  1. Don't do business with this guy! He bought a sub and amp from me. After several PM's, he said he'd take them. The money was in my account less than half an hour later. Excellent buyer!!
  2. Sounds like a pretty good deal. I've heard a few good installs with lower end JL subs, and they were impressive.
  3. Thanks for all the info. I've talked to a few other people in the area that have or have had a heat pump, and they've said that they work just fine around here. The furnace qualifies for the tax rebate, but not the heat pump or A/C. He did explain the 2 stage furnace, and I do understand it. I just don't know if it is worth the extra $500 or so. On a side note, we only plan on staying in this house for another five years at the most.
  4. I'm not sure if anyone here knows anything about this type of thing, but I'm needing some advice. I had a company come out today and give me an estimate for a new heating and cooling unit, as ours is over 20 years old and needs replaced. He gave me 8 different options ranging from $5000 to a little over $6000 (everything included, labor, mileage, etc). Anyway, he brought up the subject of air conditioner vs heat pump. I've been doing some research on them all morning, but still can't decide which would be the best route to go. The difference between the two range anywhere from about $450 to almost $1000. We live in Kansas, so there's everything from very cold winters to extremely hot and humid summers (this past summer was HORRIBLE). From what I've read, heat pumps are efficient down to around 30-32 degrees outside, so we'd have a separate gas furnace for when it gets really cold (then we need to decide between single stage and 2 stage furnace). I'd appreciate any help or advice with this. I know next to nothing about these things and don't want to make the wrong decision with a purchase this big. Dan
  5. Thanks. Yep, 10" Dcon and it gets VERY low.
  6. Not much, but here's a few videos I shot tonight. Song is White Girl. Dan :: 100_3218.mp4 video by ddwhalen - Photobucket Watch the mirror in this one: Dan :: 100_3219.mp4 video by ddwhalen - Photobucket I did get another one but it didn't turn out. The hatch was flexing a little bit, but the camera didn't pick it up at all.
  7. With as impressive as the Dcon is, I'm almost afraid to see the kind of damage an Icon or Xcon can do. I dare you find out Thanks for the kind words, very glad to see another happy customer. Thanks for your business! MUAHAHAHA!!! Thank you for the awesome product. It was built using the optimal ported Dcon specs on SSA's website. Giving it 300 watts. Trust me, if I had the money and an extra vehicle, I'd do it.
  8. I just got my Dcon and I'm extremely happy. SSA all the way. Sell that JL Audio W7-8. Then you will haz monies.
  9. Man, ya'll are really analyzing my pics. Anyway, just thought I'd drop back by and say, "ZOMG!" This sub just keeps impressing the hell out of me more and more. It absolutley slaughters anything that I've ever run with this little power. Even the Shiva that I used to have, which was a hell of a driver. A few ways to describe it: feels like someone is thumping me on my chest with their fist; smooth as hell; feels like there's a wind tunnel coming up on either side of my seat. I can't keep my rearview mirror in place, and it's pretty solid. I've never even had a pair of 12's that could do that. With as impressive as the Dcon is, I'm almost afraid to see the kind of damage an Icon or Xcon can do.
  10. 10". If there were 8's I'd have bought twins. I heard the UPS truck and went running for the door. That's Sassy. I've never seen a cat put up with a child like she does. Lets our daughter lay on her, pull her fur, etc. I can't wait until I get it all tuned right and it gets fully broken in. Edit for spelling fail.
  11. UPS dropped off a little somethin' somethin': First impressions. I didn't have much time to play around with it (gotta go to work soon), so I was pretty careful with the settings. Still, this thing is amazing. Gets loud and LOW. Hopefully I'll get some more work done this weekend (moving bass knob and replacing the crappy cable) and get it tuned a little better, but so far I'm extremely happy with my purchase. SSA's got a customer for life.
  12. Bwahaha!! I'm hoping to run a Sundown amp in the nearish future.
  13. We took apart our bass-knobs and it only takes 1 hole to mount through the center console, you will loose the light but if that is not an issue would probly work. Here is a pic of ours Hope that helps. That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm not concerned about the light, because it's bright as hell. I had to put some electrical tape over it, as it was interfering with my driving. I just need to figure out how to get INTO the console. Is there an insert that comes out under the arm rest of the center console, if not the the whole console will probly have to be lifted out to do it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play around with it later today.

  15. Yep, a 10" Dcon. Still trying to figure out how to get the knob into the console without tearing it up too much.
  16. Patience, young grasshopper. I'll definitely have more pics next week, and hopefully some videos by the weekend.
  17. Finally, a little progress. Picked up my new box today. Sub should be here Tuesday. I'm going to try and find some time to get the bass knob moved next weekend. My daughter, hamming it up as usual:
  18. I love it. It handles the 400+ watts from the Sundown 125.2 with ease. This is a very good sub for the money. I encourage more people to get these. Awesome. I can't wait.
  19. How do you like it? My 10" should be here soon.
  20. Looks like fun. I absolutley LOVE Colorado. We got back last week from vacation in Colorado Springs. I'd move there in a heartbeat if I could.
  21. I just read on Midwest SPL's Facebook page that they got a permit.
  22. Work on your grip. My grip is excellent, especially in my right hand. But seriously, use straps and start working on your grip with something like Ironmind's Captains of Crush hand grippers. I'm thinking of starting with these myself.
