X2, i wouldnt say 12.8v at full tilt is on point for voltage at all sure its better than others. If you are not dedicated to loosing room and addidng more equipment then it seems like there arent to many more upgrades.
Fiberglass doesnt add strength like your are thinking it will, yes it will help seal up problem areas. If you dont wanna double up on mdf then go brace crazy
Ive havent seen anyone on this forum or another forum saying they mix sand with their fiberglass, maybe you mistook the sanding process afterwards and confused yourself. There is a fiberglass forum with a plethora of information.
No. This has absolutely nothing to due with what happened. You can't tell this dude anything. He knows why his equipment is blown but at the end of the day he doesn't why know why it blowed. Post up all information about your build: enclosure size/tuning, electrical, subs, amps, etc. How is everything wired up: subs, batteries. What is your voltage like?

You dont need the Sd to help design an enclosure, you mean the displacement the sub will take up once inside the enclosure.
