  1. There have been issues with DSS, just because you havent heard doesnt mean their isnt. The main reason why I stopped following the brand and lost interest in their subs. Glad to know about Stereo Integrity because I was considering some Mag 12''s for my little brothers' car and also the HT series for my home audio setup.
  2. 30-33hz should be fine, hard to pick this number on an amp so anywhere in that range will due.
  3. They say the best way is the pen and paper method. Their is a port calculator and other general information on the internet, try searching for it.
  4. Your point of this post was? If you have a problem with pricing and if you were actually interested in buying the h/u then pm him. He can list if for whatever he wants where ever he wants. Did you factor in shipping and insurance for a rockford headunit that is rare.
  5. ^^^This How is your build coming along?
  6. Pretty much sums it up, more info on SMD.
  7. what happened to your ride if you don't mind me asking sir? Just the random issues of having a 18 year old car, it still moves around and gets me from point A to B. But the rack and pinion, tie rods and suspension needs work and are going bad. Just to a point where Ill be putting more money into it then its worth. I also live in an Emission state and the vehicle doesnt pass emissions anymore, so doing the work to get that going just isnt logical. I enjoyed no payments for long enough, guess it's time to get me something pre-owned. If my car passed inspections or I was more mechanically incline than yes I would put more time and work into it.
  8. I havent even hooked it up Aaron, finally got all the pieces to my build and started having car issues. I been on the car hunt for a minute now, so build may be on hold. I already ripped all my electronics and wires from my current car, sold radio and mids so even more pictures to come as I make purchases. And hopefully a new ride by the spring for a build log. Sucks I know but at least I have equipment once I buy a car.
  9. Could be but it wont be leaps and bounds louder though, maybe not enough to justify the extra money spent. What all electrical upgades have you done to the car? Big 3 at least? If you do get a bigger amp then Im pretty sure you will end up needing to add two batteries, one under the hood and one in the trunk. Your car's alternator is made to supply the vehicle with power and leave you a little bit left over for accessories but not a 1200 watt or 2500 watt system. So you are going to be spending more than 400 on upgrades period. To what maybe gain a db or two, that might or might not be audible.
  10. Ok makes matters better, barely doubling the power probably wont net you any output to the ear but maybe the meter slightly if you are competing. If anything I would just use that money and upgrade the stock battery to an AGM battery.
  11. Im pretty sure you can sell your IA10.1 and get a nice chunk of change and buy one bigger amp. I prefer one amp over strapping just less wires and stuff to mess with. But with you only being able to wire to 0.5ohms or 2 ohms, strapping amps may be the most cost effective in your case. What is your new budget on amplifier, Im guessing $400 since your willing to get another IA10.1?
  12. Thanks Lee. First time with a Birch enclosure and its crazy how light it is compared to my mdf box without a double baffle or bracing.
  13. Go do research, is it that hard. Just wait till you actually have a car, saying what you will get will not help if you dont actually have it. Go look up whatever car you ate getting and find the battery size and alternator size, if you cant do that then we cant help you. ONCE AGAIN
  14. No it wont sound different, the center port advantage is structural integrity. Besides that not much of a difference.
  15. Like stated before the sub doesnt determine what battery to get.
  16. Have you done the leg work and called alternator companies to see?
  17. Enclosure for my SSA Icon 15", double baffled and braced. 3.46 cubes @ 32hz with 16 in^2 of port area.
  18. No he is not and didnt even provide people who paid for brackets their brackets. Hence the 4 year old thread.
  19. Opinions dont meant jack in car audio, nobody can tell what will be louder or hit lower or if it will beat your family's system or any of that non sense. Your asking subjective questions which dont yield you any results. Stop with these trolling threads, obviously you are trolling or just too thick headed. How many more of these opinion threads will we see? If you download WinISD and input the subwoofers parameters (t/s specs), you can model subs in their recommended enclosures and get a round about answer on how they will perform.
  20. Is the owner someone that is well known in car audio or this forum?
  21. PM Aaron Clinton and he should be able to help you with this.
  22. Go to profile page and hit the red Edit My Profile button. When the new page loads, two tabs under Profile Settings is Signature. Click on the Signature tab and a page will open up allowing you to update your signature.
  23. Yeah the Sundown would be perfect as there is no problem with underpowering a subwoofer.
