Back in the 90's the AC and B&K meters used different weighted settings when used for SPL. Exactly what I do not recall but I believe the pressure sensors were very forgiving compared to todays standard TL or SPL-Labs meters.

Polyester grill cloth works as well. Fleece sux imo, way to absorbant for my tastes.
I wouldn't be afraid to buy those Aura's! Hell buy up to $300 worth and sell them locally and get a nice return on your money .
I think we can all agree that it doesn't matter what brand they all will have issues at one time or another. Just the nature of electronics when they want to fail they fail.
Not everybody is in the comp scene so the need for protection is provided for daily applications. As far as prices go the Crescendo linup is very attractive I must say. Critical Mass? I have yet to understand why they have such a high price tag. When it came to running a low impedance, competition burp system the SAZ-1500Dv.1 (is) was a beast and very reliable.
I have 2 SA-15 D4 running off 1 Sundown SAX-1200D and it is pretty impressive for the amount of power. No need to run that much power on a daily type system.
