Welcome to the IHoP
i have to warn you aaron, falkens have the worst durability of any tire i've ever used. i've had 3 sets, 3 different cars, 3 different applications and all lasted only 25-50% of their treadwear rating, and i drive very conservatively. based on my personal experience and after working over a year in a tire shop (i know it's kind of embarassing) i still prefer michelins. i have also had very good luck with toyos for performance and BFGs for durability. if you're really strapped for cash go with cum-hoes (kumho). before you have the falkens installed go physically inspect a falken tire next to the comparable michelin or bfg, i can make a pretzel out of falkens with my hands. try twisting up a michelin pilot sport or toyo RA1 with your hands and you will know what i mean. Now you tell me after the tire shop orders them. sorry bout that! didn't notice you were in the market for tires fast enough seriously though, when the tires get in i would ask to manhandle them a little before they mount them, then manhandle some of the other brand tires and you will see what i mean. the sidewalls on falkens are a joke, whereas the pilot sports feel like steel when you try bend them. you can really tell the difference when you mount them on rims, sometimes it would take two or three guys to get the bead of a pilot sport over the lip of a wheel. Humm, quite interesting. I will see if I can manhandle the tires. They are ratted for 40k, but I know that won't happen. The model is the ZIEX ZE-912 UHP

Welcome to the IHoP
I have always had summer tires on the sled. Very tricky in the snow for sure, but I drive it only if I have to then.

Welcome to the IHoP
For some reason I have an urge for an old 240D 4 speed. Something build like a lead tank, can't kill it, 40+ mpg, and loads of room for family stuffs.

There was an E500 for sale not too long ago, but just did not have the cash for it. One of my all time favorite cars.

I don't think I can help much, but for others looking, where did it come from or what was it's purpose?

Mark doesn't have a lawn. Offer to be his cabana boy and I bet he takes you up on your offer. He can dig the gravel weeds, or walk the heard of dogs.

There is an old Econline that competes in SPL.- Welcome to the IHoP
I have a '97 Mondavi, an '85 Chilean, a '97 of something else that the name escapes me, I have been sitting on. My mother has gone full bore into collecting. Has two racks, each 10 bottles wide and 12 rows high full. Occasionally she will throw one my way.- Welcome to the IHoP
That is all I ran on my truck.- Welcome to the IHoP

The Avid's seems to do very well, the ES 100's were a softer sticker tire that in the end I did not need that much grip.- Welcome to the IHoP
That's what's on the GT I just bought. They're actually pretty good tires. Great grip in the dry, and I can run on the highway at 80+ in the rain with now worries. I have nothing against the Falken's, they have the coolest name by far. Just have never used them before, and could not afford my beloved Yoko Avid W4S's. I used to be a big Pirelli fan, and the last set I bought only lasted 5K with no burnouts. I went through a lot of shit with the Tire Rack about it and even got into it several times with a rep from Pirelli NA, but in the end, I was just left disgusted with them. I needed tires that day so I got a set of Kuhmos when they first came out. They were great. I then sold the car, and bought the Cobra which had the same tires on it. At first I didn't like it, but the car was a bit nose heavy in comparison to my previous Mustang. Once I got my suspension finished and was actually able to use the tires, I grew to love them. My father and brother now use them on their vehicles. If they made a stickier street tire, I'd buy them again, but alas. . . Sometimes, you really ARE paying for just a name. GoodYear comes to mind. It seems like the Japanese tire companies are at the top of the game right now. I agree on goodyear in recent experience.- Welcome to the IHoP
