended up going with a Denon AVR-S510BT 5.2 amp and love it so far, 2 sub outputs, 5 or more HDMI inputs, Bluetooth audio and a really cool app that you can download and control through Bluetooth, you can turn on the amp, switch inputs and change volume through your phone. Also picked up a JBL 12" sub with 250rms amp and some Mission 782 towers used for $300. have a cheap center and rears but sounds good for music and Home theatre, I may build a new sub tuned lower in future for HT lows but its plenty good for me for now. Id definitely recommend going this route and slowly building up the system vs home theatre in a box as Im into it for $600 CAD and kills any systems ive heard in that price range.
  18. Well ///M5 I have been doing a lot of reading and a lot of thinking over the past multiple days, and as you have already said my car truly isn't very friendly for audio. The Scan-Speak D2904 Revelator you recommended is one hell of a tweeter just out of my budget at $277 a pop. I would love to run them, you clearly get what you pay for with those but finding a mounting location for them without glassing something up is not possible with the crammed cave interior environment I'm working with. I have officially ruled the kick panels out after sitting in the car with a panel put back in. I have to work the clutch pedal and the whole area down there is very crammed, my foot would either be hitting the tweeter(regardless of size) or covering the face of the tweeter up 95-100% of the time, honestly theres not even room for one there for my car. I believe this is where they need to go http://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-electronics/1173140-i-have-huge-tweeters-suggestions.html Post #8 shows the pictures. I would more than likely go with the Scan-Speak D3004/6020-00 for this location due to space requirements, and straight from Scan-Speak "The compact size is one of the key elements of these Illuminator tweeters, which provides a high degree of flexibility within design options. The small size is employed without compromising sound quality where these compact tweeters are fully comparable to the renowned full size Illuminator and Revelator tweeters, no matter if the music is played at high or low listening levels." I compared the two, clearly the D2904 Revelator you get what you pay for especially with the low mounting depth for such a quality tweeter. The D3004/6020 T/S parameters look promising for fitting what they did in such a small package. I have appreciated your help and feedback ///M5, looking forward to your thoughts on this mounting spot and the D3004/6020.
  19. Check out www.marksdailyapple.com . It pretty much goes completely against conventional wisdom in the areas of diet and cardio, but check out some of the success stories. I've been doing a lot of research on the subject of Primal and Paleo lifestyles recently and they both actually make a lot of sense. Making the transition is damn hard, though.
  20. Check out Bodybuilding.com That site is an excellent source of information. Also their forum is great and the store is excellent. It all comes down to: determination, diet, excercise
