  1. If that is the case, please list your entire installation specifications.
  2. The old SSD's were 800. But there is no such thing as underpowering, you can put a BTL on your 500-2 and it will perform well. Oops, thanks for the correction on the wattage! I understand that you can't underpower the sub, but wouldn't the old SSD take the wattage more efficiently, which would in return create more sound? Thanks for the quick reply too! No, the power rating is only a general recommendation on the maximum amount of power to apply to the woofer, there are cases where it does not hold true, but it is accepted as true. The efficiency is a separate specification, and I am confident that Fi did not take a step backwards with the redesign of the SSD, it should be as good if not better than the previous version. Awesome! That's what I wanted to hear! Thank you! EDIT: You're almost at 10k posts! Gratz! Post pp a build log with some pictures for us! We'd love to see it! I didn't even realize that, thank you

I see no titties, therefore, she's an no-no for me
  4. 2 cubic feet is recommended for them, low end and efficiency will increase with the larger enclosure, just remember, you have a gain on your amp for a reason, use it correctly and you won't have any problems.

  6. Yes, there is a large difference in mechanical power handling when using a vented enclosure; but as your enclosure is only 2.25 cubic feet you should not run a risk of mechanically damaging your speaker. Thermal power handling is another story, but that is entirely up to you and how hard you are on it.

Fucking WIN! Bag the head You haz problems
  9. It won't make a bit of difference, you have 100+ feet of solid strand 14 gauge in your voice coil.

  11. I'll take 8 of them

    Damnit I want my Ducati
  13. You're better off.
  14. There is no impedance rise, more like a "peak" in impedance, impedance fluctuates with coil movement.
  15. Mix together wood glue and sawdust to a putty consistency and spread it on all corners and joints, let it dry and you are done, enclosure sealed.
  16. Smoother interior, better airflow. If done right, you can generally gain a tenth or so on a TL. Not really worth it unless doing serious competing and need that little extra This.
  17. LoL NO, if its professionally done you should be above 14.4 volts even with the sub hitting its hardest. Its all about making sure you know what your doing before attempting something of this magnitude. I thought it was a 12 volt industry What do you mean 12volt industry?? If you have the proper wires, alternator and battery/batteries to power your amps you will see 14.4 volts or above depending on if your alternator can be manually set a different voltages... Even then, it will still drop, there is lag in your alternators response to current consumption. It WILL drop.
  18. I believe the new Q's are all solid pole.
  19. Invest in some RAGE Gold for easier sanding.
  20. It will be a bit yet before they are ready. Heh, and I remember a time when you said it wasnt possible, despite me begging for some. So, when are you upgrading?

Kari Byron is fucking hot, she needs to pull out her boobies
  22. Not without tearing a spider, they are glued together, and it's hard to separate spiders without tearing it when there is CA glue holding them together. You can try, of course though, I wish you luck.
  23. You have a superior setup, that's all there is to it. There is no such thing as "clean" and "dirty" bass, I;m not sure what that person meant, I would not take their advise. 4 cubic feet is WAY too small for that 18", that will be why yours doesn't sound as precise as your friends.
