Sold a 12" SSA Dcon to S.DeYoung and the transaction went smoothly. Sean was a great guy to deal with and I'll definitely do business with him again. Thanks again!

you guys picture some big china factory... its not like that... how would you do things? im sure its the best way.... so your hard parts dont mixed up with new hard parts. and what not. its a small company. that does big things,. I personally would hire more help. With enough practice, anyone can recone a sub.

SSA DCON Review
I recently picked up a used 12" SSA DCON and finally was able to find time to install it this last week. In this installation, I am running: Subwoofer: 12" SSA DCON single 4 ohm Enclosure: 2.00ft^3 tuned to 31Hz with a 4" aero port Amplifier: MB Quart DSC1500.1D at 4 ohms (375rms) I initially had low expectations, as this was my first single 12" installation. In addition, I have never used a low-power "entry class" subwoofer. After listening to this little guy for the last week, I must say that I am VERY impressed with its output and sound quality. I did a direct swap between a 15" Fi SSD and this 12" SSA DCON. The Fi SSD obviously gets louder, but the 12" SSA DCON is definitely no slouch and is plenty loud for the average daily setup. The 15" Fi SSD is one of my favorite sounding subwoofers that I have owned and I was not holding any high expectations for the DCON when it comes to sound quality. However, I was surprised once again, because the DCON sounded GREAT! In comparison to the SSD, I noticed that the DCON was punchier and a tad cleaner sounding. When it comes to the lows the DCON does well, but the 15" Fi SSD digs down deeper and hits the lows with more authority. Overall, the DCON is an amazing sounding subwoofer and can rival subwoofers that are much more expensive. The SSA DCON may be considered a budget subwoofer, but as for build quality, output, and sound quality, it is far from being "budget" quality.

No prob, just thought I'd help since I already had 3 different box plans sketched up for that particular sub.

dcon
Hey op, if you need a box plan for that sub, I just designed one for my own 12" DCON.. 2 cubes at 32hz using a 4" aero port. Let me if you're interested

New Subs
Haha either did I...

What's wrong with his soft parts?

Ampless component suggestions
Alpine type s comps get decently loud off of hu power, but the tweeters are a bit bright. They sound fine if they are off axis
-
Icon vs Xcon 15
Well with just that amount of power, I'd stick to an Icon. Generally sealed subs tend to like more power than ported. I'd really look into the Fi SSD at that power level too..great sounding sub for the money.
-
Best component speaker system question ?
I really like my Alpine SPX-17REF..good mid-bass and the tweets are super smooth. Might be something worth looking into for around $200.

F**K Monoprice RCA's.
You should have twisted the rca connector instead of just yanking on them...user error, I'm sorry. My monoprice rca's are great and just need to be loosened by twisting from left to right then pulling them off the connector.

When are the new SSD subs gonna come out?
It will go up a little bit..because it has to. But it is still on par with the course considering people are paying around 200 bucks for a Chinese produced 12 that is far less of a sub. Taking a stab at the SA-12? Gotta love the SSD tho..have owned every model of it since it first came out. Best sounding sub in its class IMO.
-
Best rca cable?
I have a pair of really expensive Streetwires RCA cables, Monoprice, and a pair scosche RCA's from walmart.. there isn't an audible difference between any of them.

BTL Trouble
Should've built your own box..really simple to do if you just take the time to research a little about them; even easier if you use aeroports. The guy obviously didn't go off of Fi specs.. I'd try get my money back and build it myself.

SSA ICON Series out of stock
Anymore updates on these? Pics???

Neo SSDs
