Modeling Midbass Drivers 6.5"-7"
3 pointsModel at 10x vas and just compare midbass roll off. Sonic signature isn't something you are going to get insight on. For that reviewing the measured curves will give you hints however3 points

Mini/small/micro amps
2 pointsZed Audio Mikro IV, it fits perfectly under the seat of my Jeep. It runs cool, has had no noise issue, and worked flawlessly for 2 years now. The only complain is the set screw for the remote is difficult to tighten, I've had a passenger in the back seat knock it loose twice. I need to get off my lazy butt and re-position the amp so it doesn't happen a third time...or stop having passengers in the back seat.2 points

2 pointsDisclaimer on the Audio Parts: NOTHING is a finished product. I'm just getting started. With my Job and the Wife's "honey do list", my time is VERY limited. LOL Stock Radio sounded OK. I was surprised to be honest with the stock speakers. But the truck was missing the one thing I simply can not do without. The Kenwood DNX9980HD !!! Some cutting was needed in the dash unfortunately, but was able to squeeze it in there and be able to breathe nicely. I know, the bezel needs A LOT of fab work done to it. I'm hoping to take it to my guys over at Precision Audio to take care of this for me. But for now, I can watch my music videos and movies !!! Now as far as sound with the stock speakers (6x9 in each door) go, MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE !!! I LOVE TIME ALIGNMENT !!!2 points

2 pointsShe's all stock (for now) with the 4.6 V8. Hopefully I can find some time and get the Audio cables ran under the hood soon. Nothing spectacular, just adequate for power and stealthy looking. This tool box was on White Lightning before I bought the bed cover. Stuck it on for now so I can have some tools when needed. Like I said, this is my daily driver. I will take this back off at a later date to sand and paint it. but for now, it works for what i need at this time.2 points

No add to cart
2 pointsI think I'm gonna just order my subs or sub now, and while I'm waiting for it to be built save a little more money and just get the ampere 3800, or 5k and a high output alt from gp audio, as they are the only place that list one for the 2012 Cruze turbo. 2 12" inch evils on a ampere 5k sounds like a good idea. I plugged the numbers on 12volt's box calculator, and I have just over 5 cubic foot net, after port and .18 displacement, so they should fit, may be a tad small but I can always invert them I guess. Ok thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. And if Aaron reads this, I will place my order in a day or two when I have a free moment. #CruzeEvil2 points

2 pointsSoundQubed 7k is on sale now as well, if you're looking for inexpensive power. Maybe wire to 2 or 4 ohm depending on coil configuration. As for strapping, I had never done it until a couple of months ago, and the only hassle I had was the extra power/ground and fuseage. Simpler than gain matching two amps, at least. Other than that, +1 to what Julian said.2 points

SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)
1 pointA few years late, but we are finally getting a very nice tweeter going that is worthy of being a part of the SSA line. The pictures below show the prototypes, they are really attractive in person and will, in production form, bare the SSA logo. See the attached files for the 4 and 8 ohm versions. They are quite smooth to my ear (aka not super bright like some metal dome tweets can be) and blend well with the Evil6.5's (vital to the design). These are not a PA style, 'screamy' tweet, these are meant for sound quality first and foremost. Possible future home audio plans. Pricing is not set just yet. These will be sold as a pair. Some quick points of info: 28mm Silk Dome, Large Roll Surround Aluminum Faceplace and Housing Sound Transparent Grill Low Fs. for flexibility in both Home & Car Neo Motor with Shallow non-Resonant Chamber 61.9mm (2.44") dia. flange, 21.5mm (.85") depth 65 watts rms1 point

1 pointI used a lot of fords just like yours when I was Rodbusting. Bullet proof engines, but expect to replace, or rebuild the tranny at 100-150k miles, if your lucky. But to be fair we did haul a lot of men and wire which adds up when you got 800lbs of steal wire and another 1500lbs of rednecks and Mexicans in them all the time. We drove non stop and always used these trucks and it happened to them all. When we finally got the lariat's with the 5.4 we never had a problem, they all lasted to 200k then we traded them in for new trucks.1 point

