I have done a few installations in that bodystyle F150. The only good grounds I found were at the negative battery terminal under the hood. I would not use the floor at all. Direct to the frame would also be a great idea as othersabove ^^^ have said.
What are your goals with your system? They are both great woofers.
Yeah they are awesome little amps. It will not be going their permanently. The factory bose system has two amps mounted in the trunk. I am going to utilize the stock mounting locations.
Amps are here as well. Holy crap I did not realize how small the JL XDs were.The 6 channel is smaller than a piece of paper. It even fits in the emergency kit spot on the rear deck.
So I did some more work on the benz today. IB is out of the question, way to much trunk modification needed and the gas tank is behind the back seats. What I came up with is a spare tire enclosure. The spare tire area is huge and I can easily get 1.5 cubic feet out of it. So I am thinking of a 12" ICON or XCON. I will build the enclosure first and then figure out which woofer I am going to use. Deadener is on the way for the trunk.

I think you need more speakers in each door, those probably won't be loud enough

Watched the original Superman One and Two last night, wow those movies bring back memories. Why the hell did they cast that actress for Lois Lane? RIP Christoper Reeve. I also watched the a preview for Man of Steel coming out this summer. Looks really good.
