Another Scam...
IIRC they even had some people stake out the buyer (I think he was in London or something) at the time of delivery to try to see his reaction and such, but they unfortunately didn't really get anything. The whole thing was hosted on a website years ago. Either way.....yeah, that was some funny shit as well. Yeah the address given for the buyer was at a coffee shop, so they had someone in the shop waiting for the person to come and get it. Funny thread back in the day Edit, Found a link about it for those who wanna good laugh: http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/

Fi X 10's
Just set your gain on your amp by ear, and pay attention to signs of stress (heat on dustcap(will be warm, but shouldn't be burning hot), smell of voicecoil getting toasty, hear clipping. etc) if you feel their being stressed too much then lower the gain. Always nice to have headroom

In need of Box Design, Info inside
Not their fault, so don't bitch and moan. Either learn how to build an enclosure and do it yourself or pay someone else to do it. Whatever you get stuck at or confuses you, just ask....

Then you better start learning Crash course, You can use this calculator for determining enclosure volume: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#rec Then you can use http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#porsq for determining your ports width height and length. (Make sure your port area is sufficient or you'll end up with port noise. general rule is 12-16square inches of port area per foot. Not saying the rule is perfect, just a guideline you can follow.) Then your gonna want to subtract your subwoofer's displacement, port displacement, and any bracing displacement. Now you'll have your net volume. So build a box so your net volume falls in between the manufacturers suggestion. Then start cutting pieces?

Anything wrong with gain all the way down?
Most HUs can't put out enough voltage to cause most amps to clip with the gain set to minimum. And actually in the simplest of terms, the gain knob is precisely a volume control. Yes I understand the concept and the relationship to the headunits volume knob and an amps gain. But I didn't call it a volume knob for a reason, some read it as "volume knob" and simply turn it up without knowing.

Anything wrong with gain all the way down?
I know that, it amplifies the signal, but with the gain all the way down i was unsure if it cuts the signal completely or not lol I want my bro to enjoy the system but not destroy it.... Just trying to make sure he can't go too crazy with it. Turning the gain all the way down won't completely stop the signal but it will lower it. So instead of having to turn the volume knob on the h/u up to say 20 for clipping to occur, you may need to turn the volume to 40 or something. It's all relative to one another.

FI BL15's or Fi BL18's?????
If your trying to find the port area for a round port, it would be (pie)*R^2 But if it's an aero port that flares then I don't know

15inch memphis mojo vs fi???
The lower the enclosure tuning the more output you'll get on the lower end and less on the top and vice versa. That's why most SPL fart boxes for competing are tuned super high because they burp a higher frequency tone (example: enclosured tuned to 50hz and burping at 55hz or whatever)

Sundown 1500D or 2000D for 18" XCON D2?
This is the biggest mistake people make. You think because the RMS rating is higher, it needs more power? I still saw the "Give it RMS" a few posts ago, lol....... I understand a higher rated rns driver can still play fine and be loud with WAY less then rated power. I understand that, but some drivers have stiff suspension and are made to outperform their counterparts ON more power. For instance yes you could run a BTL on 500watts or 1000watts and it's going to sound good. But a BL on the same 500watts or 1000watts is likely to perform just as well. But once you throw 2kw to a BL and BTL then the BTL really shines. So if your only gonna run 500watts or whatever then why spend all the money on a BTL when you could just get a BL... At least this is what I always believed to be true.