1 pointPersonally I would prefer one amp over two, strapping amps in my experience has always been a bit of a hassle. The Ampere 3500 would be an excellent match for an Evil, I can personally guarantee you that the Evil can take MUCH more than rated as long as you're smart ;). As long as your electrical is solid there will be no issues there!1 point

Modeling Midbass Drivers 6.5"-7"
1 pointIm guessing much wont be interpreted from their published graphs either. If thats the case then this thread is a wash but I wouldnt mind modeling to see the results. I want to try all three drivers just dont want to buy them all when im still planning on grabbing some new 12" subwoofers as well. Considering I've had the SB Acoustics, Im willing to go on a limb and flip a coin between the SSA's or the Fi's. Any particular t/s parameters I should look for? Thanks guys1 point

1 point- Mini/small/micro amps
1 pointNope, Sencheezy and Shizzzon are two different guys. Sencheezy is Senchez Richardson, Shizzzon is Sean Madison. Both were very active members on the forum here at one time before their endeavors grew well beyond having time for the forum. Both are good guys though, really good guys.1 point- Mini/small/micro amps
1 pointVE Audio is the brand name and they're not widely known or used yet. Honestly I'm not sure they ever will be simply because they're an SQ focused company and products and the prices they are sold at don't lend themselves well to people taking a leap of faith trying something new with almost no reviews or background. I got my VE Audio equipment from the distributor for that very purpose though and like I said I couldn't be happier with the amplifiers. I have a few issues with the components but they're very small issues with the response that are easily cleaned up with a little bit of simple EQ adjustments. The only place I know of to find them for sale is on the SPL-LABS store on WebStore.com or directly from Shizzzon (Sean Madison) who used to be a very active member on the forum here.1 point- Mini/small/micro amps
1 pointI've used the micro NVX amplifiers and have no issues with them. I've also used the focal fd series with good results. Here's the focal compared to the US Acoustics Barbara Ann1 point- Mini/small/micro amps
1 pointI was recently introduced to VE Audio, having installed their little AB 150.2 two channel and D600.1 mono block. The AB150.2 is a Class AB and is a very solid little thing at that. Very clean and strong output that easily drives the matching components very well with no perceivable noise floor. It's rated at 150wrms x 2 @ 4 ohms and I don't think it has any issues providing it. The D600.1 is my favorite between them though. It's about half the size of the AB150 but seems like it just doesn't run out of steam. The D600 is rated 300wrms @ 4 ohms and 600wrms @ 2 ohms. It's powering a single CDT Audio HD12SQ in a simple prefabricated sealed truck style enclosure with enough gusto to surprise everyone who's listened to it. These are the smallest amps I've ever used and I really can't find anything negative about them. Perhaps my only possible complaint would be that the cooling fans in the AB150 are just a little noisier than I would like but I believe that's getting a little nit picky.1 point- Introduction
1 pointSpend A LOT of timing aiming before even starting the fiberglass. That little bit of the install makes or breaks it!1 point- Introduction
1 pointPicked up a pair of spare A-pillars, going to try my hand at fiberglass(after spending a couple hours watching youtube videos). Ordered a SQ-7k(headroom!) and another XS d3400. Almost ordered 2 more XCons, but I don't have the room for them, especially wanting to keep the style of enclosure I'm using.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

1 point- SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)
1 pointAaron has been working very hard on the development of these new EVIL1's, and one made it's way up to me in NY for photos. We are still undecided on the logo color, hence the two different renderings. What do you guys think?1 point- Introduction
1 pointI mocked them up and listened to a few songs when I got them(about 6+ months ago?!)... Was not disappointed. Definitely looking forward to hearing them again soon. I just couldn't figure out how much damage I wanted to do to the vehicle... I may look into PVC end caps for the time being, which should let me try out different positions and angles.. Are you on or off axis with yours?1 point- SSA Evil 1 (first SSA tweeter)
1 pointGorgeous. If they perform like they look they should take the active audience by storm. With no a priori measurement details and only seeing the plot, I think Aaron's response is conservative. The response curve looks easily adaptable to both almost on and off axis response in car. Obviously nothing will beat a really small diaphragm for off axis response, but the flexibility of such a low Fs will more than counteract that in more than 90% of installs. The last thing I need is another set of tweeters...but pretty sure my curiosity won't be squelched until I own a pair.1 point - Introduction
