    Lol cant believe someone said that to you that worked with audio . If underpowering a sub was dangerous or bad for a sub every time you turned down your volume it would damage it cause it would be getting less and less power

    The Xcon is a little more pin point pressure with a smooth sound, the Icon is a little warmer kind of surrounding bass if that makes sense.
