  1. I have serious doubt that anything like this will ever get passed. Seems like the same pointless threat I heard 06 that they were trying to get heavy metal permanently banned.
  2. On your box dimensions, are those external or internal?
  3. Oh, yeah. I forgot all about that comment. I've got nothing on that. I was just sort of waiting for a possible video of a Type R cone flying away to never be seen again.
  4. Hasn't everyone been saying the Type R's were what was going to die?
  5. Do I need to post the article to why daily systems don't need to count on impedance rise again?
  6. Oooh, and btw, as far as Type R's go, here's what NOT to do.
  7. Personally, I just want to learn how to make my own subwoofer. I think that if nothing else, I could be a homeless person and build subwoofers all day.
  8. Perfect What are the chances of getting a job after that?
  9. FML. What are my other options if I wanted to work for one of those companies.
  10. I do think i'm going to build a sealed box for these subs, but i don't want to lose any output. I think facing them down would make the floor absorb a lot of the sound, though they would definately sound better. The sealed box will make a deeper but less loud bass, right? The ported box that I built is nice- I would hate to not be using it, which is the only reason i have not built a different box allready. 3/4" MDF with double flared ports and an intricate design i came up with to create the separate chambers. It's not hard, just time consuming, and I would want to do the sealed box the same way. I'd like to try other subs though, and I'd like to build a box I could use for something other than these P1's. But I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on subs. Is Kicker's SQ terrible like everyone says? I've been looking into Fi (BTL series), DD audio, Alpine, and JL audio (though they seem overpriced). It won't be as boomy, but trust me, it'll be plenty loud enough. Mine was loud enough to turn heads when I only had two 10's. It will also give you more deep bass. Also, firing into the floor will not absorb bass.
  11. I almost got another noise ordinance ticket a few weeks ago for riding through a neighborhood, and I honestly didn't think you could hear it outside of the car. (I've never heard my own car driving down the road. My neighborhood isn't that bad yet.) But I got out of the ticket because I told the cop that I didn't know it was loud enough to hear outside of the car.
  12. But is it basic algebra or do I actually know how to factor? I can not even begin to express to you how much I suck at factoring.
  13. I personally don't like Infinity as much solely because they do the thing with the rating. Here's what I suggest since you have P1's in a hatchback. Rebuild the box except make it sealed. Go with the recommended Vb that RF gives on their website. Have all 4 subs firing down. It may not add more DB's, but it certainly sounds better to me. Give that a shot and tell me what you think.
  14. see anything in there about subwoofers only? nope, me either. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yeah, but bass travels a lot further, which is usually what ends up getting people the tickets.
  15. Does electrical/mechanical have a shit ton of math?
  16. That would be cool. I've always wanted to work for a company like Sundown or Fi or something.
  17. Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
  18. Isn't it bad for kids to lift weights?
  19. I love how it happens right there in the living room.
  20. I got almost $1000 dollars in tickets this year, and I got set up for the last one. It was ridiculous.
  21. You going to go sealed or ported?
