  1. You answered your own question in that post, ignorance is bliss and what you dont know will come to bite you in the ass in the future. Not saying JL is bad, they are a great company way more pricey. It is a personal decision dont let them tell you JL is better let yourself tell you that but its more about what is your budget and goals that will determine whats better for you?
  2. So you want a individual chambered box, what are your max dimensions (height x width x depth).
  3. I have to disagree here. A better term would be application, but there are several manufacturers who know their drivers very well and know what enclosures work with what application. JL comes to mind, as well as MTX to name a couple. Thanks for the correction, I shouldnt of made it seem so blunt like all mainstream companies.
  4. Not to thread jack or anything but in this case if your batteries AH are cut in half in that type of weather then will you be getting full use from your batteries in your system. Sounds like a no, so is there a way to avoid this or just get some more batteries with AH headroom? I live in Texas so weather barely gets that cold.
  5. Several reasons. Many times they can be covered in gook which keeps from getting a solid connection. Some seatbelt bolts and seat bolts, while securely attached to the vehicle mechanically, don't have a great "electrical" connection to the rest of the vehicle. And depending upon how someone connects their terminal to the bolt, there may be very little contact area (if they install the terminal above carpet or padding, for example). The short of it is, the quality of the connection can be hit or miss....so why take the chance? Create your own ground somewhere that you know will be a solid connection and bypass the entire possibility of having an issue. You might not notice an issue (alt whine, etc) but that doesn't necessarily mean you have great ground. Well I just went out there and did a test on my grounds and I got a reading of 0.00-0.03 but it would stay at 0.01 or 0.00 ohms after jumping through numbers. I put one probe on the seat bolt itself and the other probe on the end of the ground wire that I took out from my amp. I did some research after searching through about 100 pages for that testing method and dont know if it is valid or not. If not could you lead me into a test where I can use my DMM to test resistance? If I did a good test then is my ground a good one? Thanks man, Im not to hip to this DMM thing so I dont know how to use it 100% yet.

You call me "so critical over nothing" yet ironically you're the one who ran to the internet to laugh at a guy for mispronouncing the name of a product. Because he's a competitor, he's supposed to be aware of every product available? He probably just competes in smaller shows where the lesser known brands aren't prominent. Stop being so critical over nothing.
  7. Well I do appreciate you for that bit of advice that you gave me, I have some adjustments to do now to my system. On my next build I was going to just ground everything to the battery.

x2, I got it but it wasnt funny to me I guess my humor is higher than that.
  9. I like the subs that way, the mystery of the unkown ground pounders.
  10. Congrats on your purchases and cant wait to see a build log when you start installing things.
  11. General Platt - Pants on the ground
  12. The only ones that have come back were damaged in shipping or user abuse. Pretty much how must subs get damaged anyway, almost 80% or better is user error.
  13. Paul Wall & Chamillionaire - Still (N luv wit my money)
  14. x2 and what head unit?
  15. Gucci Mane ft. Drake - Believe It or Not
  16. They do make the FI SSD available to be used in a sealed application you just have to order the copper coils (make sure you read FI Technical tab on there site or on this forum). Nobody can tell you which would be louder it is all install depended, the best way to tell is buy both and test then give us a review. There is no such thing as which sub will handle the AQ the best? Both would be good setups so pick which one is in your budget, I personally would go with the SA-12"s (I was gonna get two of them myself).
  17. Why is the seat bolt a bad grounding location, I never had a problem grounding my amplifiers there? (just curious, maybe I have been doing wrong all this time).
  18. Sounds like he is dicking you around unless he is driving Ms. Daisy around town. Well He showed up and made an estimate and it came to be about 200 bucks more than what the shop quoted me. So I'm going to have 2 bills extra after I fix my car . Worth the wait I guess. , now let me borrow $50 (just playing).

  20. Agree with things people have posted before this, but just an fyi to you- a sub's power handling has absolutely nothing to do with its sound quality. Nor does a high number even mean it will get loud. Quoted for a reason. To add to it, I wish I had more people demo the Xcon in the sealed box I had it in with only 240 watts. It would have helped get rid of this perception that just because it is ratted for 1750, does not mean in the slightest that it needs it. Along the lines of having a 911 GT3, just because it can do 180+mph, does not mean you need to drive it that fast to still get insane performance. send me an xcon and i would run it sealed off of 240 watts lol. It took me awhile to understand this perception also, I always thought you had to get an amp to match the subs rating it must be getting that from the amp to perform well. After a few years of installation and understanding that subs sound just as good on small amounts of power too that I learned you dont have to have the sub seeing enormous amounts of wattage to perform.
  21. You have a pair This was a v.1 Nightshade. In a few days I'll have 16v numbers on the v.2 silly guy you know what i ment... V2's when can i have a pair! After I get one, cant wait till these are released. I think Im going to have a Z15 v1 for fun and the Nghtshade 15" v2 for the haters and people I want to on.
  22. No your not hurting me and yes it matters, why would someone say this box is better when we dont have all the box's specs. If you want to know which is better off of dimensions then the one that fits nicely and has the amount of space you want leftover once the box is in. Why do people get emotional, it is just a post take your skirt off. It doesnt make sense if there is not enough information to make an accurate judgment.
