Yeah, I had an 18" xcon walled. The Xcon is in perfect shape sitting right beside me in my room. The wall that the Xcon was in was about 3 years old and the mdf on the port started splitting while playing woofercooker by bass hit. So, I was like F it, the Xcon is a "SQL" woofer, so it can't be that hard to make a louder setup. The opti's have a lot more car flex and feel louder, but on my meter I'm about 2 db quieter than my xcon was. I still need to seal off my wall, and I need to brace my port, the damn thing flexes like galloping gertie. I don't know what to do with the xcon. I really wish I had a 15, not a 18. I'm also pissed at SSA for making such a great woofer. For something that is not made to get loud, it can do it pretty well....... Wait, what?

You going to upgrade the brakes?

I would love to do an icon. I know that will be a crap ton of bass too, its just hard to guage without ever hearing these woofers or a system much larger then mine actually. Another question....are the icons shipping with the new cone? I just saw in a new build thread, (maybe stafan's?) that they had the look of an xcon. Are they all shipping like that? Also, my amp has a fixed SSF at 28hz. So I will probably tune the box at 28-30hz. but how high could I go before I would run into problems? Those are the prototypes. We are allowing a few people to grab the newer version before their "official release", as we are still awaiting parts for the 10" model. The differences is the Xcon cone, upgraded suspension, sandwiched leads, and coil change. As for tuning, you can tune the box in the 31/32hz range and be fine. oh ok. When would the new icons ship? Will still be a little bit yet. If you would like the prototype version, specify it in your order. ` are the T/S parameters on the prototype the same as the current icon? And would the prototype be the same price and have the same warranty? As there have been a few different versions of the "prototype" so we have not pulled official specs. At the moment, as it is still not fully released yet, pricing has not changed yet, and yes, warranty stays.

It used to be a pretty good forum. Now there are only a handful of quality members left on that site. But it is one of the few forums that "low-hz" aka Kevin Holden has not been banned multiple times from or forced off. He is/was the primary RD product pusher, and CAF is one of the few sites left that site has people that think RD was/is a quality choice or a smart company to continue to buy from. I am not going to get into detail, but dont listen to anyone that thinks RD is a good choice or comparable to reputable companies or products.

The team stickers will look pretty much the same. The little stickers will be nearly the same, except we are going to use the shorter domain name. Meaning using "www.ssaudio.com" instead of "www.soundsolutionsaudio.com". It is much easier for the stickers and it will go on the shirts and hats when we get back to them too.

They went to another forum because Stetsom was already over there. Now maybe they will wise up and move over here also.

The Xcon can fill a lot of needs, but it is not a purpose built SPL sub woofer, so I hope people can understand the distinction.
