  1. I know I'll be happy with mine!!!!
  2. Now it's time to get the relays setup for the few circuits that need modded since there is not a computer to control 2 of the circuits plus the addition of 2 circuits. Quick diagram for the relays. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 Relay pack. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 Relays harnessed up and ready. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 Harness is in place under the hood and here is were the relays will go. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 A little fun while getting the realys mounted. Comments, questions or whatever is on your mind post it up. We understand this is not an audio install at this point, but we do want to hear your comments on this phase of the project. Thanks, and stay tuned!
  3. Qucik prep for the beginning of phase 2 of this project. Installing the 1/0 grommet in the firewall. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-06 I know this is something simple but is part of the install that I don't recall seeing in any of the builds I've looked at so far.(of coarse I may have missed a few along the way)
  4. Time for some updates...It seems this build is really dragging, but when you are completely rebuilding the wiring harness and redesigning the drivetrain it takes as long as it takes especially when you are trying to go the extra mile to make sure it is done right. So on to the updates. If there seems to be to many pics of wiring to bad just passing along how much has been done and the pics don't show the half of it. On to the pics... Various shots along the way... By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 Figuring circuits and location of were they need to be. 5. The Icon really blows me away on how it performs. The accuracy of this driver is amazing and it kills the lows. I don't think I have heard a better driver in the (or near the) price range. Two thumbs waaaaaayy up for SSA. It definitely does more than I expected. I have had a few different setups in the Durango. This is definitely the best sounding setup and the bass output is very nice. The only thing I may change is sub and port location. I will build a few different boxes to see which sound the best. I love it. GREAT!!!! That's good to hear, well for you!!
  6. Looks very nice!!! Very clean setup!! Does it do what you were expecting??
  7. Very Sexy!!! Can't wait to see the results of this creation!!
  8. I agree x2. Awesome build, I'm going to use the perfection here and transfer it to my 04 cavvy. And hopefully do some sort of father/son project won't be near as nice because neither of us have any experience doing installs, but I am going to gleen as much knowledge from the ssa forums and people like you to help with my build. Thanks for all the great detail, time, and elbow greese! Thanks so much for the kudos!!! I think it's great you & your Dad want to do a build together, just try your best to lay out a plan and then execute with patience. You guys are not that far a away from us, if you need some type of help let us know maybe we can get together.
  9. The subs are dual.2 ohm. And I must add that tthis is my first install of any kind. And the kicker amps run at 750 and 1500 watts at 2 ohms. So they r fine right? And how hard is it to do.the.big 3 myself? Here is the link to the Big 3 if you havn't seen it: Not that hard to do depending on the type engine setup you have. Make a build log with lots of pics we at SSA love lots of pics.

Love the double runs of 1/0 for all the connections under the hood. Great lookin' mids!! I can understand the tweeter delema, in the pictures they don't look big, but once you start lookin at the measurements it's like damn were's that gonna go? Great/funny vid by the way!!! Interested in how you adapt to the tweeter size.
  11. I was going to suggest CDT Horns What ^^^ said!! Horns can get loud!
  12. I everytime I watch that vid!!! Glad you found the "Best" oh yeah "Only" audio forum on the net! Great to have you and
  13. Getbent(grasshopper) is into old school so he wanted to go the carb & HEI road, maybe we could get him to chime in and expand on this a little if I'm off base. Thanks again for the post and to the forum!!!!
  14. Great score on the concert tickets!!!! Hope you are enjoing SEMA!!
  15. Just how we put them together and then we flush trim the port out with a router. Andrew Guess I just never noticed that before on previous enclosures I've seen you build(always learning something). Thanks for the info!!!!
  16. Looks Good!! Nice lookin' truck!!!!
  17. Wow, tripple baffle!!! Is there a reason/trick for building the enclosure and then cutting out the port or is that not a normal practice?? Looks Great!!
  18. Thanks for the vote and all the support!!!
  19. Sorry nothin' like that as of yet, maybe in the future...
  20. Thanks, when the shaft was cut down and rebalanced the u-joints were replaced with stronger units(not sure on the brand) so hopfully it will hang for a while. The harness is taking a while but I do enjoy the challenge of rewiring it. Spark chasing can be difficult but fun at the same time.
  21. Very clean car and some very nice equipment, should be a nice match! More Please!!
  22. "Could one of the coils went out on a sub causing a different ohm load?" verify the ohm reading of the subs @ the amp to eliminate that as a problem as well.
  23. Pods are lookin' good!! The sanding to add more filler to just sand again allways gets old, but the results are allways worth the time. Waitin' for more!!
  24. and thanks for the vids!!
