  1. I knew you were going to say that, Bass Boost FTL !
  2. Sorry to hear that man, how did you have your amp set(just curious)?
  3. I wouldnt get either of those subs, what is your budget on subwoofers? In that trunk the most you may get in there is 1-15" comfortably or 2-12"s, go measure your trunk for the max dimensions (height x width x length) for enclosure minus room for batteries and amps.
  4. This box is 4.45ft^3 tuned to 44-45Hz, that is why the low notes sound bad.
  5. BTL's will be louder than BL's and Q's on less power than recommended. Why not just one 15" BTL on 2000watts and call it a day. Just my .02
  6. Power does not mean everything, focus on what subs you want to get and go from there. No point in throwing all that power at subs if your not competing anyway. Dont run an amplifier lower than the final ohm load unless you dont want to keep you amp for a long time, running them that low will kill them over time and strain your electrical alot. Its all about the install, if done right then yeah it will be better than your old setup.
  7. Yeah it is considering the 15" needs less than half that box.
  8. Glad you could join us
  9. We got it and gave you an answer on the lack of information giving. Regarldess both subs are good and there is no best out of the two, if so the inferior one wouldnt be still selling. Now which sub is better for you application is another question and all that depends on your system and goals. There arent any bad subs on this forum; just get one that: fits in your budget, power range, enclosure size space availability and so on.
  10. I see that someone likes to go roller skating, nice video just need to clean up the wire some. Did you scew down that panel piece that says Alrero to quiet it done or for some other reason (my friend has an Alero and can not shut that piece up to save his life).
  11. $500-$600 for the 18 or for the whole sys? Just for the sub man.
  12. Looks good, keep up the excellent work.
  13. Sweet build man, what are the specs of that box? What are the numbers it put up?
  14. what about them? theyre much much better but also cost much much more yes, theres a specific reason, I need 3000 watts minimum, but I only want to spend $300 a piece if I get 5 of them if I could have any amp, Id like SAZ-4500D... get me some of those for even $500 a piece and Im game I would say Audiopipe 3000D, AudiuQue 2200D and MB Quart 2000D but not a Hifonics and that just my .02. yesh I just heard about the MBQ... thanks for the heads up! Why not HiFon? Personally if your looking for 3000watts minimum then I dont even know why you have the Hifionics Brutus 2608 or AQ 2200D up there. You should be doing a listing for Audiopipe AP3000D, AudioQue AQ3500D, Crunch GroundPounder 3000D, Hifonics Colussos or some used Sundown SAZ-3000D's. Its also going to be hard to get 3000watts of real clean power for around $300 especially good quality and reliability. No Hifonics because they have a failure rate which I wouldnt want to deal with, they arent the top brand and the Brutus's arent even the top line on the Hifonics brand. Just my .02
  15. Yeah completely to the left, 0db is where your bass boost should stay.
  16. First build a new box for your current subwoofer. If you care more about SQ, not output then go sealed (Not saying sealed cant be loud). I would got with the 12" Fi Q Dual 1 ohm and wire it in series to 2 ohms. If ported, I wouldntnt keep the enclosure as it is to big (build a new one between 1.8 - 2.5 ft^3 @ 28-33 Hz). 28-29Hz : Excellent Lows/Good Output 30-33Hz: Excellent Output/Good Lows
  17. Well its a good amp and puts out way more power than any listed so in all fairness why should it not be number 1, Im not bias or anything just as honest can be.
  18. Yeah I dont see why that wont work, just make sure you caulk the hole up with silicone or you could also use that bolt method two but it sounds like a good idea.
  19. I would say Audiopipe 3000D, AudiuQue 2200D and MB Quart 2000D but not a Hifonics and that just my .02.
  20. yea after some serious pounding i came to my senses and turned the sub off so something like that wouldnt happen harhar. but thats a good idea as well thank you and great lol. i have a nice 3 inch circle to cover.... isn't gunna look pretty at all oh well no one sees it besides me I had a picture of it but I guess I took it off, but I did what todd.brust said to do (just drill hole and cover with silicone). Or you can do the nuts, waher and bolts thing; either is a good choice and recommended. I still havent decided how I want to do my new box Im gonna be doing, but that is neither her nor there (it will be one of those two methods though). Good luck on the 3 inch circle though, he maybe its time to for some practice and do a new box
  21. Dont use them again ever, to much current trying to pass through those terminals and they wont hold up. Just get you some 8 guage, 10 guage or 12 gauge wiring and use it from sub to amp and call it a day (find another way to run the wire from sub to amp also).
  22. Well I guess you dont want to know whats wrong, just cause your lazy dont let it stop you from finding the source to your problem, (especially if you cant find the problem externally). Just my .02 check the subwoofer and make sure everything is fine.
  23. The screws or nails has no way of been as strong as the glue that is holding it together, there are just there to keep the enclosure together while it dries. Screws eventually come loose over time if Im not mistaking.
  24. I like controlled destruction, FTW!
