  1. I have same issue with my cousins tahoe. I have been through new rca wires and isolators and ground locations. Next step is to remove the alt from the mix and see if it needs new bushings or bearing. The noise he is getting seems like alt whine over ground loop anyway but he was hoping to be a cheap fix. If you need any help we will be glad to help since you are at least taking the time to read the research on here.
  2. Wheels polished and tires are prepped for coating. Matte finish tire coating is cured and completely dry to the touch. This coating is a polymer-based semi-permanent dressing that will last 3-6 months under normal driving conditions!! It forms a flexible dry film that will not smudge, sling, or attract dirt/dust like traditional tire dressings do. Once treated this coating is NOT damaged by detergents, pressure washers, car washes, acids, alkalis, or road salt. First layer of 22PLE VM1 Extreme applied to wheel lips, faces, and barrels. The second coat will be applied after they have fully cured. The semi-pernament protective coating will protect the wheels from harmful road grime and brake dust build up. The high silica-content glass barrier provides an amazing level of gloss and will provide up to 2-3 years of protection! Also makes cleaning the wheels easier and helps keep them clean longer as well!
  3. Nvr mind . I just found the trouble shooting guide posted here on the site .
  4. In the next couple of days I will have a good grasp on the timeline as to when we will have them ready.
  5. The barrel of the wheels, before and after polishing, ready for coating. Polishing Before and after pics of before polishing the wheels and after.
  6. Aside from what he is sending me, I don't know much of his methods. The coating is something that has been seeing the rounds for about 7 or 8 years. It is applied like a epoxy, but it is super slippery, and extremely hydrophobic. Any damage that occurs to it can be fixed with a simple wet sand and polish, similar to any painted surface, without reducing the properties of the coating. It can also be stripped and reapplied when it shows signs of wear. Effectively it becomes a barrier to avoid damage to the paint. Since the paint on Subarus is so soft, I wanted the best protection I could get. The coating eliminates the need for waxing, and really the ability to wax. Until it starts to receive scratches after a year or 2, it will be so slippery that it will cause wax to roll off it. Locally, a shop called The Shine Shop charges roughly $1500 for the paint correction and coating alone! The cost of the total detail for my car from Mark, as I am presenting it here, is $1200. He doesn't have the overhead that a place like The Shine Shop has, and he passes it on to his customers. He is fully accredited, and insured. He is charging me $200. Effectively his cost for just for the coating. He has a Ranger that needed heads, brakes, a water pump, tune up, and ABS light fixed. I did that work in trade, plus I get a free freshen up before winter. He is involved in the detailing community. I could ask him for recommendations in Texas. What city center should I ask about?
  7. If I'm boring you guys, let me know. Just wanting to show the stages my buddy uses for his detail work... and how damn well he is treating my car. I'm really fortunate that I have a friend who does this as well as he does.
  8. Moving forward.... Brakes and Torsen should be here Monday.
  9. Pre-wash foam soak using deionized water, a concentrated shampoo, and warm water in my foam lance. After a thorough hand wash the entire car received a chemical decontamination. It is hard to see the embedded iron deposits "bleeding out" of the paint, trim, and even glass, but you can see remnants of them in the redish water on the driveway.
  10. Rumors are rumors. Ford has never been economical in terms of their specialty vehicles. Go back to the SVO Mustang. It was such a different breed from anything else. Then came the Fox Cobra which, yes used the 5.0 Windsor, but with specifically designed heads and intake, body parts, wheels, and other tidbits. Include the '93 Cobra R and it continues. '95 Cobra R same way. '00 Cobra R used a 5.4 DOHC designed specifically for that vehicle. It was never used in any other Ford. It's suspension, body, and interiors parts had many special parts. Ford GT of the early 2000s was completely one-off top to bottom, front to back. The Terminator Cobras had the blown 4.6 DOHC, buy the only thing it's drivetrain shared with anything else was the engine dimension. The block, rotating assembly, heads, everything different. Let's move to the most recent GT500. The only thing it shared with ANY other Ford (drivetrain) product was the engine block and that only lasted 3 years. Ford then developed an aluminum block just for this car. It also had it's own heads, blower,TB, Etc. The Raptor. . 6.2 developed just for the Raptor. While this architecture did trickle into their other F-series trucks, it's not the same beast. I don't think I need to mention any other differences for that. Let's fast forward to present day. The bew GT is again, an almost completely one-off vehicle. The engine dimensions/basic architecture are all that it shares with the "normal" 3.5 Ecoboost. The GT350 has so many parts that were developed strictly for that car, but of course the Voodoo is its claim to fame. Ironically, the 60s GT350 was the same way. It shared a chassis and an engine block with the Mustang, but everything else was purpose built. The GT500 was the same again. Just in Beast Mode for straight line speed. So you can easiky see here they've never thrown caution go the wind or built a specialty vehicle with economics in mind. Sure it is a factor, but not a limiting one.
  11. Why is shipping so high? I brought my rims mounted with 35" tires and the shipping was $640. That's high too but I'm sure it's way heavier than a couple of subs. Sorry very off off topic but figured I'd get more accurate answers here than asking The Whole forum
  12. Sonax makes a REALLY great wheel cleaner that does the same thing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003UT3S6Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490753267&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=sonax+wheel+cleaner
  13. Are you cleaning the wheels with the blood of the latest sacrifice?
  14. So the new car is out for a detail and coatings. Full paint correction, windows buffed and coated, wheels cleaned, iron deposits removed, buffed and coated. Entire vehicle, lips, underhood, jams, etc coated... double coated up front, lips, hood, and mirrors. Interior protection added and deep cleaned, etc. I get it back next Sunday. Forecast for 9 days following detail? 8 days of fucking rain. First 2 days of detailing...
  15. Awaiting patiently as well, already have the mids in the shopping cart.
  16. Let me know the second I can pay
  17. Pain in the butt! Good news, I got my XS Power Superbanks today These are the distribution blocks that I will be using on each one.
  18. There is no price tweaking or raising. The unopened new in box unit has always been $500, as it is listed on the SSA store. We are offering $100 off these few that are "open box" units never powered up. So that means they are $400. I guess I am not sure where the disconnect or confusion is.
