  1. I have learned a boat load about tuning and installation lately And the 12" is gonna take every bit of it. I won't forget the pics, I know ya' all are picture whores.:captain: You know us so well
  2. Looking good ! its been done before , I'm sure you will succeed !
  3. don't think impendence is really an issue here . try metering it with the trunk open (and doors shut offcourse) ... how big is that trunk ,10 or 11 cuFt ..... way to small to house two of those beasts and you are in fact smothering them .... maybe trunkspace was stated somewhere in your other topic but did read it entirely ... .if it were 11cuFt Qtc would be somewhere around 0,93 ... you need to get it down to 0,7 (36 cuFt) at least ... 0,5 would be my goal , ther is no way you're going to achieve that in a trunk for 2 18inch IB woofers ... my suggestion would be make a hole (or two) what is short and big enough not to act as a port to the outside . test with trunk open and see how that goes ... might also be an idea to listen to your system and how it sounds ... if and when that works you could make the ventilation holes that are often behind the bumper bigger and if there are flaps remove them for starters .

    WOOFERPORN
  5. HMMMM , I'd say that that impedance curve is spot on to what I'd expect from a Woofer with an Re of 4ohm on sinewaves and impedance rise taken into account .......
  6. X2 those are only available in 12 inch , that very well be enough BOOM .... second hand is another option with that kind of budget , start looking in SSA's wanted/for sale topic off course !
  7. before I even thought of even hooking that thing up I'd refurb it or at least put some fresh cap's in ....no idea if thats worth it though
  8. It could all be coincedense offcourse , though it is quite probable your RCA,s are the problem , I'd check remote and power/ground cables , check if all the cables are correctly separated and check if all is free of any damage , check if the amps aren't making ground on the chassis and if there is tape anywhere on the cables redo / make sure it is good isolating tape , better yet that shrinking hose (no clue what it is called in english, maybe someone else could clarify) , you mentioned taking the maxxlink out of your car , were the cables thar ran to it taken out and/ or were new rca's run from that point if so how are the jack's protected ?
  9. THANX ! I've been looking for that 20 Hz to 160 Hz slide uncompressed
  10. I've owned a few hertz subs and heared many I advice not to buy Hertz subs , they lack in bottom end and expensive for what they're capable of . more info on what you're looking for would be needed to give any advice on a suiting sub for you . your front stage has got great potential , curious to see what your goals are .
  11. Finally , good stuff !
  12. I know how to use WinISD, don't worry. It's a mid-Qts sub with a large Vas...how do you think it's going to model? It'll be a big box, of course. there are very few 15" woofers that would be satisfied with 2cuft ported and hit the lows well . however you did forget to take the gabin gain into account AND the Le filled in with the T/S, which would change the graph . stuffing would partially take away the bump , all that results in something very different from what you're telling this woofer could end up in a ported 3.5 cuft box and with an almost flat response in-car without EQ'íng but with the right fine-tuning . The IA is a very nice sub though .
  13. do you even understand how calculating box works , post stuff like this when you understand what you're doing !
  14. if space is not an issue then I'd opt. for the third Havoc
  15. this one had me scratching my head in confusion before the build even started it was over........ LOL
  16. you could try to look out for a second hand termlab ...they don't come around very often and not planning ever getting rid of mine but worth a shot . the russian system DOES resemble the termlab BTW .
  17. got the 3inchers in ! woohoo they look really good IRL , a shame my camera isnt all that .
  18. that's 2times a yes . if you look around here some you will find quality products that will achieve the same or better for less , just saying port volume is seperate from box volume ,
  19. closed box for a 10 , you're really pushing the limits now ! looks clean , must have been quite the challange

    Hi
  21. more depth. I just never heard a aero port set up I liked. Also you do such awsome work with your slots, wanted my box to have it. But if we can get it to fit then I may have to change my set up idea. No matter the final design your getting my buisness.Thnx oh hell , you probably heared prefab enclosures , you are asking to get a custom build box , it will be far better than what you're used to , not that I know Andrew from argent audio , in fact I live on the other end of the world but I doubt He'd offer to build boxes if he were not capable of doing so . an aeroport does exactly the same as a wellbuild slotted port , infact you need to put in quite some work to get a slotted port to be as good as an aeroport .
  22. Are you sure you can highpass the tweeter channels so low on the P88 ? From what I could find it only goes down to 1250hz. amp for fullranges connected to the mid's channel and setting the LPF on pass ...not using te tweeter channels .
  23. oh ... those rings , I dont make those , a friend of mine is in charge of those , where he works he has these computer/CAD controlled table things I don't know the english word for ,that cut those .
  24. the wool is there to provide some boundary , it slows down air , lets the speaker act as if it were in an enclosure of a certain size and it makes the waves that reach though what ever path they traveled into your cabin being later and softer I think what you meant was a variovent or aperiodic membrane, that is probably what I will have to use in my build because I cant build in my dash , so therefore I need to open up the back of my pods and sandwich wool between two grilles creating an variovent . but I'd rather not so gonna try my 3inchers in .7 litres sealed entirely filled with a lot of wool ...but I expect it not work to be honest .
