Best advice would be to read as many reviews on both products. And or go to as many shops and listen to the brands they carry. Morel is a very respectable company and make great sounding speakers. I have yet to hear the Maximos or the new IA's, but I have had IA subs in the past and they make a great sub! The Morels are sold directly by Amazon so no worries there until they quit carrying them.

One thing to consider on the Morels: Is the dealer authorized? Warranty? Tech support? With the IA comps your buying from an authorized dealer, great customer support form IA and SSA. And the members here on the forum can help as well. IA FTMFW!

Aero Ports are easy to tune! Take up less internal volume and you can get away with less port area due to the flares. Go with what your comfortable with when it comes to calculating.

Try another amp if you have one. That would be the easiest way to find out if it's the amp.

I couldn't agree more! For the money you just cannot beat the quality of sound and output it has.
If your not sure on your coils, measure the DCR with a DMM and that will tell you what ohm voice coils you have. Running the SAZ-1000D as Drew stated is risky with the current draw being more than the fuse rating on the amplifier. Actually if you can find another 1000D I would strap a pair to your Sub.
Comes down to install and quality of the enclosure build! Depending on what series from MTX a single SA-12 has a lot of potential in the right hands.

What does your system consist of currently?
I would check it.
Check your rcas's and ground at the amp and behind the deck. Alo make sure your speaker wires are not grounded to metal.
